This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Wilhelm approaches, they need no introduction the two begin to talk immediately, she's impressed by his tales and stories whilst the two were apart however she does tease him his inability to find the ship even after all these years at sea. she gives him a small dig "it's very good to have you aboard again" he mentions the confessions "The citadel of a thousand pearls, as for confessions a few of our crew seem to be very quiet Mr Torveir and Mr SilentCreek in particular, I know you're very good with people maybe you can check how they are, other than that I may have some confessions for you yet" She says with a smile.
Beam Reach winds fill the sails the ship now reaching a high cruising speed as they plunged Deep into the void. The flickering orange lights of Shra'kt'lor now fading far behind them as the the black and purples hues of the limbo begin to enveloped the ship. They made their decedent deeper into the chaotic circles of limbo. Captain Aella taps her foot gently to the rhythm of the Void skipper humming a song occasionally allowing the lyrics to slip through her lips " weigh hey roll and go....." closing her eyes she feels breeze and the sway of the ship the tension in the helm " to Be rollikin' randy dandy O...-"
Alphonse Calls across the deck to fire the ballista now that we were out of the range Shra'kt'lor, she chuckles "boys will be boys" scaning the horizon for debris, islands, boulders something the young lad can safely nail without risking the ship or crew. (Perception: 14) "if you can find us a target and be my guest! Perhaps this could be a good time display your skills as well" She turns her head to Leuceus "call up the crew! get this boy and audience" as she turns her head back to face the wheel she's met with a spoon and the curious gaze of a lemur "oh well thank you. " she pockets the spoon keeping in mind to return it later to sweet "I don't believe we've been formally Introduced " she slowly extends her arm for the lemur to climb on "Perhaps you're a stowaway? or one of my crews pets in either case i can't have you getting into trouble. so why don't you sit on my shoulder and help me steer the ship?"
You sail deep into the chaos of Limbo, towards the closest known portal to the Astral plane, hoping that it isn't engulfed in flame or something equally unpleasant when you get there.
Aella sights a small comet, really just a bunch of dust and ice compacted into a rough ball shape; it would make a good target as any. (Lets say it has an AC of 15 to hit due to its small size and high speed.)
While looking through the pantry, Sweet James encounters something unexpected: a stowaway! It is, well, it's vaguely humanoid at least, James doesn't recognize the species. (We have a new player, they applied late but I liked their character concept so I'm letting them join. Introduce yourself, new player!)
(The creature with the spoons is Sweet James's Alchemical Construct, for the record.)
Upon taking the proffered spoon, a short recorded message begins to play. It is Sweet James's voice. "Tonight, I am pleased for to be serving a classic of my very own homeland, Brund soup- a delightful rice-based spiced stew."
Nodding over to Aella, Luci made his way below decks. Ducking into wherever he thought people were most likely to be he called out, starting in the mess after guessing the aroma meant sweet had started cooking. Counting at least two heads he spoke out to them. "Mr d'Cannith is about to fire off a celebratory shot as we set off! Everyone up on deck, quickly now!" Unsure to where Dag and Addison were after looking around for a short time he took a quick moment to place his pack away before taking a breath and calling out in a raised voice "All hands on deck to see our departure!" before heading back up himself to see who made it up.
As Breeze descends into the richly aroma'd mess, she is met with a consternating sight of chaos momentarily ordered into a constantly shifting scene. Sweet James is clearly in his element as he chops, seasons, delicately heats and cools two large cauldrons over differently sized apertures of the oven, roasts the fresh chicken brought aboard that morning, and toasts bread with visible chunks of garlic and salt strewn across them. The kitchen is small, however, and with the speed Sweet James is stepping around, there might not be room for many more. All of this stops when the stowaway is found. A cabinet is opened. Sweet James stares. Whatever it is stares back. This is held for about three seconds before Sweet closes the cabinet and starts speaking in infernal. "Oh for the love of sour pearl jam." He closes the kitchen, halting the food making process to take a five minute break.
Having been given permission, Alphonse wastes no time in searching for a target. His eyes settle on a comet of in the distance. He takes aim, his focus sharpened. His grin is painfully wide as he speaks: "Aye, aye, captain! Let's see how this beauty shoots." He pulls the trigger.
Attack Roll: Attack: 20 Damage: Unable to parse dice roll.
Attack Roll (with Disadvantage, if outside normal range): Attack: 15 Damage: 14
Alphonse nails the comet, no matter how far it may or may not be (distance is often subjective in Limbo); it explodes in a firework rainbow! Little pieces of hail rain harmlessly on the deck.
Waking up in the cabinet when the door was abruptly opened, Zeng rubs their eyes and sits up. If you’ve never seen a Duergar before, Zeng looks like a gray female dwarf with dark long hair and brown eyes wearing simple clothing that have seen a lot of wear, and a longbow is cradled like a teddy bear in their arms.
The open door reveals a momentary picture of large red horns, gleaming orange eyes, and a barrage of smells. The door slams shut immediately, followed by a cascade of disgruntled guttural noises. Pots clatter, oven hatches are slammed shut, and foods begin to steam slowly under low heat. The door opens again.
"Breeze, set the table, please. Looks like we are for to be having an extra guest."
