"uhhh I think we want to go to the right this time.." The verdan would say to the others as he recalls the bat. "There is a cube of jelly making its way towards us with a sword sticking out of it..." Gil would say making his way towards the right tunnel unless stopped.
The party heads down the corridor to the right and follow its many twisting and turning passageways. Certain they are becoming more lost in the ever changing labyrinth they start taking random turns. Passages seem to turn back on themselves and should have reconnected back to places they had been previously. But the labyrinth continues. They pass side passages, negotiate forks in the road and go through many doors. Occasionally you look back and sometimes the corridors have changed. You are sometimes able to back track a short ways but eventually the way back is no longer the turns you got there in the first place. At one point you find the decayed remains of a few troglodytes who must have gotten themselves lost in the labyrinth.
Eventually you reach a passage that runs 75 feet ahead. You stop as you see a mysterious figure dressed in a full suit of armor who stands blocking the passage ahead. He stands about 60 feet away.
"Halt adventurers!" He calls out, holding out a hand to stop you.
"I know of your quest to slay a great monster. I will help you if you solve my two riddles. Or remain lost in the labyrinth with little hope of escaping."
Gilbert would look to Tibi a d place his hand up on his side. "Uhh, maybe... let's ask.." the small Verdan would step forward and nod. "Hello knight, We would love any help you can provide..." He would say clutching his floppy ear. "I dont want to starve to death down here.. so please, tell us your riddles.."
"The first riddle is simple, all you have to do is catch me."
The knight turns and runs around the corner and calls back:
“At my heels you nip in this game we play. But cursed is the maze, and lost am I. So who’s chasing whom? Oh, who’s to say? The front is the back. Hello is goodbye.”
“No bird questions which I’m uniquely qualified to answer or requests for shrubberies - I am disappointed!” Tibi complains as he spins around and heads 20 feet back the way they’ve come and stands to one side fully expecting the knight or whatever it is appear.
Tibi heads back 20 feet the way they came. As he does the corridor makes a turn and opens into a large room.
You see the Knight standing in a doorway at the far side of the large room.
“You solved my first riddle,” he says. “Now can you find the missing piece to finish my collection?”
He points to three shelves above the doorway. Then he steps through the door, which closes and locks behind him.
The first two shelves each have two small statues, and the third one has only one statue.
Shelf 1 Statues. A man with a crown. A bag of coins. Shelf 2 Statues. A woman with a crown. A jar of honey. Shelf 3 Statue. A common woman wearing an apron. An empty space for a second statue.
In the room is a large table covered with many small statues, including a cake, a pie, a spinning wheel, a basket of laundry, a plate with a steak, a toy soldier, a sword, and twenty-four sculptures of crows.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
"Wow, impressive Tibi!" Golbert would say as the knight appears behind them. The verdan would then Scamper along next to knight and look up to the shelves. "Hmm.. this one is rough.. I wonder what the right answer is..."
(not sure what kind of check to make... intelligence? 21
"Hey! This riddle has to do with a nursery rhyme I heard as a kid.. let me see if I can remember how it goes!" Gilbert would say as he sits on the ground and chews on the end of his ear.
As Tibi sings some of the rhyme, Gil stands up and exclaims.
Gil would think for just a second.. "Clothes! The basket of laundry! I Think you need to put the statue of the laundry on the shelf! I cannot reach it on my own."
Darvin stops and asks himself, "What was the second verse to that song?"After pausing for a minute to think, he continues singing softly:
"The king was in his counting house, counting out his money. The queen was in the parlor, eating bread and honey. The maid was in the garden, hanging out the clothes, when down came a blackbird and pecked off her nose"
He then walks over to the table and takes the statue shaped like a basket of laundry, and places it on the shelf.
As Darvin places the basket of laundry in the empty spot the door opens.
The knight steps back into the room.
"Congratulations on being so clever, you have solved my riddles. Know this, that the Cursed Labyrinth is not in our world. It is built in a demiplane. The thessalhydra has found a way to push through it to a place called the Upside Down. It enters the caverns of the troglodytes and comes through the labyrinth and enters this demiplane. I will show you how that is done, but I warn you that this is a one-way passage — you will have to find a different way home."
He shows you the way to exit the labyrinth and enter the Upside Down
"Take this opportunity to rest if you wish, the Upside Down is not like your world. It is safe to rest here."

“A sound decision my friend on which we do not need to consult Tymora” Tibi responds to Gil’s suggestion.

Gilbert ponders the riddle and believes it has to do with a nursery rhyme he heard as a child.
"Four and twenty blackbirds baked in a pie," Darvin begins singing idly as he examines the statues...
"Is that not a dainty dish to put before a king?"
