Adventurers of all races, I am currently recruiting 4-6 players to take on adventures in the Tales from the Yawning Portal.
ABOUT THE DM - I am a moderately experienced DM, but fairly new to PbP DMing. - I am fairly good with the D&D rules, however mistakes can happen (I'm only human)! - I play D&D for fun and am not too strict about rules, as long as things seem to be going smoothly and fairly. - Feel free to bring any concerns to me at anytime, I listen and am open to discussion!
ABOUT THE GAME - The adventures will take place in Faerûn in the Forgotten Realms, starting in the city of Waterdeep. I would like to know your character's place of origin and experience with the lands (traveled a lot already, foreigner and new to Faerûn, city or village person, etc., no need to go into too many details). - Tales from the Yawning Portal is a collection of adventures, and it’s possible to play them as a campaign, but there won’t necessarily be an overall plot. Mostly, a group of adventurers going from one mission to another. Depending on how things go, we can build an overall plot or just have fun exploring the various adventures. - I want this campaign to be for characters and group development, so will encourage characters interacting with each other a lot, and build relationships and stories together in addition to whatever adventure they are on. - I will try to use maps and visuals when possible. - Feel free to roll checks when you think it applies, I can always adjust the modifier if necessary. - I will post 1 to 2 times per day (usually around 12 pm and/or 6 pm MDT), to allow time for all players to get their turns in. - Initiative will be relaxed, and when it comes to fights, I will post the Initiative in the post where the fight begins.
ABOUT THE PLAYERS - You will be nice, respectful, have fun, and creative with the story we build together. - You will use a color(The DM's will always be this color when NPC's are interacting with the players),for speaking in character in the posts. - You will try to post daily if possible, and give a fair warning when away for more than 3 days* - If possible, you haven’t played/read through the Tales from the Yawning Portal adventures yet; or if you have, you will not use that knowledge. - You will avoid meta-gaming (your character will still act based on his own knowledge and experience, not the players) * Life happens, and I totally understand D&D is not a priority in many cases
ABOUT THE CHARACTERS - Any official race and class** - Level 1 characters, roll for abilities (4d6 drop lowest, re-roll ones and you can re-order the scores) - Standard equipment, but we can discuss minor modifications before starting the game - Milestone advancement, fixed HP and active encumbrance rules - No Evil alignments ** I Do Not Have Content Sharing Enabled For this Campaign. You Unlock What You Need!

Place of origin: waterdeep..ish
backstory: Thrak spent his youth and earlier years as a soldier. Fighting alongside his comrades for the glory of his clan. Before long, it was realized that his mind was much sharper than his blade.. and he was quickly moved to a more strategic role. For years he worked alongside high ranking members of his clan developing battlefield manovuers and tactics.. Thrak always was one to think outside the box and After speaking with his supervisors.. he was provided some dark texts and books that he was told had been recovered from a raid some time ago. Thrak began to study these texts and use them to help his clan. about player: Long time fan of role playing games but had only ever played them on PC and game consoles. Once I discovered this site I have been playing games on here ever since. I am a father of three and work in the IT field.

