"Well, we can't just attack them, can we? I mean, they have weapons and I think they aren't afraid to use them. They're escaped prisoners after all, what do they have to lose for killing a couple more people..."
Juliette quiets down for a minute, thinking of what they could do with this situation. But nothing seems to cross her mind.
"Negotiation is extremely risky as well, though. Who knows what they might do. Does anyone have any ideas?"
”yes, also because... who knows?! Maybe they have no ill intent anymore now that everything is changed, they can start anew. Anyway, I am not the best at...parley “
Uthvern shrugs, "Why dont we 'talk' with them? If it came down to it, I could act as if I'm the negotiator for our group, bullshit a story, and the moment they turn around, strike from behind with a sucker punch." He clenches and unclenches his fist.
George - ‘Eva, can you slink away? We need to be able to get word back to town if this goes south’ would also be nice to have an insurance policy if things go wrong’
"Ah, you're completely right. Sorry, I think I tend to overcomplicate situations in my head sometimes"
Juliette, still a bit embarrassed of how quick she was to jump to wrong conclusions, was pretty much just as quick to get aboard the new plan, that the party came up with.
"Well, if you would trust me to do the talking, I could act as the negotiator as well. To be honest, I am the least threatening in the group. Maybe that could work in our favor. We should at least try to avoid the uhm...punching part"
Uthvern shrugs, "Up to yall on how we play this. I'm fine with whatever decision, but fi we send you Juliette to talk to them, I'd still rather you have backup just in case things do go south."
“I can slink away if I have to, but honestly I rather stay with you guys and fight if we have too.” Eva says very cautious of the situation. “And I second we don’t cross into the town. Say things start going bad, and they all turn on us, with their numbers they could easily surround us and it would be a lot harder to fight our way out if we have too. I say we still try trading with them but we should try and see if they will do it outside the town.”
"Well then, if anyone has other ideas they should tell us. If not, then I suggest that Uthvern and I act as negotiators and try to trade with them, without going into town. We will see if they will trade outside of town instead. If they will - great, if not...well that’s a whole other discussion to have later. For now, does this plan sound reasonable to everyone? I’m afraid strategies aren’t my strongest area..."
Juliette finished and looked at the group to see what they had to say.
Could Uthvern possibly know what faction the prisoners are from in prison? By their tats that show?
The two prisoners you captured said that the majority where MS-13. They have a reputation of being extremely violent and ruthless. As in, cross them and they will kill you, your family and your pets.
George - ‘Eva, can you slink away? We need to be able to get word back to town if this goes south’ would also be nice to have an insurance policy if things go wrong’
The group approaches the barrier (20' back) and Juliette calls "Hello. We come in peace. We have food to trade for useful goods."
One of the guards steps forward to look at what's in the cart "Hell girl! That's a lot of eatin' there. What do ya want in trade?" You show him the list the Mayor gave you "Any of the items on that list." "Okay girly, come on in and I'll get the boss to talk to ya." He starts back to the barricade.
George sotto voce to Juliette: 'We need to find out who's in charge - ask to speak to the Mayor'
I note that Juliette's player has gone to bed so it'll be some hours before she replies. We'll just assume she does to move this along. The guard appears somewhat annoyed. "Listen you people, the boss is busy, if ya want to talk to him come inside."
George then casually wanders 15ft to Juliette's left - still staying 20 ft back from the barrier.
How close is the nearest truck to the barricade?
?. Do you mean abandoned truck? There are some vehicles at the side of the road, they have kept them clear of the barricade (50'+). There are none outside near barricade, they have moved them all behind it.
There are five of them wearing a vest and armed with a machete and a xbow. The area is quite with no civilians.

George keeps up the charade, laughing along - 'Good eyes Uthvern - I completely missed that'
'Juliette - your call as to how we play this, but I don't think we should pass that barricade - maybe they will come out here to trade with us?'
'We should ask to talk to the Mayor - see what kind of response that gets?'
Herman agrees

ooc: and i’m off to bed for now!
Uthvern nods briefly, "Sounds like a plan to me. What about yall?"
The two prisoners you captured said that the majority where MS-13. They have a reputation of being extremely violent and ruthless. As in, cross them and they will kill you, your family and your pets.
Yes Max is there.
I see you have a plan.

Uthvern steps forward, "If it's all the same with you, would it be fine for us to wait out here? We dont mind waiting sir."

He doesn't look happy at this, their boss doesn't come at your beck and call.
Ooc: how would yall want to advance this situation? Wait for our charismatic Juliette to help advance?
