"And where were these fishing boats lost?" Gilly asks after taking another swig from his mug.
The Old Sailor takes a swig from his ale and says "all I know is that were last seen heading out to the southeastern fishing grounds and have been missing for at least a ten-day or more!'
"Good work Floki, we can go check it out later. Everything seems alright here, we found a place to sleep, a place to get some grub and some ale, by the way, get some of the chowder, never know when another hot meal comes along, do you?" Vhon looks around the bar "Gilly seems to be getting to know ther earthy locals, whereas you seem to be mixing with the high fliers, we should have our bases covered."
Floki nods, "True Captain. Hot meals can be worth their weight in gold sometimes!" Floki exclaims with a grin as he gets himself a serve of the chowder.
As he sits back down by eating his meal, he says between mouthfuls, "This reminds me of my gran'ma's chowder, hot and salty. Before I forget captain, something strange happened out in the alley. Just between the two of us, it doesn't bother me much but I was outside relieving myself when some chap held some kind of weapon to my neck and asked questions about my home. Once i answered, he disappeared. As I said, doesn't worry me but the crew should keep their wits about themselves, just incase."
"To lost friends,"Gilly says, holding up his mug in a toast.
"I'll drink to that!'" the Old Sailor says waving over the barmaid "another round and Claw Wine Chasers."When the ale and the Claw Wine chasers turn up, the Old Sailor looks at Gilly "you've got to try this young'un it'll put hairs on the inside of you chest, well at least you'll feel like it does!"
{OOC - can I assume that you're finished in the bar for the night and will make your way up to your rooms}
After celebrating and making his way to his bedroom, the tabaxi would continue to play with the dancing lights as the buzz from the drinks he had consumed fills his stomach with warmth. Flopping back on the bed, he would lay there watching the lights move across the ceiling as he moved tom to form a few basic constellations... even making some of them twinkle as if they were stars before falling asleep.
Gilly will drink with his new friend as long as his new friend wants to drink. (What's his name, by the way.) He'll try to keep the subjects light and jovial. Let me know how much to deduct from my purse.
Vhon notes how the crew are doing at socialising with the locals and feels that he isn't needed further, and ends up going off to the rooms that they have fairly early, after mentioning to all the crew that they are at liberty to do as they please. He takes the money and jewels up to the rooms with him and as the night comes in from the window he examines one of the gems a beautifully cut emerald, the moonlight shining through the gem creating a green light that flickers on his face as he admires it. Putting them away safely once the others have settled in he falls asleep, the sleep bringing strange dreams of woodlands he has no recollection of ever seeing before and strange sylvan creatures that parade before him imperious and silent, until a creature more tree than person breaks from the line, walks towards him and places a hand gently against his face whispering "Take it when you are offered". His dreams after that he cannot remember.

After Gilly and the Old Sailor finish their ale and claw wine, the Old Sailor turns to Gilly and says "I forgot to introduce myself! Call me Ishmael!"Between them they drink 5 more rounds which Ishmael buys two of - he already bought the first and Gilly buys three for a total spend of five taran. It turns out that Ishmael is a whaler and has spent his life hunting the great beasts across the Sea of Swords and also far out into the Trackless Sea.

Gilly pays the six taran to cover his breakfast, then walks the dormitory hall calling Zephyr's name in a loud whisper until the tabaxi sticks his head out and, chuckling, tells the firbolg to shut up and come in the room. Gilly falls into bed after undressing and, with half-closed eyes, joins Zephyr in commenting on the shifting lights until he falls asleep with a smile on his face and a snore in his throat.
Zephyr would rub his forehead as the sun shines through the window of his room. "Uugghhhh" He would say with a heavy sigh. "Did you hear what time that fancy looking man said we were supposed to meet him for a job? Not sure I remember..." He would ask Gilly before hissing at the open window and shielding his eyes from the bright light. After a few minutes of stumbling around he would stumble his way out of the room and make his way downstairs and await the arrival of everyone else.
At the Solomor Mansion - mid-morning, Day 9, First Ten-day, Month of Tsarkah (Storm Month)
Having just partaken of breakfast which was a remarkably healthy collection of hard-boiled eggs, dried fish, beans and fresh bread, washed down with a lite ale, the party assembles in the Inn’s yard.
There is a cold wind blowing from the north which means that the perceived temperature is close to freezing. As a matter of fact there is still some ice on the horse trough where it is in the shadows. That said a bright sun, is shiny in a blue sky.
Having sought directions to the Solmor House, the party makes its way to the property. (OOC: it’s the big stone house just near the fields). As the enter the courtyard, they see a large stone mansion with an imposing set of double doors.
