Thamior comes from an elven village in Neverwinters surrounding forests. Growing up under the trees Thamior was always fond of nature, he would spend his childhood stalking rabbits and elks throughout the forest. He watched as wolves hunted elk with such ferocious grace and disregard for their own safety. He learned the elven fighting technique of his people, but never had the knack for the magic his ranger companions had.
Later in life, Thamior became a hunter and trapper for his village. He would hunt for food and pelts, travelling to Neverwinter to sell the hides and antlers to the local merchants. One day he found a lone donkey on the road and befriended it (if DM will allow it), from there on Thamior never left Donkeys side, often choosing to sleep next close to Donkey if it was to be in a town stable.
At 150 years of age Thamior has entered his "early twenties" and wishes to travel the world. He still does his regular hunting trips to and from Neverwinter, but has started to look around for opportunities for adventure.
Thamior is known in town for being a terribly bad haggler. He doesn't care much for money and he will gladly sell his pelts for some coin and a story.
About me:I've played d&d on and off for the last 7 years. But this is my first time trying a play by post.
I will probably post 2 times a day. I love to read so I enjoy roleplaying and describing what my character does.
Taro was born in the heart of Netherwinter, his parents were well-to-do innkeepers until their untimely deaths in an orc raid when he was only 7. The elderly gnomish tinkerer Drenken Tyh took pity on the young orphan and took him on as an apprentice. He quickly picked up the trade and became a bit of a prodigy.
Shortly after Taro turned 17, Drenken suddenly passed away, leaving him alone again in the city. He collected his contraptions and flasks, and went to find his way in the world. Looking to experience the world outside of Neverwinter, he seeks out the adventurer's guild hoping to be able to put his skills to use outside the confines of the city.
About me: I've played dnd on and off for about 5 years, only ever through the play by post format (mostly due to RL obligations). I've had a few games that got some really good traction and lasted for several months or more. I enjoy both some of the RP aspects and the tactical side of combat. Hope to be able to join the party.
Wow - 19 competitors so far and a day and a half left to go! Thank you for all who have submitted a character so far. I have read all of your backstories and character concepts and love the group that will form from these entries!
Lark was a house servant for a very affluent writer and poet. Over the years of service, Lark read a lot of books and possessed of an above average intelligence (especially for a goblin) he actually learned some things. He writes poetry and uses big words, often incorrectly, and he desperately wants to be a part of something. His master died recently and Lark decided that he should start his own oratory career. He loves music and is quite skilled with stringed instruments. Though his most recent obsession is the pan flutes, for its ease of transport.

"Every Goblin Lord should have a herald who would pontificate on your behalf. One who stands obstreperously against the throng and resist the temptations of sedentary life. To fight and flee forever free from frugal furnishings, for that is the unending quest of the adventurer."
Lark will continue to ramble like this for a while....

Thanks for making this a tough choice! Lots of great character concepts and writing styles to choose from - if I had more time and creative ability I would run two groups. However...I recognize my limits, and want to give the team my best effort. So I have narrowed the list down to my top contenders - barring any late inputs today! I will send PMs to the final six players this evening to formally kick this thing off, and post the results here so everyone knows.
Again - thank you for applying to my party! If I don't select you for this game, hope to see you around the boards in another one =)
Finally - Happy Father's Day to all the dads out there. Do you know when a joke officially becomes a Dad joke?
OK - I'm calling it. I had to make some hard choices to whittle this awesome group down to just six players, but here is the party. PM's on their way with links to the Campaign tab and thread.
