Story: Storm found his purpose in the military of the country, until it came time for the gods to see that purpose changed. After 4 years in the military and an honorable discharge he now wanders the landscape trying to help those in need. The keep is nested into the nearby hills forests to the north and marsh to the south. You have met few travelers on your way as the keep is at the end of civilized lands. The surrounding hills give way to mountains that go from north to south. Here is the Eastern border of the kingdom of Faden. Through the Eastern pass 7 days travel will take you to the Western border of the Kingdom of Nashar. both kingdoms are on friendly terms and utilize the pass to trade goods of furs, salted meats, grains and nuts.
It is late when you arrived just making it inside before the gates closed for the evening. you are informed that your interview will be at noon the next day
Storm just grunts and nods to the one who informs him of his interview - he finds the nearest tavern and begins to drink ale and devour a meal. When he wakes up, he doesn't bother to do anything but get a quick drink and some food heading off to the interview.
Storm smiles as the man accepts his offer to help looking to he gnome he just grabs his battleaxe"Not disappointed in me, wise choice." is all he grunts out, expecting the gnome to either show him the next way or get out of his way. The snarl on his face showing his lack of patience for the puny creature"No warrior are you small one - make useful and show way."
The gnome looks up at you "Yesss sir Storm" He escorts you to the barracks where you are assigned a bunk, locker, and foot locker to store your gear. The barracks are currently empty except for 1 sleeping dwarf. The room houses 12
Story: Arthmael doesn't know his parents; he was abandoned as an infant and was found and raised by a old druid. Growing up in the forest and mostly only speaking to the few other druids or other forest folk who sought out his master, he is very awkward and uncomfortable in normal society. His master sent him away to learn more of the world outside the sacred grove, and so Arthmael has found his way here, following signs and portents. He struggles to live his life by the ancient strictures of his faith, using them to quiet his inner turmoil.
The gnome looks up at you "Yesss sir Storm" He escorts you to the barracks where you are assigned a bunk, locker, and foot locker to store your gear. The barracks are currently empty except for 1 sleeping dwarf. The room houses 12
Storm smiles barring his teeth"Good..."he just turns back to the door"now show me where I can test my might and honor Kord." as he speaks these word his hand grips into a fist, his desire for combat clear in how he holds himself.
Story: Witnessed his tribe massacred by beings unknown. Rescued/adopted by monks traveling the lands and adopted there ways seeking solace in their teachings. Peace did not set in as the vengeance was always there smoldering deep within, biding its time to resurface.
Story: Born the seventh child of a dwarves lord, Throin was too far down the line to be heir. So while siblings ahead of him made their way into the priesthood or study, Throin set out to seek out meaning in the world. He was taken in by an ancient Gold Dragon, Evrantor, who frequently took humanoid form. Gathering a collection of young misfits to himselfin the ruins of an ancient Elven fortress, the dragon formed an order in service to the cause of good known as the Gray Marshals. The Marshals would travel from village to village, providing support to the local law enforcement and standing against the dangers of the wilds where they pressed against the common folk.
A few months ago, the dragon gathered the order together, and told them that he had a vision of a great evil clawing it’s way into the world. He gave them orders to make their way out, to seek out this evil, and to keep it from ripping the world apart. The next day, as the Marshals gathered their gear, they found that Evrantor had disappeared in the night, leaving them with only each other. Throin and the others set out, each in different directions, to follow the last orders of their master, and to push back against the darkness that threatened the world.
Story: David grew up in the woods with his older siblings, just trying to eke out an existence in the wilderness. His parents died when he was young from a goblin attack, so his sisters and brother basically raised him. He learned to hunt, gather, travel easily through the forest, and would have been happy to stay there his whole life until the day that woman showed up. He had just gotten back home from hunting when he saw his family tied up unconscious in a glowing circle and a drow woman chanting some arcane language. He ran towards her but in a flash they all disappeared suddenly. So he packed up his belongings and some weapons and armor from his father’s time in the army and set out to find them, wherever they are in the world. And while he’s searching, he’ll try to help others on the way.
BS: Poor Gralwynn. Poor, poor Banelemos Gralwynn. All she ever did was work hard, study, and kept to the shrines, did tests and gave prayer for coin. But she is gone now. Now all that remains is Gralwynn Raxivort, the deranged mental fragments of a once fine mind, convinced into thinking herself the rat god after such a terrible transformation, now she wanders about trying to gater strength and garner support. Her splotches of greyed fur over her skin and arched back make one question her lot, and she uses whatever she can to her advantage. Her power now attuned to the forces of nature, she plyes her trade as a healer, and supports those she can ally with; and despite her madness/cruelty, tries to keep good care of her charges. After all, what good is a dead meatshield? Has an affinity for rats.
Basically a support character I made a bit back for a Strahd campaign that went nowhere, thought I'd finally reuse her. Mostly tooled towards support spells and the like, as I've always been a fan of healer and support based classes. I'm on (almost) every day, and can update frequently enough.
"as you wish Storm sir" he proceed to take you to the training grounds where several guards are being drilled. A human rank of captain is barking out orders the gnome goes to him and says "Mashal sir", still watching the troops and barking order "Yes, what can I do for you" "marshal sir Mr. storm has been selected by Mr. Crakenhammer and he wishes to train sir"
The captain looks you over once" Pick your weapon of choice" he points to a stack of wooden padded weapons" Rules are 3 hits or knockout to win loser buys the winner an ale"
Storm just grunts at the gnome as he leads him. When he sees the Marshal he nods at the man and smiles, his time in the military taught him the usefulness of training with foam but it didn't mean he liked it"Steel better - I restrain though"
He lumbers over to the foam stack grabbing a battleaxe and swinging it for a bit to get use to the wait. After he is comfortable he walks back over to the Marshal and gives him a smile"First victims."he just begins to survey the grounds for whoever would be selected.
The captain barks "Patrick front and center" from the group of soldiers you hear "yes sir" as a human breaks from the ranks and picks out a sword and shield from the pile. Take your marks the marks are 20 feet apart the square is 50 feet by 50 feet stepping out will cost 1 point
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Storm smiles barring his teeth as he takes position letting out a loud roar trying to intimidate the boy. The axe just bouncing up and down in his hand as he looks down at the human.
