I would normally have you roll an intelligence check on the knots, but you can roll survival with advantage (cause of your bosun history) to set the knot DC if you go this route.
To recap the last pages convo:
The ideas for the dragon are: 1)Antons Snare; 2) several variations of kobold/halfling/monk-on-a-stick; 3)Fey Magic; 4)Bugbear Championship wrestling
"You are very capable when it comes to long range fighting, I assume you will be better suited to use it. You need to get within 15 feet to throw it, but best to be further away then 5 feet so you don't get tangled up yourself."
"It may make sense for me to take point on the talking bit," Geth says. "I can be fairly persuasive when I need to be, and... no offense, but most of you are not exactly brimming with personality. Trying to charm it first would make persuasion easier, though it would only last a few seconds and I would not be able to do it again. So perhaps I should start by working my mundane charms, and if that fails, work my magical charms and give you the signal to proceed with the nets and ropes. The charm effect I have in mind is not like a regular spell, so you will not see any of the usual trappings of casting something, but if it comes to that I will have Arianrhod flutter her wings, which will be your signal."
"My concern is whether you'll even have time to charm if talking doesn't work. However, you are quite the conversationalist and I have faith in your abilities."
With the turtle trap idea not being well received, Anton fashions a lasso out of a length of his rope. He also places a piton on the line to server as a potential anchor point.
He still thinks the turtle trap would have made for a great story, win or lose. :)
"It's a reasonable concern. There's always the risk it will eat me before I get the chance to do it. Or it might not work and it might eat me then. I am fairly nimble, though, and I do have this fancy new cloak," Geth says, pointing to the shadowy aura enveloping his body.
Obsben takes up position 30ft away from the door, and keeps crossbow in hand but not ready to fire. Just loaded in case things go south fast. "Ready whenever the rest of you are." He sounds uncertain, but trusting of the others to handle things.

As they are getting ready to head into the room, Geth remarks, "You know, one wrinkle in the plan to have me do the talking... I don't speak Draconic. You think it speaks Common?"
The dragon stands and spins around to face you in one swift motion. Its not overly big maybe about 5 or 6 feet long, not including tail. Its head swivels around taking in the scene. It moves in between you and it's 'hoard.'

We just want to talk approach.
I suggest following steps:
Talking, including goblin meat or treasure as bribe.
Overwhelm, including spells, nets and ropes.
Last, knock unconscious.
Bhuraelea passes his net to Cassius and sais :

"Thanks, I've never used a net before, but surely I will hit my target."

Bhuraelea double checks his weapons are ready, before he nods at his Comrades.
Let's do this
After waiting for confirmation from the others, he opens the door just wide enough to walk in and goes into the room.
He makes sure to not stay close to anyone else and to slowly move along the wall to the other side of the room.
Obsben takes up position 30ft away from the door, and keeps crossbow in hand but not ready to fire. Just loaded in case things go south fast. "Ready whenever the rest of you are." He sounds uncertain, but trusting of the others to handle things.

Anton enters as calmly and quietly as possible. He sidles along the wall in the opposite direction of Boh. He has his lasso in hand.
As they are getting ready to head into the room, Geth remarks, "You know, one wrinkle in the plan to have me do the talking... I don't speak Draconic. You think it speaks Common?"

Anton facepalms. He thinks to himself, "Human on a stick it is."
Lets hope she does or we go to plan B really quickly.
OOC: How big is the room?
The room is 20' by 25', rounded on the north wall. There is one other door here leading out to the east. You've entered from the south.
Where do you want Meepo?
Calcryx still hasn't noticed you yet. She is sitting mostly still and just pushing the gold cups around with her claws.

Geth approaches and says in a confident but gentle voice, "My, aren't you a beauty!"

Anton swoons a bit, but recovers and hopes nobody noticed.
Scar chuckles as he grabs Meepo and places it on his back whispering, "How do you talk to the dragon?"
Then gets ready to rush into the room and jump onto the wyrmling if Geth gets eaten.