Character Name: Kando Rythmar Class & Race: Gnome (Forest) Wizard Alignment & Background: NG/Sage Place of Origin: Waterdeep Backstory: Kando is a bookish sort and came to Waterdeep at a young age to expand his knowledge of the arcane. While he found himself to be a quick study in the theory of magic, the practical side was always more of a struggle. His professor and mentor recommended a bit of a trial by fire to expand his practical knowledge, so the young gnome has left the safe confines of the academy to test his mettle as an adventurer. About me: I've played on and off for about 5 years, only ever through php due to life responsibilities. I've played a few fairly successful and lengthy pbp campaigns as a rogue and bard. Both were rooted in lost mines, one spun off into more of a custom setting the other stuck by the book. I've taken a bit of time off, but recently got the itch to pick up another campaign.
Character Name: Xavnan Lightfingers Class & Race: Half-Elf Bard Alignment & Background: CG/Sailor Place of Origin: Waterdeep Backstory: Xavanan loved the stories of Adventure from an early age. As he got older he started to make up his own. His life was dull within Waterdeep and the stories he told made his life seem worthwhile. Visitors to the city found him interesting, women fawned over him, but the excitement was short lived as it would not take them long to find out from the locals that he was but a woodworkers son. The only battles he had was with getting his assigned deliveries done on time. Realizing that his reputation was tainted and everybody was growing weary of his tales Xavanan decided it was time to move on and travel. Getting a deckhand job with the first crew leaving port, he set sail trying to make his stories a reality.
Character Name: Rivon Quickstep Class & Race: Halfling Rogue Alignment & Background: Chaotic Good - Urchin Place of Origin: Neverwinter Backstory: Exiled from his village for no reason at all (it wasn't his fault that things kept slipping into his pockets!) Rivon ended up in the streets of Neverwinter. Living off his wits and his nimble fingers, he did well enough. He's come to Waterdeep out of a desire to see something new. Player Bio: Played a few tabletop RPG's as a kid (in the late 80's). Did a D&D campaign in 2001. My kid is 15 now and he's getting into D&D, which brought me back with a smile. We're in a campaign with some adult friends and their teenage son, but we can't play as often as I'd like. I'm in two other PbP games, but both have just started and I don't know exactly what to expect from them. In person I'm better at mechanics than roleplaying, but I'm getting working on getting better at the RP side. In the forums...well, we'll see how it goes, but I'm looking forward to giving it my best immersion effort.
Place of Origin: (I’m not good with dnd settings) she’s from a kingdom but now lives in a quite village outside the castle walls.
Backstory: Agnes is an old woman now and her adventuring days are long behind her. She has settled down with her wife, Rosie, who is one of the best pastry chefs in the realm. She is adventuring once again because her great grand nephew has said to have turned evil and she is back adventuring to become powerful enough to confront and stop him.
Alignment & Background: True Neutral/ Entertainer Place of Origin : Underdark Backstory: Boo was born as a human slave to the drow. He spent most of his childhood in cages, forced to dance and preform for his masters. As the years went by many creatures began to visit him by his cage. And they would talk to him. Tell him about the surface. The Sun. The grass. Trees. It all seemed like a dream that something so beautiful could exist. One 'day', Boo awoke to his cage open and all the drow asleep. A glowing white elk stood outside it, beckoning him closer. The elk told him of the world outside. Of the gods of nature and light. When it was done telling it's story, the elk died. Soon after, Boo emerged from the Underdark, his skin pale from the lack of light, but his heart burned with joy. Now, he could experience the light for himself.
Ability scores: 16108171214 Character Name: Veytoranimus Etranomicon Class & Race: Warlock/Half-Elf Alignment & Background: Chaotic Neutral/Far Traveler Place of Origin: Feywilds Backstory: A native to the strange and chaotic ways to the Feywilds Vey has set out into the world to experience all this new plain has to offer! Link to Character: ddb.ac/characters/12889142/0zBPjQ If you want to, a little about you as a player and what you expect from this game: I have played in a few play by post but post fizzled out would love to be apart of a continual game.
Character Name: Cyst Class & Race: Human (variant) / fighter Alignment & Background: CN , sailor Place of Origin: Waterdeep Backstory:
CYst has grown up in Waterdeep and worked at the dock at first, then during his lvey of one year he worked in the navy and learnt basics about fighting (I have put the feat polearm, he finds he is talented). He like to frequent inns and pubs, drinking and gambling.
Ability scores:161414141014. Character Name: Cade Bleakstone Class & Race: Barbarian & Goblin Alignment & Background: Neutral Good & Mercenary Veteran Place of Origin: Neverwinter(Outlier Farm Areas) Backstory: Cade start is an unremarkable tale, as no doubt many an adventurer get their start in similar ways. He grew up on a farm, and of several siblings was the more down to earth. Yet, his uncle stories of adventure left there mark over time, eventually compelling the lad to declare a desire to seek it out upon growing up, or at least acquiring the next best thing.
In the many months that followed, Cade's uncle and father eventually relented, allowing him to join his Uncle's current band of mercenaries known only as the Crimson Tears. Over the years Cade's original determination flagged under the many hard truths of what it meant to be a mercenary even of good standing. Unfortunately, on what was to be his last job before returning home to the farms, disaster struck during an escort mission. Though the details remain foggy in mind due to some magical mishap involving their VP, the more direct results to his own stature could not be so easily forgotten. Believing he could not return as a goblin, a saddened but determined Cade turned his attention to discovering a means of reversing his fate: One gold coin and a favor at a time. Link to Character:https://ddb.ac/characters/12864656/3XYacA If you want to, a little about you as a player and what you expect from this game: In all honesty, many of your other applicants summed up my personal expectations so well that it's hard to put down something doesn't feel like a copy & paste set-up! If I had to add anything to what's been said however, it is less an expectation and more a non-deal breaking hope that out the box tactic player tactics aren't met with little more than a flat 'no'. G As for what to expect from me aside from diligence, honesty, and at least a years worth of D&D 5e player experience(most of which is PbP)… I can't think of anything that would stand out personally. ._.;

