Passing through the portal, the crew of the Void Skipper feels a jarring nerve tingle, a sudden shift in direction and all kinds of feeling. Recovering themselves, the crew looks out on an expanse of blue so dark, so deep, as to seem as black as night itself. The ship's fields of force snap on with the crack of sails in a high wind, repelling the infinite walls of water on all sides. Breeze, being most accustomed to the sight of the infinite void, recovers quickest and notices a small blue light directly ahead of the ship - a beacon, beckoning onward to the Citadel of Ten Thousand Pearls.
The ship progresses, its sails catching an unseen breeze. Ahead, off the starboard vow, something looms black against the midnight blue of the plane of water. As we approach, it is an enormous ship, many times larger than the Void Skipper, yet completely dark, it's shield inactive, flooded with water as completely as the expanses in every direction. The bright blue beacon remains firmly pointed ahead.
"Listen up, everyone! I just received a summons from my Temple, requiring immediate aid! This celestial letter included a ring of teleportation, which I am inclined to use. So, good-bye, everyone, and good luck!"
With this, Wilhelm twists a ring on his finger and, in a flash of golden light, disappears from the ship.
Roughly a day after Wilhelm's disappearance, a flash of gold erupts on the deck of the Void Skipper. It looks like a portal, though somewhat muddled. Through it, those on the deck can just barely see Wilhelm's face.
"It is far worse than I thought, the whole universe is in grave peril, I could only get through to you. Take this!"
With this, Wilhelm throws a small item through the portal, which falls onto the deck.
"If we are to have any chance of survival, you must use that to..."
And with that, the portal collapses. Its energy discharge overloads the ship and knocks everyone on board unconscious.
Some time later (which may be seconds or hours), you are all woken up by the sound of the sea. The Void Skipper is in water, acting like a standard ship. The world around you seems mundane, with seagulls flying overhead and the sun shining, though the temperature is quite low, making you feel like you at least need a jacket to not catch a cold. If anyone checks on the ship, it will become clear that the Void Skipper's powers seem to have become non-existent, its engine and the sails being all but shredded.
The item on the deck, again, if anyone checks, looks strange, not resembling anything any of you have ever seen. Even without performing any spells, though, all those attuned to magic can sense, that there is some strong power emanating from it. It looks like this:
The Ship is caught in the stream, which is taking it towards what seems to be a port of sorts. However, if the crew works to change it, the sails are still good enough that they can redirect the ship towards an area that seems to be non-populated.
Zeng nervously walks around the item, trying to see if it would be dangerous to pick up. Barely touching it before pulling their hand back, if nothing happens they’ll gingerly pick it up and look for the captain or someone in charge. “Hello? Is this normal on ships? Sweet, what do ship people do at times like these?”
The item shimmers very slightly when touched. It is somewhat warm, and emanates a very low golden light, roughly on par with a single matchstick. Outside of this, however, nothing else happens when Zeng picks it up.
