"Bah elves and their antics." Cormac mutters to himself as he makes his way out of the building as the others slowly stream out, his hand moving to run through his beard.

Sylric makes you all inside the tavern feel awkward for a few moments, while he analyzes each of you and comes up with what he deems an accurate measure of what you bring to the table. He was not joking when saying he has been isolation for nearly 100 years. It definitely shows.
After this, you walk to the wagon where Flint is already waiting for you, dwarf, oxen and wagon ready for departure. Avier, a very merry fellow, puts up a display of his musical capabilities. While he is not putting a lot effort into it, those of you who read Gundren's note, quickly learn he was right, Avier is indeed a fine musician. It is yet to be seen whether his skills with the morningstar match his control of the flute.
Feel free to continue chatting with each other for as long as you want. Once all of you roll the dice (see below), I'll assume you are ready to leave.
Avier and Flint are on the wagon, Flint with the reins guiding the oxen. Sylric walks next to it. Cormac and Gwynn still need to decide what their positions will be.
There are almost 50 miles between Neverwinter and the Triboar Trail. It will take you at least two days to get there. Then, you'll veer East towards Phandalin. The final ~25 miles will take you a day. If you wish to forage instead of spending your rations, please roll three Survival checks (one per day) (https://www.dndbeyond.com/forums/d-d-beyond-general/play-by-post/2985-rolling-dice).
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Gwyyn eyes her rations. While she is unused to foraging in the woods, saving rations for later might be a good idea and decides to follow the dwarf’s lead. Watching what he is doing she rolls 18217
Cormac sees the other search for their food and shrugs as he moves to join them, his eyes at the ready for any animal life he can find. He will take turns walking and riding if ther is enough room.
The couple of days spent following the High Road south from Neverwinter were uneventful. You took turns at stops to forage in the woods. Finding food proved to be a rather simple task. Having a way with nature, Flint had no issues finding enough food to feed half the cadre. Gwyyn, following his lead, quickly learned where to search and what to avoid, bringing back to the camp almost as much food as the dwarf.
You have been on the Triboar Trail for about half a day and have encountered no trouble so far, but this territory can be dangerous. Bandits and outlaws have been known to lurk along the trail.
As you come around a bend, you spot two dead horses sprawled about fifty feet ahead of you, blocking the path. Each has several black-feathered arrows sticking out of it. The woods press close to the trail here, with a steep embankment and dense thickets on either side.
Avier, Gwyyn, and Flint ride the wagon (Flint controlling of the reins). Sylric and Cormac walk next to the wagon, one on each side of it.
Holding my hand silently aloft to stop the team I take two steps in from of the oxen and using all my senses try to see if there is anything around the scene with which to be concerned.
Perception check: 19
(Let me know if this is the appropriate check to make.)
(Should I assume that Avier tries to take control of the wagon to make sure it keeps going? If yes, I'll wait to hear from Flint. Since he's in control of the reins, I'll need to know how he reacts to Avier's action)
(Avier will communicate his "plan" to the others before trying to take control of the wagon, I assumed Flint had jumped down and taken up position. If he doesn't then Avier's action doesn't change except he'll continue to allow Flint to drive)

Flint is willing to jump off the cart for Avier to be bait. Is it possible from this distance to see how long ago the horses died (if needed, medicine 22)

Avier studies his rations for a second before muttering, "Well, it's not bad, but a little fresh food never hurt anyone."
At one of their stops, he hops off the wagon and searches the forest for fresh fruit and vegetables.

Gwyyn also looks at the cart, shrugs and thinks “we’ll, riding is better than walking” climbs up onto the cart.

Avier starts at the sight of the horses, pausing his music briefly to whisper to the others, "Stay out of sight, I'll be the bait."
He slings his shield onto his arm and resumes playing, keeping the cart going while keeping an eye out.