Sounds great. Would love to join.

Character Name: Orl'tid Bitsy Nihiladi
Class & Race: Goliath Fighter
Alignment & Background: Lawful Neutral; Outlander if acceptable thought Soldier might be more appropriate
Place of Origin: Luskan
Backstory:
Short version - originally born to "civilised" parents in Luskan, family mostly lost in a fire, following a period of unjust incarceration and then conscription she tried to return to her mother's tribe (where, being only 7'1, she earned the name Bitsy) but found that the Goliath had been mostly educated out of her, and having picked up a long-term injury needed real big-city healing that she's paying off working as a caravan guard.
Long version :
Everything about her beginnings was civilised and comfortable. A safe and controlled home birth in a warmed pool in her mother's alchemical lab, her own room with a balcony overlooking the Mirabar and walls thick enough to block out the sounds of her brothers wrestling next door, a tutor who never said but often hinted at his lofty position in a certain nearby tower. But this was not the life she was born for - she knew this because her mother would often tell her so, and speak in wistful tones of life on the Spine, where the world was your window with rock as your mattress and the sky as your ceiling. Of the great lion of the Moun na'Krinyea who protected their peak - that one there, that bit the sun at noon if you watched from the kitchen window. Of the old ways, and how this life was making them soft. Sometimes she'd look at her brothers cheerfully snorting blood back up their noses and trying to refit teeth, and wonder if this was soft, how hard did hard get?
The fire tore through their neighbourhood like a butler's knife through daddy's rare steak. She didn't remember much, there was too much smoke and a lot of shouting. They told her after that some of her father and elder brother's bodies were found. Of her mother there was no sign. There was however a small crowd barking at a city watchman about how they saw what happened, and they saw who did it, and there were a lot of fingers pointing in her direction because there were not a lot of other women over seven feet tall in the city.
Life in a cell was not civilised or comfortable. But it was better than dying, and if you followed the rules and didn't make eye contact with the guards it could be bearable, especially once you realised that while you were the vulnerable one in your family almost everywhere else you were a hulking behemoth who could tie people's legs into a double windsor if they crossed you. Whether it was her prodigious strength, good behaviour or a combination of the two, she eventually found herself volunteered to assist in many municipal projects that got her back out under an open sky - something she'd never really appreciated until it was taken away. She resolved to earn her freedom and return to her mother's people, to learn the old ways and to cast off the softness of the city.
Her chance came when a local horse-lord got ideas above his station and the city's cells were skimmed for conscripts to fill out the Underfoot regiment, expendable soldiers good for breaking a charge and naught else. Through a decent performance on the battlefield she commuted this commission - by way of cracked skulls, broken charges and the shrill mewling of fresh-lamed horses - into a more appealing infantry position in the regular army, learning discipline and tactics and earning a salary and the possibility of a discharge back into civilian life & freedom.
Unfortunately, sometimes you get exactly what you wish for. With no job to fall back on, she spent a few months frittering away her savings trying to track down her mother and younger brothers. When the money ran out she fell to scavenging, then begging but it's hard to look sympathetic when you can bench-press a wagon. Too soft-hearted for thuggery, to proud to whore, she had nothing, nothing but the rock below her and the sky above, and the spine of the world stretching from horizon to horizon. But that was good enough for her mother, maybe it could be good enough for her too.
The route across the Ice Lakes to the mountains and the territories of the Moun na'Krinyea was treacherous, especially with no guide and little by way of supplies, but she just kept those jagged god's teeth to the fore and trudged on, always looking at noon for the peak that bit the sun to direct her. Was it her hardy goliath blood that got her there? Her training? Destiny? The fact that if she were to die now I'd have wasted a lot of time on this? Who can say. But she found her tribe. Her people. The Moun na'Krinyea. And they laughed at her armour - how it coverd her midriff; and her dinky little sword - no bigger than a baby's arm! and her height - she was like a dwarf! So itsy bitsy! But none would deny her her place in the tribe, so long as it was earned, not after the way she snapped Bearcrusher's arm when he laughed at her armour and her sword and mocked her height. He would be missed if he didn't return from his Restoration Walk. I digress.
