You may not make a bonus action attack against the ball. You may, however, sneak attack it, but since you don't have advantage or an ally near you, it doesn't factor in here. You still beat Helerie's roll.
In the future, I'd like people to specify where they are sending the ball(n, ne, e, se, s, sw, w, nw), I forgot to say that earlier. Please tell me where Ballgoosesmack is sending the ball.

The man in the bird costume hits the ball a second before the paladin gets to it, and it bounces off to 13g. Helerie then scrambles after it, attempting to bash it southwards.

(Not what I meant. I mean come with me as I hit the ball, triggering sneak attack. But, I should be grateful that I can use sneak Attack on an object anyways. So I won’t argue :) )
((Apologies, a couple of questions whilst I get to grips with the game rules as we go:
1. Ok, so the ball went through my space, with 7 momentum points remaining? (Started with 12, moved 5 to get to me?) So if I want to hit it as it comes past me, I'd need to roll 15 to hit (AC 8 + 7 momentum points?), and if I miss I'd take 14 points of damage. Is that right? If so, I'm going to let it past me. (Really just wanting to double-check I've got the game mechanics right)
2. Is there any merit to holding/readying my action? I.e. I can't get to the ball with my movement, but Hjalman is next up. Could I wait for Hjalman to hit the ball in my direction and try to hit it on from there? I know that just the normal reaction rule for when the ball passes through your space would allow me to do it, but would readying an attack in anticipation gain any advantage?))
Either way, Grum is going to move to G20 and wait, hoping for the ball to be hit back to/pasthim (and will react accordingly at that point, depending on the DM ruling on Q2).
The ball did not enter your space. It went 5 feet to the right of you. But you're right with the math.
You can ready your action to hit the ball, yes. That way you can hit it even if it doesn't enter your space and goes 5 feet away from you, as it just did.

((Ok, great. I was stood in G18 though, right? I just assumed the ball was going through the G column? So does that mean that if I stand in F20, and it passes through G20, and I've got my attack readied, I can attack it without risk of being hit by it? Or would I still risk it hitting me if I try to hit a moving ball? Sorry again for all the questions, just trying to get my head around stuff!))
By my calculations that just reaches me. Rather than have to wait due to time zones for DM confirmation, then wait for me to post again, I'll go ahead and use my attack, and if I'm wrong and it hasn't reached G20, just ignore this post!
Your owl could technically take the shove action, but its strength is so low that it would basically do nothing.

Your familiar can never attack. It's a familiar. Your bonus action attack would be with your other baton.

The ball sours south, propelled at mighty speeds by helerie's strike. You can tell that, if it had hit you, it may have possibly killed you.The ball is now at 25g.Nope, GM is dumb, grum has a chance to strike at the ball or let it roll past him.
Grum is up!

RavenloftAnnihilationYou're correct, I'm a bloody fool. Do you want to attack the ball or let it roll past?

Yup.
"Ignorance is bliss, and you look absolutely miserable."
No, that's fine, I'll let it go past, but I'll move to F20 instead of G20 and ready my attack, hoping the ball comes back past.
