Sylric will join Gwynn behind the wagon. I will stay 30 feet from the horses and find cover to the sides of the path if available. When I find safe cover I will take a look around.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
From their vantage point on top of the wagon, Avier and Flint spot the dead horses first. Flint quickly brings the wagon to a halt and hops off the wagon, trying to focus on the dead animals. The wind carries the smell of blood and Flint gathers that the horses haven't been dead for more than a day.
At the same time Sylric walks two steps in front of the wagon and just when he's ready to listen to the sounds of the forest he has to quickly get out of the way, as Avier resumes the wagon's march.
Avier approaches the animals, the rest of the party stays 30 feet away from the murder scene.

When the wagon is 10 feet away from the carcasses, Avier hears a swooosh sound, followed by a groan coming from one of the oxen. He now sees one black-feathered arrow protruding from each side of the ox on the right, who takes 16 points of piercing damage and looks rough.
The animal goes into a frenzy and quickly starts charging forward; the other ox follows suit, sensing the stress of his companion.
Avier needs to succed on an Athletics check or fall from the wagon and land prone.
Two small green creatures that you gather are goblins come screaming out of the woods with their scimitars up and try to hit Avier, failing to do so due to the ruckus raised by the oxen. The goblins actually hit the wagon with their scimitars.
Scene:
Sylric, Gwyyn, Cormac, and Flint are now 40 feet away from the wagon and the carcasses, 30 feet away from the two goblins that just attacked the wagon.
Avier is trying to hold on to the wagon while the oxen are rushing forward.
Sylric is able to spot one goblin with a shortbow on each side of the road, behind bushes, 10 feet away from the road.
Cormac will stay back with the rest as he continues to be ready for anything, muttering a prayer once more only one to be interrupted as the oxen charge off in a frenzy. Cursing in dwarvish he looks for what they will be fighting. As he sees the goblins he glares and readies himself.
The two goblins that attacked the wagon try to jump on it (G3 22) (G4 15) and in a very acrobatic manner are able to do so. One of them even does a back flip as a bonus action. They try to hit Avier with their scimitars (G3 8) (G4 16) but they don't succeed. Since the wagon is moving, they have a hard time and end up hitting his shield and the wagon, again.
Perplexed by the dwarf yelling at them in their language, the two goblins on the sides of the road notice the rest of the party and loose arrows at them, attempting to hit Cormac (G1 9) and Flint (G2 8), to no avail. They get distracted watching their peers effortlessly jumping into a moving wagon.
Avier shouts as the oxen continue to pull away, "Someone calm these animals down!" before unhooking his morningstar from his belt and swinging it at the goblin that did a backflip.
(I messed up! Confused Avier's Athletics check with his initiative roll. Avier is actually last. If nothing changes until his turn, I will use what you just posted)
Sylric unerringly fires 2 missiles at one of the goblins attacking Avier. They hit it in the back and almost make it fall off the wagon. It looks hurt. The minor explosions didn't help calm the oxen.
At the same time, a small dart explodes in the chest of the goblin hiding behind the bushes on the right side of the road. It is surprised for a moment, not knowing where the missile came from.
Satisfied with his contribution to the fray, Sylric sidesteps into the bushes and puts the unlit pipe in his mouth (bonus action).
(So you know magic missile does not need a roll to hit and each of the three launched when it is casts at first level do 1d4+1 so you could have missed a lot of damage that you could have done.)

Sylric goes next!
(The oxen are still rushing forward and get even more scared as they hear the goblins attacking Avier)
Avier shouts as the oxen continue to pull away, "Someone calm these animals down!" before unhooking his morningstar from his belt and swinging it at the goblin that did a backflip.

Sylric casts Magic Missile, 2 to G3 & 1 to G2
18 to hit
2 damage each missile, if applicable.
Then moves off the road to the right to find cover and hopefully time to have a pipe...doubtful.
(OOF)

(Interesting. I found this https://rpg.stackexchange.com/questions/109764/how-many-times-do-you-roll-damage-for-magic-missile. I guess it could work both ways.)