I'd like to tell you that she made a life for herself and died old and happy on that mountain. Or that something came for them all in the night, leaving her a sole survivor consumed by vengeance. Alas, the truth is a little more banal - She learned much of the old ways, but she never found the peace she hoped they'd bring her. This nomadic life created a lot of unnecessary hardship, the constant competition for food and water was literally barbaric, and ok, she'd found a husband but what else was there to do during the long winter nights? Raven Rock didn't exactly have a theatre district!
After being caught in an avalanche during a seasonal migration she was swept down the peak and left for dead - no hard feelings, a rescue that risks the tribe for a single life is a fools errand, she knew that. But this was an opportunity - without proper healing her left leg was never going to be right again, she might as well be dead on the side of the mountain far as the tribe was concerned. A "Northlook Divorce". Once more she was free. She set it as best she could, limping and then clawing her way to Mirabar, and wracking up a large amount of temple debt. This she has steadily paid off over the last 18 months working as a caravan guard across the sword coast. Which, conveniently, is how she came to be in Waterdeep on this fine evening.
Why are you still reading this? The long version is for me to justify certain traits to myself! If it were interesting she wouldnt be Level 1 at the end of it, she'd be a dracolich! Read the short version!
Experience :I've been playing tabletop RPGs for around a year and a half, various rule sets (mostly running on OSR, Fate and PbtA chassis), have been playing 5e for just over a year and have never in that time had a sit-down game, it's all been PbP so I'm comfortable with that as a medium. I've been in a slow paced game of LMoP since January, so I'm not afraid to commit to a long haul.
I haven't committed PC on PC violence in ages and the last time was by agreement 'cause it was the very end of the adventure and both our characters appeared to be superfluous to the story. Oh and I once murdered my entire party in space but in my defense, they started it and it was a hell of an ending.
I have DMed PbPs one and a half times (Icons and Labyrinth Lord) and I like to think it informs me a little as a player to be a bit more understanding of DM errors, DM quirks and DM frustrations. It doesn't but I like to think it does.
As a player on DnD Beyond, I write very short posts with no formatting in the evening and very long posts with bewildering formatting and ludicrous amounts of internal monologue during the day, because the interface for this site is a massive pain in the hole on mobile (basically, you have to turn your phone sideways to get hte formatting bar. But you also have the keyboard. So that leaves you around 3 pixels in height for the text box you're typing into. Also, if you get interrupted during a long post, the site intermittently reloads the editor and clears all your text) If selected, I may occasionally have to edit the colours in when I have access to a PC.
I put the U in colours. Because I'm not a savage.
I'm very old and can be cantankerous if I see a whippersnapper on my lawn. You're not a whippersnapper are you?
I feel dirty about rolling 4 and dropping 1 and rerolling the first 1 on any dice but i still did it because everyone else is doing it and I'm petrified of missing out on higher rolls and epic feats of derring-do. I guess that tells you quite a bit about who I am.
I have never played a fighter or a wizard. Instead I keep pitching warlocks to these PbP recruitment posts, despite knowing it's a kind of broken railroad class... I just like invocations!
What do I want from the game? Ideally a DM who answers all my posts within 20 seconds but will hold the game up for me indefinitely till I respond! Realistically I'm just here to have fun, roll dice and get achievement-based endorphins that reality can't deliver.
Character Name: Nicolai Class & Race: ranger aarakocra Alignment & Background: neutral, the only survivor(that he knows of) from home Place of Origin: still a bit young, he never learned the name of the mountan forrest he grew up in Backstory:
I grew up in a small patch of woods by the mountain. Im not sure where it is from here. I traveled so far now.. I'm not sure what happened at home. I took a hard blow to the face trying to fight off a horde of goblins in the night, blood thirsty, and full of rage.. my family and friends fought hard, and many goblins fell. When i came to consciousness to the smell of smoke, no bodies were on the ground, and no family to be found. I flew north south east and west. Everyone i asked never even heard about us, and thought i was strange. Are there any Aarakocra left?
Ive been playing d&d for about a year now, and pathfinder before that along with other fun table tops like betrayal and pandemic to name some. Ive played a bit of play by post, but never an Aarakocra. Wanted to try something new.
Also played with quite a few of these guys. Only good things to say about them.

