The wyrmling doesn’t move, and contemplates Renny for a second and relaxes, it sits down gracefully trying to make itself look a little taller that it actually is. It doesn’t look afraid or angry, if anything, a little tired perhaps.
<— Do they want you to help me or help them? That seems to be the real question here... —>
Renny holds up her hand to the others as a signal to wait and then approaches the dragon a few more steps before she crouches down.
<- I can't be certain of their motives but they say they worship you and are caring for you. I'm not sure a dragon, even a younger one, really needs people to care for it. What do you want? ->
<— Is keeping me a prisoner worshiping? Is feeding me scraps caring? Perhaps those Kobolds mean well, but they do not care for me.. they fear me.. or fear to lose their prize possession if they let me go. The Goblins fear me too, but they are too weak to keep me imprisoned, so I have made sure they would not disturb me. At least here, I can spread my wings and my legs... way more than in that stupid little cage back there.
What I really want, young lady with the golden scales, is my freedom. I want to explore the world, and maybe one day, learn why I was abandoned here as an egg... —>
Renny: Behind you, you hear a small voice, speaking in Draconic as well:
<— Who are you talking to? Is that Calcryx? Our baby? —>
To the sound of Meepo’s voice, Calcryx hisses and changes his pose to a more defensive one, in addition to a few spikes erecting on his head and neck.
Renny frowns and then frowns some more. She glances back toward the door and quickly back at Calcryx at the hiss.
<- Well... then I'd like to help you get out of here. We didn't come here looking for the kobolds or you... well in a way I was... but we were looking for some lost people from the nearby town. I'm sure my companions would help you too ->
She goes back to the door and will attempt to shoo Meepo out of sight, "Guys. Calcryx wants to leave.. to be free..."
Spotty observes for a moment, then turns to Meepo. "Hear that? Your 'god' wants to leave this place. Will you really deny their wish and keep them in a cage?"
Gwenant pokes her head through the doorframe to take a peek at the hissing wyrmling. She can't help but think that it doesn't seem very happy to see them... though Renny looks to be making some ground on that particular front. The gladiatrix looks worriedly between Meepo, the wyrmling, and the pair of unopened doors in the goblins' makeshift archery range. From what Renny and Spotty are saying, there might be a change of plans soon... and they still have no idea what could be lurking beyond the other doors. Quietly, Gwenant creeps up to the door at G9 and attempts to listen through it for any sign of goblins, rats, or whatever else might lurk in the dark.
Gwenant hears no sounds coming from beyond that door.
Meepo stays back from the door and Renny, he gives a confused look to Spotty:
<— He is still too young, it does not understand its true purpose yet! We must bring him back to his .. uh.. chambers! It must be so miserable here .. the Goblins probably are doing terrible things to poor Calcryx, we must bring him back to the colony... for .. uh.. protection! —>
Renny shakes her head, "No, I don't think so. She says she scared the goblins to leave her alone. They aren't strong enough to threaten her. And you are not putting her back in that cage!"
<- She's a dragon Meepo.. you can't keep her contained ->

"No boom today. Boom tomorrow. There's always a boom tomorrow" "No power in the 'verse can stop me"
Hef pulls out his long stemmed pipe and begins packing it. "For those of us that have spent lives in the field, instead of in a tower... can we get a quick sum up of the half of the conversation we're missing? I'd love to know where we stand... it seems like Calcryx is displeased... Maybe we can bring all of this to a middle?" He pulls out a match and lights the pipe, slowly puffing to get the leaf burning.
"So..." Hef begins, smoke drifting lazily from his mouth. "She wants freedom, and they want a dragon to serve. I don't think there's any reason everyone can't get what they want. What if we make sure she's not caged? She can leave whenever she wants, and she'll have a clan of kobolds here to defend her lair. I'm sure she wants to range, but she'll want a place to keep her hoard when she starts getting one. We can even stop by sometimes and trade stories with her."
Meepo starts taking a few steps back towards whence you arrived:
<— I must go back tell the queen we have found our baby, and the path is clear.. maybe she can send some warriors to help with getting Calcryx home... —>
At this point, Zak has ended his rage, and is looking to Hef for guidance on what is going on. He nods along with Hef as they get a summary of the Draconic conversation.
Renny narrows her eyes slightly toward Meepo, "Maybe grab him while we figure this out more? We might be able to literally walk Calcryx out of here."
She goes back into the room with the dragon, <- I want to help you. We have a kobold in our party unaffiliated with those here, named Spotty. There is also Meepo who's been following us to find you. Maybe... if you come with us you can just walk out of here? ->
She can't help but admire Calcryx's colouring and she finds herself with a little smile as she looks.

Spotty stabs Meepo straight through the heart, in a clean and swift movement. Meepo opens his snout as if to say something, but only a puff of air, his last breath, comes out. He falls to the ground. Dead.
In the dragon room:
Calcryx looks back at Renny, whom he seems to trust.
<— Meepo... I do not like him. He did not just keep me in my cage because he was following his queen’s orders.. he enjoyed it. I could sense it.. he took pleasure in watching me suffer.. probably made him feel better about himself.. made him feel powerful.. but in reality he was a coward, a coward who believed himself a dragon tamer. You should have heard the screams and pleas when the goblins freed me. You should have seen him wimper and hide..
As for the rest of them, I will not hold a grudge. They just acted the way they thought they should to keep me around. Unfortunately for them, I am just not looking for any worshipers just yet.. one day perhaps. First, I need to see the world out there. —>
Renny nods slowly as she hears about Meepo and is clearly not surprised, <- He trailed well behind us, wimpering or hiding much of the way. I mean, this is my first time doing anything like this.. but I had the others and I can use magic to defend myself.. ->
She's fairly vibrating at this point, <- I never actually expected to meet a gold dragon here! I only read stories of one in the area.. but of one older than yourself. From long ago. This is amazing! ->
She's entirely unaware of the goings on in the other room, being focused on Calcryx.
Spotty feels a pang of regret... But sometimes that's just what adventurers have to do, he reminds himself, recalling what his dwarven 'father' had taught him. Sometimes, if something threatens you, there's naught you can do but kill it.
Gwenant flinches at the sight of Spotty stabbing Meepo. As the little kobold slumps to the ground, she grimaces. Raising an eyebrow at Spotty, she asks, "So... I take it we aren't getting out of here the same way we came in, then? Or at least, not without a fight or a good trick?"
