As the cart goes, you notice something from behind. The glint of steel shines in the trees as you pass by. Looking at it, you can see some figures in the trees, carrying bows.
Up ahead, you can see a few figures standing in the middle of the road. A large one stands at the center, holding a maul, while flanked by two others. The merchant looks to Kosh and Yuno, asking if he should stop.
"It seems we might have found what we are looking for.... though, I don't know if that's a good thing. Watch out for those fellows hiding in the trees with their bows. I say we hold here, so as not to let them surround us! " Janter exclaims, pointing out figures in the trees. "You should shout to them to ask their intent, so we can be sure. Tell them you don't want trouble, but don't give us away."
Elwin quickly reached up and grasped the crystal on a string around his neck. He tapped the closed fist to his chest and quietly whispered the arcane words to activate his spell. A chilling frost spread from his hand to cover his body, and after it finished, he quickly tucked his arcane focus under his armor.
Turning his head to look behind them, he gripped his spear with both hands, ready to leap out from his hiding spot at the first sign of trouble... or on the word of those riding outside the cart.
Gedyr grip his bow and readies an arrow....and remains in his hiding place
Does Gedyr think they are well hidden enough? With Elwin casting and Janter speaking...along with some difficulty finding a good spot maybe he is aware the hiding is not working....
janter loudly whispers again "Why are we not stopping the cart? I'm telling you there are figures out there in the trees! Stop here... and back up some if we can... don't let them surround us!" He again points to where they are hidden in the trees.
The one besides the man raises a hand and then you see more people emerge from their hiding. Then the man speaks, "We are going to take your cargo. If you let us, we will let you go afterwards. But if you don't, we will ransack the whole cart. We have no wish for blood to be spilled but we have need of your goods. So stand aside to avoid conflict, if not, then we shall subdue you for a short while." The merchant does stop at the mention of ransacking, he looks to the Kosh and Yuno, a bit put off by the sudden announcement of being unarmed.
Kosh moves to the wagon and pulls his greatsword from behind the seat. "I'm here to protect these two. If you're going to take their things, I have to try to stop you."
Janter waits quietly next to his shield, like a castle rampart for them to approach or shoot first. He fidgets with what looks to be a small metal wood carving awl in hand.
If shot at, or they look like they start to approach, He casts ray of frost cantrip at the closest one not yet in mele range: Janter quickly taps the woodcarving implement in 2 quick beats on the edge of the cart, with little chuckle minute grunts and with a small flourish looking to be carving a quick scribbled glyph in the air itself, a bluish white line races to his target with an Icy crackle. Attack: 11 Damage: 2 (not sure if I entered this right in the dice roller... we'll see... might have to test rolling somewhere and then try entering it again if it doesn't work like inteded... should be d20+5, then a damage die of 1d8)
(Elwin will ready an Action: IF hostilities start (from either side,) THEN he'll cast Frostbite at the closest enemy (or the first to get within 60 feet, although I think some are already in range.)
While waiting in anticipation, talking in a hushed tone to to yuno and the others in front, "Do any of you by chance see any Half-Orc Bandits here with some fangs broken off? If you do, that's a bandit wanted for capture for sure. Maybe ask if he goes by RockJaw if you see him..." Janter states, glancing at the notes inside his shield. "Ask him to come quietly."
He tries to see if any of the three in the trees to the side of the cart might fit that description, or the description of the escaped convict.
Seeing Kosh raise his sword and getting ready to fight, Yuno seems to think something. She then says in a voice that is louder, bolder, courser than the voice she had till now, "**** it! I was getting bored of being weak and frail anyway."
On her turn (Previously rolled initiative was 15) Yuno will run up to 5, draw her sabre while running up then she will attack 5, using the momentum of her run to thrust the rapier into 5 and then slash his head off with the sabre.
Rapier: 11 Dmg: 7 Saber: 7 Dmg: 4
Also does Yuno see any half-orc bandit with broken fangs?
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Gedyr is going to bail from the cart and move to the side opposite the forest to give him cover from that side.....He will notch and arrow and prepare to fire, Holding his attack until hostilities start.....once they do he will take a shot at whoever is on the road in front closest to him....
Move to G6
Held attack in case of hostilities Attack: 18 Damage: 7
(Just a heads up, each square is 5 feet. So both Kosh and Yuno action would have needed a dash to get to their target.)
The bandit leader nods his head, "We have no desire for blood, but we will fight for what we need." The bandits then move closer, unsheathing their weapons as they walk closer. Behind the cart, the archers leave their perch as they slowly approach from the back. From the looks of it, they're mainly humans. A few tanned and some fair skinned, although none bare the green skin of orc heritage.

Janter pears out from behind his shield trying to watch the road ahead for possible threats along the way. ( Perception 18 )
"Let's be Vewy vewy quiet, we're hunting wabits.. er, bandits." he whispers, then coughs, clearing his throat.

It was time; combat seemed eminent.

Kosh continues walking. Ready to be ambushed with his not wearing armor and lax seeming attitude.
Yuno nervously walks beside Kosh even as the white haired man walks into danger. Maybe she feels safe around him? She grips her Rapier tightly.
janter loudly whispers again "Why are we not stopping the cart? I'm telling you there are figures out there in the trees! Stop here... and back up some if we can... don't let them surround us!" He again points to where they are hidden in the trees.

Kosh stops and looks in the direction indicated by Janter and shouts, "Hey, we are very unarmed. Do you have any ill intentions?"
(Sorry for delay, holiday rush week.)

If each square is 5ft, I should be able to reach No.5 by going to M7/M6 and attacking, right?
(You are able to now yes, they spent their turn just walking closer.)