Character Name: Thrann Wildhammer Class & Race: Dwarf Ranger. Alignment & Background: Neutral Good, Outlander. Backstory: Thrann loves to hunt and explore. He hunts with a code, in that he only hunts beasts that are bigger than him. He'll only resort to hunting small game in case of an emergency or if a dire situation necessitates it. He's a Neutral Good aligned character, and he definitely has the go-with-the-flow ideology. He likes to live in the moment and not dwell on his future or the past. In his downtime, he enjoys a pint of mead or ale. He's honestly not too picky as long as he can get a hint of inebriation.
Thrann hails from the Wildhammer clan. A clan that relishes freedom and travel. Much like most of his clan, Thrann has become a hunter/gatherer and seeks to explore the world so he can have many stories to share with his clanmates. He doesn't have any long-term goals in mind, but he definitely would love to settle down eventually as he gets older and bestow his wisdom and experience onto others in his clan, possibly his children if he ever becomes a father. Link to Character: Thrann Wildhammer If you want to, a little about you as a player and what you expect from this game: I've been playing D&D since last year. I've played in a Curse of Strahd campaign (and now DM'ing my own CoS campaign on PbP, and a W:DH campaign irl), and I'm currently playing in a Storm King's Thunder campaign, Hoard of the Dragon Queen campaign, a Ravnica homebrew campaign, and a One Piece homebrew campaign. I've had not much experience in PbP as a player. I joined a Tomb of Annihilation campaign on here but it was halted as the DM had to bail. I'm EST, and I work an office job so I have internet access virtually all the time which grants me the ability to be an active poster.

I'm interested... Never played any of these, so should be fun. Bringing out one of my favourite characters who lost her campaign a while ago.

