"Our next course of action is likely already decided for us."He points to the symbols on each of your hand. "I have been given the same insignia by our mutual friend. Along with a message: Stop the coming storm that aims to destroy the magical realms"
"This school is not just a place for education. There is a clandestine association that controls all the arcane schools. A governing body of sorts. So you know, there are only three arcane schools in our realm, but there are over 200 arcane schools spread across the multitude of realms. You probably haven't learned about different realms yet, but... yes, different planes of reality do exist."
"Just before the attack began, I was talking to the Dean. You see, some professors get sent on quests and the Dean was explaining the nature of my next quest when the attack began. His quest seemed to align with what the elf in my vision was telling me about. The 200 schools across the realms are connected by portals, these portals allow for seamless travel and communication between the realms. We have direct access to three realms that are home to 10 schools which all have their own portals. That being said.... we have had reports of about 50 school in the last 3 weeks that have gone dark. The fact that we've just been attacked likely means that the 50 schools that have gone dark, have probably done so due to being overtaken. I was charged with visiting these school to try to get some answers. The fact that you all share the same insignia as I seems to indicate that we are fated to take this quest together."
Ceasar's eyes go wide at the implications of both the many realms, but also the fact that so many schools are going dark. His hand subconsciously grips into a fist and steps forward, "Count me in. I don't want to stand aside while others might be in danger."
"So far, three of the 10 schools we have direct access to have gone dark. Us repelling the attack will have undoubtedly bought some of the other schools some time."
Cassie crosses her arms in front of her looking at Janus closely Insight5, the look on her face, one of skepticism, "the same insignia by our mutual friend you say? How do we know that entity that gave us the marks is a friend, not some maleficent force looking to trick us? What is the name of the entity, what is her exact connection to the school(s)? What is the meaning of the insignia? Why didn't you mention all this to us before now? What about Lenny, how does he factor into all this?"
Cassie,
Your insight does not give you much to go on unfortunately. However, I will say that in the months of classes you've attended, Janus has never led you to believe that he was anything but a straight shooter.
Tellier looks at Cassie, mildly shocked, "Cassandra! We've just been through a lot. Leave the questions for later, when everything's settled."
He turns to Janus, "What should we do now? And what should we do about," Tellier gestures to the cracks, "... that."
Janus, look at both of you and says:
"It's okay Tellier. Your questions are valid Cassie. Unfortunately I don't know much more than you do at this moment. I dont know the entity any better than you do... All I know is that she came to me in a dream, gave me an ominous message and assigned this insignia to my hand. She left quickly as if something was after her and when I woke, the school was under attack. I can only assume that her warning is connected to the events that have come to pass. She also mentioned that no one person would be able to remedy the situation."
"As for whether she is a malevolent or benevolent force... Again, I have no answer for this. All I know is that the dean assigned a quest to me, I then got a warning from some vision, and awoke with an insignia on my hand, and now, I've found the lot of you bearing the same insignia."
"Tellier, as for what we should do about what's beneath this floor. We could try to carve away enough of the floor for us to fit through and find out what it is?"
"The dean was supposed to tell me the location of the school's portals... but we were interrupted by the attack before we could finish out conversation."
You all notice, once Cassie mentions Lenny, that he does not have an insignia on his hand.
"I don't know anything about some entity in a dream... I woke up to a loud bang in the courtyard. I am responsible for this section of the Dorm Building, and with that responsibility comes the requirement to defend the student within this area. If you think you'll need me I can see if I can join you, otherwise I'm sure I'll be busy enough here"
(ooc- You could, if you'd like, try to have Lenny join you if you choose to follow Janus on this quest.)
Tellier watches as Cassandra walks away, not saying anything until he turns back to Janus, "Should we try to find the dean? Maybe he can give us some more information on this."
Janus: "Tellier, we could look for the Dean, I have no idea where he might be or if he even has survived the attack. We could start by checking his office?" Janus, notices Cassie looking around and investigating the area. "Cassie, the buildings on campus are centuries old. There are rumors of that beneath some of the buildings there are caverns and tunnels that wizards would use to travel to and from the campus."
Janus puts the decision to you guys: Do we look for the Dean, or try to find out what beneath the dorm building?
Tellier looks with distaste at Cassandra before speaking up, "Well, it's settled then. If we don't have any leads here, we ought to search for the dean and figure out what to do next."

“So what’s the plan? Take back the schools that have gone dark? Do we have direct lines of communication in case another school needs back up?”
