The merchant gives a sigh of relief, "Oh for a moment there I thought you were asking for 50 per person, that would have been my entire savings. I can afford the 30 gp. And yes, we'll be carrying some cargo to my destination. Although we'll still have space for you all, enough to hide about 3 of you I guess. As for the bandits, I cannot tell you, as I've yet to see any myself. I mostly know due to talk of attacks near the forest. I'm being cautious as this is one of my first caravans"
The merchant isn't lying. "And my destination isn't the fort, I'll be headed towards a village to trade my wares there then head back here."
Elwin addressed the group. "Yuno has already offered to ride outside in the open, but that still leaves four. So... who's gonna join her?"
He looked around with a light-hearted grin. He was perfectly willing to stay out in the open himself, if that was deemed best, but asking for a volunteer seemed reasonable.
"I'll be in the open. Between Yuno and I, we should look fairly poorly guarded, if at all." He looks to Yuno, "No offense meant... you do look like a soft target."
Yuno says, "It's... okay. No offense taken." She adds, "If-If you're with me... I won't be so scared."
Also @DM:
If Yuno's going to be in the open, looking vulnerable (like she wants. I'm using the roll I made at the start to carry out this acting: 14 Performance), Yuno will have an action Ready:
If any bandit (or any enemy for that matter) gets within 5ft of her, she will go, "EEK! Don't hurt me!" And then stab the bandit in the chest with her rapier: Hit: 22 Dmg:10 (If an ally is within 5ft of the same enemy or if I have advantage on the attack roll for some reason, add: 3 Damage from sneak attack)
The merchant thanks you all as he shows you all his carriage outside. It seems like a second hand carriage, but in good condition. The horse is fairly young but big for it's age. Inside the carriage, you find boxes of leathers, skins, and tools. And there's a sheet to cover and hold it all down, the three hiding in the cart can hide under it.
(Double checking for any last minute spells or prep work before proceeding with a combat map.)
Then jumps in himself and tries to cover up as well. Stealth: 3
"On the way in here, I think I saw you two fellows from the outside. Perhaps they won't look to hard, I don't know. Maybe you can try covering up a bit more?" He says to the others as he gets himself situated, waiting and arranging his shield to best be able to peak out from behind.
Hollering out to the others, "Yuno, how do we look? Inconspicuous or otherwise? We may as well make sure we are set before we go." he says, as he continues to rustle around, unable to find a comfortable position with his rattling mail jangling.
(Shifting the boxes out of the way can help, I'll roll for your advantages.)

The merchant says there's little time before sundown so there's no chance to try and hide yourselves again. He sits onto the cart and give the reigns a swift crack as the cart starts it way towards its destination. You all leave Saltmarsh, you can tell by either looking back or peering from under the tarp. You take the road by telling the merchant of the shortcut, assured by your presence as he agrees. It is clear why the bandits would choose this route. As the forest is very close to the road while the other side is rolling hills. Easy to hide in the forest and hard for carts to get away.
(I made the position based on posts, I assume I got most of it right but not too sure about Kosh.)

Elwin slips into the back of the cart, his backpack in the bottom near his feet, his spear in one hand and his crystalline focus in the other.
"Whenever you's ready!"

Janter approaches to the cart and looks for anything suspicious, trying to see from the perspective of those who might be interested in ransacking.

After the party tries to readjust their hiding spots, she shakes her head and says, "I-I guess this is the best we are getting... it will have to do."
(OOC: If I recall correctly, the result of a roll represents the best attempt at doing something. )
(ooc: depending on situation, we could get advantage for having someone outside help or by spending extra time at it....up to the dm)
(OOC: Maybe someone can find a tarp for extra covering? Then our rolls effectively shouldn't matter.)

Yuno's position is fine. Also rolling initiative in advance to save time if we get into combat.

Kosh's position is fine. He tends to range ahead and be impatient about getting to The Work.