Name: Landrae Race: Half-Elf | Bard Alignment & Background: Chaotic Good | Entertainer Place of Origin: Scornubel Backstory: (shortversion) Landrae was born amongst a travelling troupe, music and performance is the only life she has ever wanted to know. She learned to act, sing, and recite the most complicated of sagas by heart. Her first attempt to make her own fame away from her troupe ended in disaster, after a run in with a local witch who sparked in her a touch of magic, but at the cost of the very core of her trade - her ability to recall the plays and poems, songs and stories, that she has been taught since she can remember.
Ever since I took on that blasted Baron's homage to his own feigned fabulousness, his diction contained a fiction which he so cloyingly bade me write. My commission was to turn the Baron's story into a masterpiece that would last the ages, and as my first such work, I was flattered to the point of foolishness. For whilst the words the Baron spoke were a truth in some aspect, the protagonist in his parable was not the Baron but a kinsman who composed his own tale of the deeds by the truer doer, but that had shunned the spotlight which the Baron very much sought.
Upon presenting the piece to my patron, and later performing it for his court, it was I that was caught by the kinsman who now perceived me as a purveyor of mistruths and falsities, in an attempt to ride his deeds to fame for the Baron and myself. The kinsman was far favoured by the locals, excepting those people who did spend their hours smooching the ample behind of the Baron.
The denunciations and accusations that spread were somewhat inconvenient to my continued well being and residence, but nothing that I couldn't resolve with a healthy enough steed and a keen sense of direction with which to guide me away from those lands. The problem was a local old maid with a flair for curses, and such did she spin that I am now at a loss for that originality which would allow me to make famous my own endeavours. Though she did somehow spark something new inside of me, such that I have found a penchant for a spell or two; I find my rigid recollection of the famous sagas diminishes with each passing moon.
You see, such is the nature of my trade that I must now journey forth and find a tale for the telling as a part of that tale myself...
A little about you as a player and what you expect from this game: As a player I'll give you a lot of interaction in social encounters, and I like to create party interaction wherever it makes sense. I'd like to see a balance of the three pillars but am really happy to go long with anything. I find 'dungeon crawls' fun when they tie into the storyline, but dull when it is random hack n slash.

Character Name: Kai Loire Font Color: Red Class & Race: Cleric (Life domain), Water genasi Alignment & Background: Neutral, (ex) Acolyte Place of Origin: Delthuntal, Aglarond Backstory:
Upon her discovery, the young water genasi was taken in by a priest of the local temple at a young age. Having no parents, the priest cared for her. Or at least fed her. As she grew, she was taught the ways of their god and worship, subjected to days of prayer and beatings of disobedience. This abuse led to mistrust of the groups god. If she was blessed, why is her god allowing her along with countless others to be abused and beaten for their worship. When she discovered her new arcane abilities, she began to suspect that a different god was the culprit. As she began to secretly explore different religions, she began to discover that there were so many more gods and goddesses than she suspected. Unsure of her magical ability, she turned to the priest who raised her. When questioned about different gods and beliefs, the priest grew angry with Kai and declared her a heratic. Being betrayed by those she trusted most and kicked out of her only home with nothing but a pack of items, her powers, and little money, Kai adventured forth to discover the higher power responsible for her powers, swearing to one day prove her old temple wrong with their limited beliefs. Her fairly optimistic behavior and open opinion personality allows her to assist anyone who needs it (as long as it is morally sound) and get along with (almost) everyone she meets. She is strongminded and friendly but also holds a slight mistrust with getting close to anyone.

Adventurers of all races, I am currently recruiting 4-6 players to take on adventures in the Tales from the Yawning Portal.
ABOUT THE DM
- I am a moderately experienced DM, but fairly new to PbP DMing.
ABOUT THE GAME
- The adventures will take place in Faerûn in the Forgotten Realms, starting in the city of Waterdeep.
ABOUT THE PLAYERS
- You will be nice, respectful, have fun, and creative with the story we build together.
- You will use a color (The DM's will always be this color when NPC's are interacting with the players),for speaking in character in the posts.
- You will try to post daily if possible, and give a fair warning when away for more than 3 days*
- If possible, you haven’t played/read through the Tales from the Yawning Portal adventures yet; or if you have, you will not use that knowledge.
- You will avoid meta-gaming (your character will still act based on his own knowledge and experience, not the players)
* Life happens, and I totally understand D&D is not a priority in many cases
ABOUT THE CHARACTERS
- Any official race and class**
- Level 1 characters, roll for abilities (4d6 drop lowest, re-roll ones and you can re-order the scores)
- Standard equipment, but we can discuss minor modifications before starting the game
- Milestone advancement, fixed HP and active encumbrance rules

name: Thrak Bonebender
class/race: hobgoblin wizard
alignment / background: lawful neutral / soldier
Although he was a fine wizard, eventually he realized if he was going to further develop his skills and help his clan, he was going to have to set out on his own in hope of finding some way to defeat their rivals once and for all.

