Hao arrived shortly after Jezerin, eating quietly and half listening while reading a large tome.
"Slaying the dragon sounds like an excellent idea. As fascinating as this tome is," Hao nods appreciatively to Sol "I would be remiss to deprive you all of my shield in order to finish reading it."
Hao's face turns grim. "I hope that we can gather the artifacts and defeat Damian, but I must confess I hold little hope that he can be redeemed. The noble brother I once knew would have fought to defeat such evil that he now stands alongside. If anything remains of my brother he would demand we extinguish the threat, even should it cost him his life."
With a metallic clank of armor, Hao shakes himself and smiles. "Let us defeat this dragon. As you suggest Jezerin, Emon sounds like a promising destination afterwards. We shall see what the threads of fate weave for us."
"Hao, I'm sure you can take the book with you. There will be several days of travel on our way to the Basin. You can probably read a few hours each night. I share your worries about your brother. I'm sorry, but I fear not much of him remains. As a true champion of the Platinum Dragon, he would demand we end the threat his body, and whatever inhabits it, poses to our world." Jezerin puts a comforting hand on Hao's shoulder. "We will make this right in honor of his loss. Your family has suffered much at the plots of these abyssal fiends, and they will pay. Also, Hao, there is something I'd like to speak with you about, privately, when you have a moment. Perhaps after breakfast before we depart south? Or we can talk on the road if you have things to do before you leave."
"Lynneah, I have a thought. Does your organization have any chapters closer to Lyrengorn? Maybe in the Bramblewood? I am looking for teleportation circles that may be closer to Lyrengorn to shorten our journey. I think the Bramblewood is on the way, but any way for us to close some distance would be helpful.
Or does anyone know of a temple on the way to Lyrengorn that would have a teleportation circle?"
