Several moments after the other three enter, the black kobold skitters to the portal. Testing with a brave single toe first, Chomp puts it ever so slightly in and then rapidly puls it back to check its continuing existence. A bit of wonder causes his tail to sway and switch. Looking towards the direction of the Queen, but not directly at her, he ever-so-sightly nods thrice before holding his breath, closing his eyes, and plunging through the portal after the group.
As you step through the portal, the world around around you shifts like a kaleidoscope, colors blending seamlessly from black to blue to green and then silver. Disconcerting voices echo around you, words from a time long gone drifting through the transforming world. As suddenly as it begins, the swirling and shifting stops, the stage set for your first challenge. You stand at the South end of a gaunt looking town, each building tall and made with graying wood, two windows and a door per side to give a particularly ominous effect, as if each building watches you. As you peer down the row of what appear to be houses, a cold breeze sweeps down the empty, yawning lane, chilling you. The path you're on leads North through the town or South toward a pair of foothills in the distance. The sun is low overhead, fighting to shine weakly through the clouds.
As Regna rummages with his trunk into his pocket, contemplating the origins such a story, he feels a small draw string pouch which clinks pleasantly and that was not there before. Not only has he found a small windfall, he recalls fragments of a story from the long ago past of a tree with magical fruit which only bloomed twice a year: a pure red apple and an albino one, on the Summer and Winter solstices respectively. It is a story very old in origin, a magical tree lost to time.
BG-004, the first into the portal, was the first out: it kept watch as the others made their way through, alert that in the land of the living they were again vulnerable to death an destruction. (Perception: 10)

Bone Golem peers around, waiting for the others to emerge. He notices that no ones is on the main street, but a lone building down the road has a light on in its window.
Ishtok stumbles slightly as he exits the portal, his senses briefly overloaded until solid ground asserts itself beneath him. He takes stock of his surroundings, looking for anything that might point him towards his goal. The tall houses set him on edge, large wooden faces leering at him through the gloom.
Regna stepping through check the pouch first "I believe we have to find a magical tree. It blooms twice once during the summer solstice and once during the winter." Regna will lead the group down the road.

Closing his eyes and ears to the portal experience, the sudden silence causes Chomp to draw his cloak even tighter around him. We there now we here, he thinks as he takes in his surroundings. Keeping an eye out for small spaces for cover, the kobold nervously wrings his hands together as the group proceeds. Moving a bit slower behind, he'll do his best to move from one hiding spot to another.
As you make your way down the path, down the row of houses that stare blankly at any who pass, Ishtok notices that several of the houses seem to be uninhabited. A few doors stand ajar and the air is cold, nipping at any exposed flesh. The further down the road you go, the more sounds of human interaction you notice, coming from the home with a candle in the upper window. When you stand just more than fifty feet from it, you see a moderate sized, simple sign proclaiming The Drunken Mount Men. This home seems to have been converted into a tavern of sorts, judging by the front. Two large windows stand open, allowing the cool breeze in while the front door is painted a welcoming yellow.
"Will we enter?" Ishtok asks, jerking his chin toward the face with the glowing eye. He files away the information Regna has provided, and looks between the other members of the group (that he can see).
The Bone Golem looks to the Loxodon, the Lizardman, the Kobold and itself. "They may find our appearances frightful. We should disguise ourselves, if we can." The Bone Golem wishes it had some clothes at least, a cloak preferably, to hide its emaciated build.
"Hide my appearance?!" Regna mentions a little offended "Why should I hide my appearance I mean no harm unless harm come to me!" He continues into the establishment.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Chomp waits for the group to enter and moves to the window to observe. Jumping up and down to get in, he'll wait and observe the interactions inside knowing most aren't kind to those of his ilk.
As Ishtok disguises his appearance with a quick cantrip and proceeds into the bar with Bone Golem and Regna, they are welcomed by the sound of a few humans laughing in the corner over a game of cards. By the fire sits an old man plucking at a lute, and the bar is run by a portly woman carrying two arms full of drinks to a table of men. Each at the table is garbed to fight, likely adventurers taking a reprieve for the evening.
"Come in and sit down," the bar maiden calls without looking up from the mugs she balances. Several tables are open on the floor of the bar and a single booth near the back is unoccupied.
Chomp notices a group of women sitting at the bar dressed in various shades of green. They seem to be eyeing the group of Champions that has just entered.
BG-004 follows; maybe people here aren't as prejudiced against strange sights as it is used to, or maybe they are used to strange sights. It takes a seat next to Ishtok.
It several minutes before the bar maiden is free to come to your table with libations. Brown fizzy hair surrounds a plump face with a pleasant smile. She gives each of you an appraising look before clearing her throat. "Well aren't you lot interesting," she says, setting down the requested peanuts and drinks. "I suppose I've seen worse though. Got a fella who comes in once a blue moon who hasn't got half a face. Anyway. What else do you need?" She asks, looking expectantly at the group.
Around the room, several covert glances come the group's direction, but no outward moves are made. The air of the bar seems to have dimmed slightly, even the lute music is softer.