Character Name: Kando Rythmar
Class & Race: Gnome (Forest) Wizard
Alignment & Background: NG/Sage
Place of Origin: Waterdeep
Backstory: Kando is a bookish sort and came to Waterdeep at a young age to expand his knowledge of the arcane.

Character Name: Xavnan Lightfingers
Class & Race: Half-Elf Bard
Alignment & Background: CG/Sailor
Place of Origin: Waterdeep
Backstory: Xavanan loved the stories of Adventure from an early age.

Character Name: Rivon Quickstep
Class & Race: Halfling Rogue
Alignment & Background: Chaotic Good - Urchin
Place of Origin: Neverwinter
Backstory: Exiled from his village for no reason at all (it wasn't his fault that things kept slipping into his pockets!) Rivon ended up in the streets of Neverwinter.

Character Name: Boo
Class & Race: Human Cleric
Alignment & Background: True Neutral/ Entertainer
Place of Origin : Underdark
Backstory: Boo was born as a human slave to the drow.

Character Name: Cade Bleakstone
Class & Race: Barbarian & Goblin
Alignment & Background: Neutral Good & Mercenary Veteran
Place of Origin: Neverwinter(Outlier Farm Areas)
Backstory: Cade start is an unremarkable tale, as no doubt many an adventurer get their start in similar ways. He grew up on a farm, and of several siblings was the more down to earth. Yet, his uncle stories of adventure left there mark over time, eventually compelling the lad to declare a desire to seek it out upon growing up, or at least acquiring the next best thing.
In the many months that followed, Cade's uncle and father eventually relented, allowing him to join his Uncle's current band of mercenaries known only as the Crimson Tears. Over the years Cade's original determination flagged under the many hard truths of what it meant to be a mercenary even of good standing. Unfortunately, on what was to be his last job before returning home to the farms, disaster struck during an escort mission. Though the details remain foggy in mind due to some magical mishap involving their VP, the more direct results to his own stature could not be so easily forgotten. Believing he could not return as a goblin, a saddened but determined Cade turned his attention to discovering a means of reversing his fate: One gold coin and a favor at a time.

If you want to, a little about you as a player and what you expect from this game: In all honesty, many of your other applicants summed up my personal expectations so well that it's hard to put down something doesn't feel like a copy & paste set-up! If I had to add anything to what's been said however, it is less an expectation and more a non-deal breaking hope that out the box tactic player tactics aren't met with little more than a flat 'no'. G
As for what to expect from me aside from diligence, honesty, and at least a years worth of D&D 5e player experience(most of which is PbP)… I can't think of anything that would stand out personally. ._.;
When you realize you're doing too much: Signature.

About the player:
Timezone : UTC+1
Availability : Can post daily

Character Name: Nicolai
Class & Race: ranger aarakocra
Alignment & Background: neutral, the only survivor(that he knows of) from home
Place of Origin: still a bit young, he never learned the name of the mountan forrest he grew up in
Backstory:

Character Name: Thrann Wildhammer
Class & Race: Dwarf Ranger.

If you want to, a little about you as a player and what you expect from this game: I've been playing D&D since last year.
DM: Waterdeep: Dragon Heist
I'm interested... Never played any of these, so should be fun. Bringing out one of my favourite characters who lost her campaign a while ago.

Name: Landrae
Race: Half-Elf | Bard
Alignment & Background: Chaotic Good | Entertainer
Place of Origin: Scornubel
Backstory: (short version)
Landrae was born amongst a travelling troupe, music and performance is the only life she has ever wanted to know.

Bring out your inner chatacter class...

Character Name: Kai Loire Font Color: Red
Class & Race: Cleric (Life domain), Water genasi
Alignment & Background: Neutral, (ex) Acolyte
Place of Origin: Delthuntal, Aglarond
