As the ball of fire whizzes past Rutah he tries to exclaim, "Ah, wai--" But its too late as the ball erupt in a much more spectacular way then expected.
OOC: Yea, seems about right for Dreel, especially since he is still transformed, any damage and a failed save means going after someone so gonna stay either in the front far enough to charge something else down the line, or far enough back that I can't get to my allies if something triggers.
As the cave lights up with flames, Rutah, Ignus and Jaylen manage to step away from the the areas covered int the dark substance. However, Clipclop is too slow to react. Flames, suddenly rising from the tainted ground, surround him for a moment, before he can move out of them to a safe spot. [Clipclop suffers 3 points of fire damage]
The flames, covering the floor, only burn for a short moment, before dying down. The dog's corpse, however, is still aflame.
"This stench is getting worse, the fire didn't help." Rutah looks at Ignus, "A little warning next time would be nice." He steps up as close as he can to the dog and peers further into the cave.
While the first part of the cave looks like a natural cavern in the cliffside of the mountain, the large tunnel that continues from it looks to have been dug by something long ago. The passage is rounded, its walls covered in mosses. There are a few loose stones here and there as far as Rutah can see, and the tunnel seems to continue straight with a slight decline. The faint blood trail he had noticed in the cave continues along the tunnel.
Dreel follows in, kneeling down to sniff deeply of the blood trail, trying to get an idea of what it came from, and also pick up the scent so if the blood itself becomes less obvious he may be able to follow it. The tortle is making an obvious effort to keep himself a bit in front of the group while his transformation lasts, hoping he can at least turn his blind rage on another foe.
(Transformation lasts 10 minutes since that first round of combat, so just give a heads up once 10 minutes have passed)
Rutah turns to look at the group again. "Uhh. I can't see very well and seeing how fire worked the last time.. Does anyone have light other then torch light? I wouldn't want to lead us blindly in the darkness." He waits patiently for any suggestions.
"The tip of my staff is lit. If that does not provide enough illumination, I apologize, for I have no other spells to further light the way."
OOC: Jaylen has light cast upon his staff, it lasts an hour and sheds bright light in a 20 foot radius and dim light another 20 ft beyond that. For those you you with 60ft darkvision that's 40 ft of bright light and 60 ft dim light beyond that.
Ruth nods, "Yes, this is good. Sorry." He continues to lead the group further into the tunnel. "Stay alert, for sounds and movement. Don't want to be ambushed by those strange dogs." He says as he moves onward.
The blood smells different than that of the dogs. Although the awful smell of rot that is mixed in with the dogs’ blood still lingers in the air, it does not seem to be present in the blood on the ground of the tunnel.
Ignus
The walls, the ground, even the ceiling. All stone. Mostly solid, but here and there a rock has dislodged and fallen to the ground. Everything looks very much alike and Ignus quickly gets bored.
With the tunnel wide enough for two people, at some places three, to walk side-by-side, Dreel easily passes the others to lead the way.
After what seems like a long walk through the descending stony tunnel, the group reaches a mound of lose boulders that obscures most of the tunnel. The first thing that catches their attention are the many square shaped rocks in the pile. The narrowing of the passage caused by the pile of rocks forces the group to continue one-by-one, but once they are past, the natural tunnel is replaced by something man made. The walls are smooth and constructed with moulded stones. The ground and the ceiling are flattened. The light that emanates from Jaylan’s staff almost reflects off the smoothed white stone as it lights up the space.
The hallway the group now stand in, continues some distance in both directions. One side seems to have collapsed and the hall there is filled in with boulders and rocks. On the other side the hall ends with a heavy door. The walls are lined with smaller simple doors, doors that are almost too small for an average sized person to walk through, and another hall that interjects this one. Although that one curves and descends deeper still. The smaller door, next to this descending ramp, looks slightly different than the others. It is reinforced with different metals.
As everyone takes in the sight before them, they notice a strange clicking sound echoing through the halls from somewhere down below. Cutting through what would have otherwise been a suffocating silence.
The blood drops that had lain a trail along the tunnel become less visible in this hall. The dust and dirt that had formed a decent layer on the floor help hide it.
(OOC - @Dreel, Its been about 5 min since the fight so you have 5 more till transformation ends. Also, you have memorised the sent of the blood so if you want to try and track it you have advantage)
Rutah takes in the sights in awe, "Such beauty in a place of corruption. I wonder what made these structure or the reason behind them." As the blood trail becomes harder to follow Rutah turns to Dreel, "You still able to follow this? Must have been here a long time to have had dust cover it entirely."
The transformed Tortle nods with a firm snort "Not many things I'm good at, but sniffin' stuff and rememberin' the scent is one of 'em. Whatever is makin' that clickin' noise probably isn't friendly. Stay alert." The porcine figure taking the lead once more, cautiously moving forward as he flexes his claws, lightning still gently crackling and coursing over his shell, arms and tusks.

clipclop makes a lot of angry bird sounds. Clipclop (to the party[telepathically]) "Ignus you fool, you could have burned us all to a crisp."
