"Bankur, I think Rand needs your aid in here. Penumbra says as she puts away her bow and draws the rapier she carries at her hip. When she can she will use the rapier on one of the goblins at her feet hoping to prevent it ever waking up.
Attack: 18 Damage: 7
(Rolled with advantage because the goblin is unconscious, if I did that right I get sneak attack damage as well, unless i am mistaken. 3 )
Bankur finishes off the awakened goblin, and Penumbra dispatches another one. There are two sleeping goblins left, but Tarin knows that they effects of his spell will likely wear off in 30-45 seconds...
(OoC - Are we still going initiative order? Just getting a bit lost with the Goblins sleeping and unconscious PC's. 2 x goblins still asleep this round, then are we back at the top of the order?)
(OOC: We can come out of initiative order. You can each take 5 actions before the gobbos awake - unless you attack them and don't kill them outright...=)
Bankur, upon hearing Penumbra's request for assistance, turns to Tarin and says "Will you stay and guard Friend Joe from further harm? I must see to Friend Rand!" Without waiting for an answer Bankur sprints south in an effort to locate Rand.
((OOC: is the map 5' per square? I'm assuming that is the case and I moved myself 6 squares, which would equal my 30' move speed. Please correct me if I'm wrong. Thanks!))
(Yep - 5' per square. And you can each just tell me everything you intend to do in the next minute plus...no point waiting for a turn-by-turn write-up!)
"Boy got hit pretty bad... went down in a single whack. Hope yer can help him! Now... I think these sleeping pieces of turd need to share some information with us!" Raldaen gathers his crossbow and walks over to where the two goblins nearest the fallen Paladin are lying sleeping. With a slightly menacing grin and a glint in his eye, he say to the others, "Maybe we can bind these two an' sees what they know about this place. Otherwise we just end them while they are asleep?"
Bankur makes his way over to the fallen human and kneels down next to him, wincing as he examines his injuries. "His injuries are very bad my friends. I can keep him with us for now, but we must rest so I can heal him and Friend Joe as they need." Laying a hand on Rand's shoulder, Bankur pleads with his god for healing power "Ilmater, grant us your favor by sparing this man from the death and suffering he now faces." With that, a wave of white light travels out of Bankur and into Rand, fading quickly.
Bankur makes Rand's prone form more comfortable and bandages his worst wounds. "We should move Friend Joe into this room and then rest. It will be easier to defend ourselves here in my opinion. The goblins should be killed immediately as far as I am concerned, but I will defer to the will of the group on that issue."
Bankur then heads back to the prone Salty Joe, picks him up and gently moves him into the room next to Rand.
Tarin looks around at the grim scene. "Let's finish all but one of them off. Whoever looks smartest, or maybe second-in-command. We need someone to tell us what happened to Sildar and Gundren, and Klarg won't be chatty."
With Salty Joe and Rand stabilized, the group securely ties one goblin up with some rope and dispatches the fourth. Most of the sacks and crates in the southern portion of the cavern are marked with the image of a blue lion with a shield. Poorly hidden amongst the supplies is an unlocked treasure chest that contains 600 cp, 110 sp, three potion of healing, and a jade statuette of a frog with tiny golden orbs for eyes worth about 40 gp. The frog statuette is small enough to fit in a pocket or pouch.
"Arrrr, a bit o' booty always makes a man feel better about a killin'." Raldaen muses as he draws his dagger across the throat of the less intelligent looking of the remaining goblins. With blood still on his knife he moves over to the bound gobli and let's the ichor drip onto the lone surviving goblins face. In a hearty tone he rouses the other goblin and speaks in its native tongue "Yer be lucky one! Talkin' might keep yer lucky."
"What is this place? What yer know about a man an dwarf, attacked recently on Tribiar trail?"
As the others search the room and interrogate the goblin Penumbra hides in the shadows near the entrance to the room but within the room with the pools, she is keeping an eye on the bridge incase there are anymore suprises coming from that direction. At the first sign of trouble she will run back into the room and inform the others.
As Raldaen threatens the goblin, Tarin holds up his hand and the flickering image of Gundren and Sildar appears for emphasis. "The people my friend is referring to and that we're looking are these two fellows. Have you seen them?"
The lone remaining goblin is awakened with a harsh slap. He comes to suddenly, a snarl on his lips for the ungrateful jerk who woke him from such a deep sleep, only to choke on the curse as his brain begins to comprehend what his senses are telling him. Arms bound tightly behind his back. His clan-mates lying dead all around him. A human with a bloody dagger - and speaking in goblin. A flickering image, created in the air by the gnome. Then the words hit him. Something about a human and a dwarf. Just like the image. The two they had ambushed a day or so ago...
In goblin, the creature responds tentatively, afraid its answers will bring pain, or worse, his early enlistment in the ranks of Maglubiyet’s army on the plane of Acheron. This is a “privilege” that most goblins dread, fearing the Mighty One’s eternal tyranny even more than death. "I talk - I talk! Klarg get message from King Grol a few days ago. Tell him some 'Black Spider' pay Cragmaws to watch for dwarf called Gundren Rockseeker, catch him, send him and anything dwarf carried to King Grol. Klarg smart. Klarg follow orders. We ambush dwarf, and take dwarf and his stuff to King Grol, like told. The human they no care for, so we holding it in the eating cave.”
Still talking in goblin, Raldaen presses the talkative little booger for more, "Tell me about the place you took Gubdren to, this King's hole. What items did you take along? How many of your clan will be in this eating cave?" The blood stained dagger moving closer to the goblin's eye with each question.
("A stable creature doesn't make death saving throws, even though it has 0 hit points, but it does remain unconscious.")
The goblin tries to back away from the menacing human, turning its head to get away from the dagger. "King Grol is chief of all Cragmaw goblins and live in Cragmaw Castle." (The goblin provides basic directions to Cragmaw Castle - it’s about twenty miles northeast of the Cragmaw hideout, in Neverwinter Wood.)"Me dunno how many in eating cave right now...five? Six? Plus Yeemik...he goblin boss and take orders from Klarg," he says. "Please no hurt! I no try hurt you no more..."
Raldaen relays the goblin's words to his conscious comrades, but omitting the last of the goblin's words. The please for mercy having little effect on the pirate, considering two of his own lie unconscious from this little skirmish; Raldaen turns back to the goblin and plunges the dagger into it's throat.
"Let's get Joe 'n Rand back on their land lovin' feet, a couple of them potions should do em as much good as a shot o' the hard stuff... I don't want to have to haul any of these supplies without the extra hands, an' if we got another seven o' these puke balls to be a killin' I'd rather be havin' their blades with us!"
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Bankur nods grimly at Raldaen's actions. "The lands are better without that evil, tortured soul in them. You and friend Tarin did a good job extracting information from them."
"Now, if nobody objects I shall use the magics in these potions to bring our fallen friends back to their feet."
Bankur takes two of the potion of healing and pours one each into Salty Joe's and then Rand's mouths, slowly massaging their throats to aid them in ingesting the liquid.
((OOC: Not sure if I should roll the healing done or the recipients should. If I should roll here it is))
Salty Joe: 7
Rand: 9