At the tiller above, the abnormal creature taps the fork on the ground and proffers it once again. In another arm, it extends the knife as well.
Wilhelm continues his conversation with the captain:"Well then, I am always available, and am willing to listen to the account of all your deeds and thoughts, so that I may absolve you of your sins, which, I'm sure, are numerous, but none all that deadly". With that, he grins, and continues: "I will indeed seek them out and try to open up their mind to the thought of confessing their sins, and, in doing so, gaining not only absolution, but also a sense of clarity and, mayhaps, a friend in myself". He bows after this, and walks to find either Addison or Dagnal, though he will only approach them, if he feels they are amenable to a conversation.
"NICE SHOT KID !" the captain shouts over the deck, sparkling debris washing over her like a shower of glitter. "Just don't go pointing it at of us now!" laughing as she begins to alter the course the ship swings round a glowing bouy glowing white amidst the darkness. Barking orders to align the sails to the heading and tighten the ropes.then turns to the lemur "I think you'll have to try harder if you want Wilhelm to notice you, he's not the most perceptive" she chuckles. her smile begins to fade as she looks at the deck "Leuceus how's the weather looking? have we got any men positioned in the crows nest? How many of our crew is below deck ?!-" she pauses looking around for her brother "Oh crap i sent him below deck too... "
While Leuceus had spent the time putting away his he had missed the fired shot on his way back. While listening to the falling hail his brisk walk slowed to a saunter as he wondered back toward the upper deck. With the lingering scent of the cooking food still in his mind he turned on his heel to see how long the food would take before it was ready to eat; after all it wasn't as though his sister couldn't handle herself. Heading back to the mess he looked around to see if he could make out what was being made. "Whats going on in here?" He asks toward Sweet, his wandering gaze focused on the pots around.
Walking out from below the deck Addison will mumble to the rest of the group "Did... Did I hear something about food?" Letting off a rather large stretch without waiting for a response he will make his way towards the mess deck quietly ranting to himself "I can't believe I fell asleep as soon as I got onto the ship, that's not how this works."
Breeze takes a few things, and begins to set places. Upon hearing that there would be another, she grabs some extra place settings. Adjusting them so they would be in proper form and distance. Still, when she looked back at the cook, she shrugged. She could do that. Right? All it was, is tossing things in together and poof. They smell and taste good. Yes, she was certain of it. CHaos leads to cooking. But not today. She wouldn’t take up THAT job just yet.
When Zeng arrived from the cabinets, she just blinked. “Is it food?” He asked of Zeng. She didn’t think folks were cannibals here. But. She’d been wrong plenty of times before.
Dagnal is working on looking over a set of planks and wood from various crates, while squinting at his various tools, trying to get an idea of how the heck he might adapt working with stone and metal to wood. He's hiding his nervousness, and humming a Dwarven melody in the darkness.
If approached by Wilhelm, he will raise up a pair of goggles he wears and matter-of-factly and Dwarf-like state: "An' wut dya want?" Depending on the listener he might seem rude, but any more discernible conversant will know he doesn't default to pleasantries when direct inquiry will do.
The disturbance of several additional crew members in the mess, Sweet's head swivels back and forth in a prolonged triple take. After a moment's indecision, he finally shouts, "Out! Out! Everybody out!" As he shoos (carrying the dwarf on his way to the door, he calls out, "Mort! I'll need you down here to keep on schedule."
Above, hearing its name called, the lemur- creature tosses the fork and knife at the feet of Aella, causing both messages to simultaneously play:
"And for our main course, chicken rotisserie, basted...For dessert, I am glad to present the first fresh or... to mallard in a caramel rum-butter marinade and... -ranges lightly powered with cinnamon...seasoned with rosemary."
Mort dashes back the way it came and reenters the kitchen, four hands to help and hold in Sweet's chaotic kitchen.
Surprised by the sudden demands of Sweet, Luci turned his attention to him, only now noticing the stowaway in his arms. Raising an eyebrow to the situation he stepped further into the kitchen and took note of everyone nearby. "Mr Silentcreek I'm sure an extra pair of hands would be appreciated on deck and..." he pauses for a moment to recall the navigators name he had been given "Breeze I'm sure my sister needs assurance we are taking the quickest route." He railed off the demands quickly while keeping his gaze now firmly on Sweet. This time as he spoke he switched speaking to infernal to keep some privacy to what he was saying while the others were there. "What's going on here?"
Breeze looks over at Luci. Her feather’s ruffle as she looks between the table, and Luci. Her beak hangs open, seemingly distressed.
With purpose, she stomps her feet as she heads up above deck once again. Trying to make as much noise as possible while shuffling her way back to the Captain. She pushes past whoever might be around the Captain. Her breaking opening and doing her best Luci impression “my sister needs assurance we are taking the quickest route.” Angrily, she then follows the impression and mockery with the sounds of a gurgling stomach.
Her feet begin to rap on the floor while she waits to be dismissed. Her belief firm in that she has given the best route.
Struggling in Sweet’s grasp, Zeng tries to get to the floor. Then they’ll turn to Sweet and point a finger at him. “Rude sir. Just because I’m smaller than you doesn’t mean you can just pick me up.” Feeling the ship moving still, Zeng asks, “Are we moving? Should we be moving now?”
