”I wonder what that voice I heard in my head when I transformed was, saying something about a patron deity.” Greyson mutters to himself, before jogging towards the door.
"'... Are in need of my academic and administrative services for a while. Please know I am looked after. I will be back as quick as I am able. Very sorry for my sudden disappearance. Yours Truly...'" Dollus absently narrates as writes quite messily with a quill. Giving a moment to dry, he rolls then seals the scroll before handing it to the butler.
"Uh, can you arrange to get this to the academy, please?" He grins and doesn't stick around for an immediate answer before hastily making it to the door to meet with Pratchett and his allies once more.
Varanus picks 3 pieces of parchment, in one of them he writes down the happenings of the day, his and others transformations, and turns to the dragon "I'm done here, more experiments to go??"
Pratchett leads you out of the green hamlet you found his house in and into the countryside. It's a fair ways to the cave where we will find the first gem, please do your best to keep up!
Several hours in, you make a chance encounter: in the hillside, a young woman dressed in bright red traveler's clothes, leading a bull; the bull is decorated with flowers around its head.
"Oh, fellow travelers; but you are not headed in the direction of the festival. What brings you this way? Perhaps now is a good time to take a rest from walking, and share tales and rumors." She laughs.
Dollus is caught off guard. Things like this wizards didn't mention; hours of walking, getting thirsty and baking in the sun's heat and exertion! It made his usually comfortable clothes unwanted draped that stuck to his clammy skin. But the scenery was stunning, almost straight out of one of the paintings from the academy... Actually, he takes a look around to see if he recognises the area. ((I'll roll what I need here!))
Upon stumbling across the young woman in red, Dollus is glad they stopped. He adjusts the robe, now off and now slung over his shoulder, and straight up sits on the dusty road while greeting her warmly.
"Hey! Uh, yes... Uhm, travellers we are!" He grins. He searches his pockets for a bit of fruit, or waterskin he may have had on him by chance alone.
"No, not the festival. We're following Pratchett, he's leading the way... right?" Despite not getting up, Dollus looks around for the pseudodragon.
"Absolutely! I've heard a few tales. Someone's conducting experiments with us, they'll have a thing or two to share as well!"
Dollus looks back towards where they have come from; it is indeed a famous vista, he can see the capital city in the far distance, the subject of countless paintings of note.
"I wonder how long it took to be built? And however many times some cretin decided it looked nice and tried taking it over." Greyson ponders before greeting the traveler. "Name's Greyson. You are?"
"My name is Audett; nice to meet you." She smiles. "Be careful; up in these hills, strange things roam at night. One of our sheep was mauled to death by something just a few nights ago. Not eaten; just mauled. Very strange." She gets lost in thought for a few moments. "Oh! You have a miniature dragon! What's its name?"
They call me Pratchett, pleased to meet you.
"Oh, it can talk?! This is very strange, where did you travelers find him?"
”He found us, I suppose. About the sheep: have there been attacks like this frequently? Perhaps we could help.” She looks to Pratchett for confirmation.
“But is he strong enough to fight off this mysterious mauler? For all we know, it could be a werewolf or something of the sort.” Greyson responds to Audett’s claim about her ox’s strength.
While admiring the view, the very place they had come from, Dollus over heard Greyson's joke and turns, waving away the jest, "Don't listen; he's being silly."
He turns to Pratchett and whispers, "You think these attacks are related to the group after the gems?"
Shabaka turns to the lady, and whispers to her. I’m pretty sure this dragon is a demon who has us under a charm spell. He might be killing the sheep. id run if I were you.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Asking the girl where those took place, Varanus takes note of every place there has happened something (if i may check to triangulate the possible monster's lair 8 )

Delmyth follows Prachett out as well.

Pratchett's manservant will make sure to postmark Dollus' letter.

Shabaka gives a weak chuckle. I actually think that was me, I was trying to get out of the helmet. Alright, I’ll bite, let’s follow.

"I've heard of a few other similar cases in recent weeks; always the same, mauled but never eaten."
We can see what we can do! In the mean time, please be safe.
She laughs. "My ox is here to defend me, he's stronger than any sheep! But thank you."

To Dollus, It could very well be!
Audett laughs at Shabaka's words, certain that he is joking about Pratchett being a demon. She lets him pet her ox.
Audett lists off various places, Pratchett speaks up that It sounds like they're all around the place we are headed!
Shabaka frowns. Fine. You wouldn’t happen to have seen a Gem anywhere, have you?
