Enialis shows some surprise as he listens to the kids talking about their baby brother. "Let's go." Is all Enialis says before he starts to make his way towards the house.
Hadrian has little trouble breaking the door down and as you all follow him in, you find that the fog advances with you, stopping at the door. Hanging on the wall of the entryway is a shield emblazoned with a a stylized golden windmill on a red field, flanked by framed portraits of stony-faced aristocrats. At the end of the entryway there are Mahogany-framed double doors that are set with panes of stained glass. Passing through them leads you to the main hall of the house, where you see wood-paneled walls are ornately sculpted with images of vines, flowers, nymphs, and satyrs, as well as a black marble fireplace with a longsword mounted above you. There is one door at the south of this room, three doors at the north end, one door at the east, and a staircase directly across from the fireplace.
Phanuel enters an oak-paneled room that appears to be a hunting den, judging from the stag's head above the fireplace, as well as the stuffed wolves that have been positioned at the outskirts of the room. Two padded chairs draped in animal furs face the hearth, with an oak table between them supporting a cask of wine, two carved wooden goblets, a pipe rack, and a candelabrum. A chandelier hangs above a cloth-covered table surrounded by four chairs.
Two cabinets stand against the walls. One appears to be locked, while the other does not.

“I don’t like this,” says Hadrian. “Let’s find the child and get out of here.”
Hadrian looks at the sword, then looks up the staircase. "I will check upstairs.” Without waiting for a reply, Hadrian bounds up the steps, two at a time, shield in hand...just in case.
Hadrian goes up the stairs to find the upper hall. Unlit oil lamps are mounted on the walls of this elegant hall. Hanging above the mantelpiece is a wood-framed portrait of a noble family: a lord and lady with their two smiling children who look eerily similar to Rose and Thorn. Cradled in the father’s arms is a swaddled baby, which the mother regards with a hint of scorn. Standing suits of armor flank wooden doors in the east and west walls. Each suit of armor clutches a spear and has a visored helm shaped like a wolf’s head. The doors are carved with images of dancing youths.
The red marble staircase that started on the first floor continues its upward spiral. A cold draft can be felt coming down the steps.

Hadrian calls down the stairs, “Have you found the child? I believe I have found the older children’s rooms, but I think the nursery must be on the upper floor. I will go and check.”
If no affirmative reply comes from downstairs, Hadrian will continue climbing the marble staircase.

“I’m not that old.” Enialis replies as goes over towards the locked cabinet and says, “Something important may be in here. So....I’m going to pick it.” He says checking it for any nasty things first, just in case, and then picking it.
"You're a hundred and fifty, and that's ooooold by human standards," Fae points out with a giggle, following her brother. She knocks the chandelier with her quarterstaff idly.
Enialis finds no traps, but he is not able to pick the lock.
Hadrian and Elyse climb up the stairs to find dusty balcony with a suit of black plate armor standing against one wall, draped in cobwebs. Oil lamps are mounted on the oak-paneled walls, which are carved with woodland scenes of trees, falling leaves, and tiny critters. There are two doors to the east, one door to the south, and one to the north.

Phanuel enters the kitchen. The room is tidy, with dishware, cookware, and utensils neatly placed on shelves. A worktable has a cutting board and rolling pin atop it. A stone, dome-shaped oven stands near the east wall, its bent iron stovepipe connecting to a hole in the ceiling. Behind the stove and to the left is a thin door leading to what you can assume is the pantry. In the southwest corner is the dumbwaiter, but it's clear that even the smallest of you wouldn't be able to fit in there.

Elyse stands in the middle of the room and closes her eyes, using Divine Sense in an attempt to find the monster that the children had talked about.
As creepy as this uninhabited old house is, your Divine Sense does not detect anything in this immediate vicinity.

"No monster... Probably." Phanuel calls over his shoulder.
Fae makes a face. "Eww...gross." Her face lights up in another grin. "But also cool! And really old! Maybe even as old as you, Eni!"
