Gil would look around for any kind of switch nearby.. examining the lit torches in the hallway as well as anywhere else he thinks a mechanism for opening the door could be located....
Investigation! 13
If that doesn't work, Gil would sit on the ground and dig through his bag until he found his crowbar. "I am not the strongest... but perhaps I can make use of the extra leverage this tool can provide..." He would mumble aloud...
Athletics 9
"HHHUUUGGGGGGNNNNNN" The small verdan would shout as he strained against the door. "Anyone else want to use my crowbar to try to open this?"
"Well..... obviously this door is jammed or broken or something..." Gilbert would say as he takes his crowbar back from Whistler... perhaps I have a different way to get through this door... although it might take a few minutes to complete" he would say as he slides his staff on to his back and moves to the door.. Placing his hands on the hinges and muttering quietly to himself...
(OOC so is the whole door made of iron or wood? Are the hinges iron?)
"Stand back... I am going to see if I can get this door to open itself for us... just make sure you are far enough back that if the door falls you won't get squished.." The verdan would say with a smile. He would then place his hands over two of the hinges on the right side of the door... slowly working to transmute the iron hinges into wood.... all the while hoping that the weight of the door would cause the weaker wooden hinges to break off.
Minor Alchemy
Starting at 2nd level when you select this school, you can temporarily alter the physical properties of one nonmagical object, changing it from one substance into another. You perform a special alchemical procedure on one object composed entirely of wood, stone (but not a gemstone), iron, copper, or silver, transforming it into a different one of those materials. For each 10 minutes you spend performing the procedure, you can transform up to 1 cubic foot of material. After 1 hour, or until you lose your concentration (as if you were concentrating on a spell), the material reverts to its original substance.
"Would it be worth attacking the door with force energy, do you suppose?" Darvin asks while Gil is toiling away to transmute the hinges. "I suppose it could be loud and draw attention, but then, so could staying in one place for awhile."
10 minutes later Gilbert had succesfully changed the iron hinges into wood. With a little effort the party is able to leverage the weight of the door against the hinges and they break apart.
As you remove the doorway you see the remains of an ancient adventurer who died trying to get through the door from the other direction. The body has treasure worth 22 gold pieces in a tattered pouch. The corpses equipment is rusted and wrecked and nothing else of serviceable use found.
You wonder to yourself why he died on this side of the door as the corridor clearly forks behind him to 2 other passages that lead diagonally away.
Its then that you turn around and see that what should have been the passageway you had come down earlier which had been 40 feet in length now only runs 20 feet and is a dead end.
Gilbert would quickly scoop up the coins and dump them into his bag of holding, before sitting on the floor and logging the information in his book.. "Alright, more coins for us to split up later on... I am sure Aquisitions Inc will be pleased with all the coin we are collecting" he would say before closing the book and looking towards his companions. Once back on his feet, he would dust off his legs and look around.. "OOhhh... ohh.... Well this isn't good" He would say with a frown.
"What kind of demented magic is this?" Darvin says as the structure of the dungeon seems to have contorted itself around them. "I mean, don't get me wrong, I'm all for magical party tricks, but this is a bit much."
Arcana: 3
"I've never seen anything like this, that's for sure. What about you, my diminutive scholarly friend?" he follows up, clapping Gil on the back with an oddly incongruous chipper tone and manner given the context of having potentially been swallowed up by the building they're in.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
"Uh, well.. let me think for a moment... I wonder if it is just an illusion" Gil would say squeezing his floppy ear. The small Verdan would scurry over towards the end of the hallway and attempt to feel the wall, checking to see if it was truly solid or just an illusion. If the wall was solid, he would stand back and think a little more about what could be going on.
The wall is as solid as all the other walls. Thinking about it, Gilbert begins to wonder if this is some sort of magical labyrinth they are now stuck in.
"Welp, it looks like we are stuck in a magic labyrinth! This... This should be interesting" He would say leaning on his staff. "I suggest we start leaving a trail behind us as we go so we don't get turned around..." The verdan would say as he begins digging through his bag of holding, and pulling out a handful of copper coins.
Gil would snap his fingers, summoning his spectral bat familiar. "Can you see what is making that sound?" He would as before sending the bat flying down the left tunnel.
As the bat flies down the corridor you receive information back from it. It lets you know that some sort of cubed blob is slowly moving up the corridor as is about 60 feet away now. The scraping noise you hear is from a sword sticking out of its side scraping along the wall.

((I swear there was a post that someone rolled a 23 to get the door open but now its gone.))
You stand facing the door that won't open.
Not being the bulkiest of characters, Whistler is unsure he can do anything but gives it his best shot.

The whole door and hinges are iron.

The wall is as solid as all the other walls. Thinking about it, Gilbert begins to wonder if this is some sort of magical labyrinth they are now stuck in.
“Not sure I’m liking this gentlemen” Tibi muses as he taps the now secure walls to see if there are hollow areas behind.

Tibi examines the wall and finds it to be solid stone, just like the other walls. The hallway they came up is now gone.
Ahead of them 2 corridors head away from each other diagonally.
Tbii then hears a scraping sound coming from the left diagonal corridor.
Gil would look to the others while leaving a copper coin face up every twenty feet "So which way do we go? We going left again?" The Verdan would ask.
As you try to decide which way to go, the scraping sound from the left corridor gets louder.
Gil would snap his fingers, summoning his spectral bat familiar. "Can you see what is making that sound?" He would as before sending the bat flying down the left tunnel.
