Scar looks from one of the group to the other and then turns to the dragon kneeling down in front of Calcryx. Scar stares into her eyes and winks and nods his head. He will then turn around and offer a place onto his back speaking to Meepo, "Meepo can you tell Calcryx that if she wants, she can ride on my back for safety as we travel."
Regardless of what Calcryx does Scar is ready to follow the group in the direction back to the kobolds.
Meepo relays the information. Calcryx looks at Scar and starts coughing. It takes you a second to realize that she is laughing. Meepo grins and says, "Funny to look at."
The Kobolds gawk in wonder as you cross the pit trap, which they have locked closed. Apparently, Meepo had passed word of your success. The kobolds gawk as you enter the hall of Yusdrayl's Throne. Calcryx seems grumpy but docile.
Yusdrayl stands, flanked by her elite guard, in draconic: "Welcome champions. You return triumphant and with our favor." I will offer you a choice of the items behind me. You may pick two for bringing her back unharmed, as well as defeating a sizable force of goblins if what Meepo says is true."
To recap: the items on the altar are: quaal's feather token (tree), a elixir of health, and three spell scrolls: mage armor, spider climb, and knock. The key is for the dragon door that you guys already picked that led to the dragon priest troll (ill save you some time).
Oh great Yusdrayl, thank you for your great offer. I am sure my comrades will find your gifts very helpfull. Just i am but a simple person. I have left more gifts for you near the pit trap. The weapons of the fallen goblins. In return i would only ask for two short swords just like the ones your guards are wearing.
"This favor you ask is a humble one. We will grant this for you." She says something quietly to a porter that appeared from nowhere. The porter scampers off toward the pit.
"I do not see a greater number than before. Were you unable to find those that you seek?"
Meepo and several guards have taken Calcryx down the hallway you first entered from. You hear the metal gate shut behind them as they bring her to her new accommodations.

OOC: no plan, Scar just decides that he wants to see the dragon free. And since no one else is posting any objections, thats the way it goes. Bhuraelea doesn’t really care one way or another for dragon or kobolds so he will go along with it. He would have preferred a fightless solution but he has no problem with it either.

Geth says quietly to Cassius, "Translate for me, will you, so Calcryx knows what's going on?" before addressing Yusadryl.
"We have rescued the mighty Calcryx from the goblins. We had agreed to bring her here, and we have done so, but she does not wish to be your captive, and we are not in the business of delivering unwilling sentient creatures into captivity. Therefore, we offer you the following. Since we are not delivering you what we agreed on, we will forfeit the reward you promised us, but you will allow us to escort Calcryx to freedom, and then return to finish off the goblins which is in our mutual interest. You will be better off than if we had not shown up, being in control of the goblins' former territory, and we will leave with the human prisoners we came here to rescue. Alternatively you can fight us and Calcryx, and then, should you defeat us, which seems highly unlikely, deal with the remaining goblins yourselves. Which will it be?"
Obsben, however,"felt" like there was one, or at least a loose agreement about the dragon's freedom and maybe some sort of not clearly spoken plan when another PC flipped a coin, and said 'Okay, let's go back' somewhat out of the blue.

Scar
Once Meepo leaves I will motion to the party to gather round and then whisper, "I have no problem backstabbing the Kobolds they are beneath me anyway but I suggest we help the dragon escape here as well and be set free. Maybe even offer that it could join us, tempt it with a share of gold to build its hoard. I would not mind a dragon as a friend and battle companion. As much as I don't really care that much about Meepo he does seem to be the runt of the litter but he might come in handy, he does appear to be able to speak to the dragon as well as Cass, though the dragon does not seem to like him much.
Obsben
"I don't know about all this." Obsben fidgets on the spot, and if the dragon is sight gives it an awkward glance. "I wanna help the dragon out 'nd all. It ain't right they kept a thinker in a cage. And... I mean, if there's no way we can convince'm to be nicer to the dragon than...I-I'll just follow the rest of you guys lead." He whispers back.
Geth
"I have to say I'm not enamored of the idea of reuniting a baby dragon with a bunch of kobolds and letting them do whatever it is they're going to do while the dragon grows up," Geth says in a whisper. "But I also don't love the idea of letting a white dragon loose into the wild to grow up and do who-knows-what. From what I know about dragons, the white ones seldom turn out to be benign presences in their region. In the short term, however, it's probably safe to assume that this dragon resents both the kobolds and the goblins, and so we may be able to use that to our advantage and sort out the rest later. Cassius, do you want to ask the dragon if it is interested in taking revenge on its various captors?"
Cassius
"Well Meepo is one of its captors. But you're right he could be useful especially in an escape. I say we offer him the chance to help, if he doesn't take it... we put him down."
Cassius takes Geth's advice and asks the dragon, "Do you want revenge on the kobold?"
Anton
Anton is amused by this shift in the group, but definitely agrees that there's something sinister about the kobold's treatment of the dragon.
"I'm okay freeing it and I'm ok if we bring Meepo out, but yes, if he declines he's a threat. My concern is for those we're here to find. We may have to push forward to find them before we return to the kobolds. If we free the dragon, we'll have made enemies of the kobolds, which probably means a fight, and almost certainly increases the risk for those we're here to rescue."
Geth
"The way I see it, we either have to give the dragon back to the kobolds, or fight the kobolds. If we're not going to give them back the dragon, the question is when to fight them? Now, or after we have rescued the hostages? If the dragon will help us clear out the kobolds and the goblins, it seems to me we're better off doing that now rather than later, since the less fighting we have to do while our charges are in our presence, and thus at greater risk of collateral damage, the better. Not to mention, then we don't have to convince them to let us bring the dragon with us to take out the goblins."
Cassius
Cassius adds in draconic to the dragon, "Will you help us find some missing people? We fear they may be captured as well."

Bhuraelea moves closer to the door to keep an eye open if Meepo is close or if any Goblins are coming.

Letting Calcryx hide during any fights or join in if she so choose while we took care of things, if she died while we continued to adventure then so be it if she did not want to accompany us while we continued then I would have offered to at least travel with us until we found a better hiding spot for her. Also not to be a pain in the ass I would have made an effort to be as close as I could to Yusdrayl knowing I would probably attack her.]
[ooc okay super helpful superpost! so i guess our plan is to finish out our mission and come back to fight the kobolds/release the dragon when we're done? The dragon was clear it didn't want to help us fight or find the missing people. The dragon also seems to trust we will return for it or is maybe defeated by the fact she is back with the kobolds. OoC: Thanks for the recap, that's helpful. It sounds to me like there was general agreement that we didn't like the idea of returning Calcryx, since she clearly doesn't seem to want to be the kobolds' captive, but she also didn't want to help us with the goblins. We hadn't agreed on a specific plan, but since Meepo showed up and since we are back in front of Yusadryl, rather than rewind further, does anyone object to Geth's ultimatum? It may result in fighting the kobolds, but only if they choose it. If they take the offer it seems like the best outcome: Calcryx is freed, and we can move on with our mission without further bloodshed. (If people object, I'm fine saying that Geth proposed that plan on the way but was voted down and so didn't actually step up and say it, but I don't think we should try to revert any further back than we already have)

I guess from here we ask the kobolds for assistance finding our missing people as we have returned the dragon and killed some of their enemies?]
