Rivon will use whichever conditions allow him a sneak attack. He's currently hidden. If he can attack from these shadows with his rapier, he will. If he can flank with someone, he'll do that. Otherwise he'll shoot his shortbow from the shadows.
Attack: 10 Rapier Damage: 12 Or shortbow damage: 6
While getting ready to head down the rope after Cade and Rivon the bard pulls out his Shortbow as the cries from below warn them of rats. Taking aim Xavnan targets the closest rat to his goblin friend. "Don't worry Cade. I am going to stay up here and....... clear some of the vermin. You got this little guy."
Action- Attack: 24 Damage: 8
Bonus action- Bardic Insperation to Cade (d6 For 10 minutes, can add it to one ability check, attack roll, or saving throw. This can be added after seeing the roll, but before knowing the outcome.)
Cade - 23 Xavnan - 22 Giant Rat 1 - 17 Ekk - 16 Thrak - 12 Giant Rat 3 - 10 Rivon - 9 Giant Rat 2 - 9 Darren - 6
(OOC - The rats are about the size of Cade height-wise and about twice as long as him.)
Unnoticed by anyone, Rivon climbs down the rope and hides somewhere in the rubble, undetected by the rats or Cade. Cade attacks the closest rat to him with his Scimitar and hits for 4 damage. The rat is hurt, but still standing. He attacks again with his Hand Axe and misses. From above Xavnan calls down to Cade, and takes aim with his Shortbow, he fires and hits the Giant Rat in front of Cade, as it squeals in pain and falls over.
It is Ekk's turn.

Ekk stands at the top of the ravine and holds his amulet out, shouting a word of prayer. Down in the cavern, everyone hears the sound of a bell ringing and the rat squirms with pain. Looking down, you can see that it's hurt pretty bad, but still standing and looking right at Cade. Thrak points his staff at the rats and cast magic missile, 1 at the injured rat and 2 at the other one: 555
Both rats squeal with pain, and both drop over dead. The coast is clear...for now.
From the top of the ravine Xavnan knocks another arrow and calls out to the goblin below. "Cade, is there anything else down there? Just want to make sure it is safe now."
Rivon steps out to investigate the stairs. Looking for loose or slippery areas, traps, more rats, whatever. Are the stairs the only way off this ledge other than the rope back up?
Cade chuckles nervously, but takes a few more moments just to look around at Xavnan's request. "Doubt there would be after that last display. Nice magicking, Sir Thrak."He calls back up to the hobgoblin. Short of Rivon revealing himself in the process of searching, Cade commits to at least a preliminary search, he calls down the others while turning over Giant Rat bodies. By the time the rest reach his level, they will see Cade tearing into the side of the fatest one in an almost feral glee, healthy rat or not.
For those that dare to look more closely however, he seemed lost in some trance.
Perception: 21(for any signs of further danger along the ledge)
Medicine: 10 (plus 2 more if survival is works as well.)
Rivon looks around the ledge. He doesn't see any more signs of rats, except for some of their droppings all over the ledge. He also finds humanoid footprints around the ledge, leading down the stairs. Among the rubble is an old ring of stones that contains (and is covered by) the accumulated ash of hundreds of fires, though no fire has been lit here for a few years. Inside the ash pile are a few rough-hewn spear tips of goblin manufacture and small animal bones. Rivon goes to the edges to see if there are other ways down. The sides of the ledge go down into darkness, you can't see the bottom at all. It looks as if the stairs are the only way down.
As everyone looks down at the sight of the dead rats, and Rivon searching the ledge. You each see Cade burying his head into the belly of the largest rat.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Seeing Cade...doing whatever it is that he's doing, Rivon offers to take point.
"These stairs could be tricky. I'm going to risk a little light for safety, but try to be quiet on the way down. Stay back a few feet, just in case."
He lights a hooded lantern, then slowly and quietly moves down the stairs. He's watching for traps, as always, but more likely for weak steps, cracks or loose stones, which he'll point out to everyone.
The 5 foot wide stairs are roughly carved, but fairly sturdy. There doesn't seem to be any weak spots, and no traps that Rivon can find. The stairs lead down 20 feet to another landing.

You go down another 20 feet to yet another landing. This one slightly larger than the last one. You find nothing of interest on this ledge either, and the steps lead yet further down. As you look out over the ledge, off into the distance, you see a fortress emerging from the darkness. The subterranean citadel, though impressive, seems long forgotten, if the lightless windows, cracked crenelations, and leaning towers are any indication. All is quiet, though a cold breeze blows up from below, bringing with it the scent of dust and a faint trace of rot.

Xavnan puts away his shortbow and heads down the rope. He kicked at one of the other dead rats that Cade wasn't feeding on. "They seem a lot bigger closer up." Looking over at Cade. "Don't eat all of it in one go. Don't want to be bloated for the next fight."
Skipping off after Rivon he follows 10 feet behind as the halfling checks the stairs on the way down. Once on the second landing, Xavnan looks out towards the Fortress. "Wow, are we heading down there. Looks dead."
(Lol im not sure if Darren even noticed the rats on his way down. But unless we have that torch out hes just feeling against the walls to find his way)
