Ignus considers all this information for a moment, and then slowly the flame in his hand shrinks and shrinks until it's gone. He carefully walks around the pool and begins to head toward the fog with Rutah and the others.
Before getting too close to the fog, Ignus would like to investigate the edges of it to search for any potential dangers.
"I could cast thunderwave, although I'm hesitant to expend any spells this early into our journey," Ignus replies. He continues to scan the fog for any signs of danger.

"No, sadly I cannot help with that. I could produce the illusion that the fog isn't there. But that is more dangerous than simply walking forward. If someone thinks a little light might help I can produce that."
Jaylen casts light on the tip of his quarterstaff, the holds the light angled low to the ground, like low beams or fog lights on an automobile. To maximize their visibility. He then mutters a quick prayer to Mystra for guidance and scans the area for dangers.
Rutah, not keen on things arcane takes a slightly different approach. "Are you sure we need to be so cautious? It is just a fog, is it not?" Still, the actions of everyone else keeps Rutah from being reckless. Instead he tries to understand if this is simply a natural fog, like others he has seen.

"It's not that the fog itself has ill intent, although that's possible too. No it's that worth such obfuscation we may not accurately perceive our surroundings. Poor Clipclop already lost his footing once and we could see then. And some of us, myself included, are not as nimble as him."
Along the sand covered part of the passage, there are a few other areas that look like they could hide something underneath, but with caution and a bit of luck the travellers manage to take note and avoid them. The plants they walk past, before reaching the fog and trees, are clearly struggling to grow. Their leaves have dry brown spots and strange deformations to them.
Once reaching the edge of the fog, the few trees that stand there are scorched by the sun and the heat creeping in from the desert, however, the high tips of the branches still bare some green, defying the harsh conditions. The fog is periodically pushed back by the wind, only to come rolling out and towards the travellers once again. Here, on the edge, the fog is not so thick as to obscure vision completely, but it does thicken further in and lower to the ground.
Just beyond where the fog begins to thicken, lays a thick growth of ferns, vines and tall narrow trees. Leaving little room for any intruders to pass.
The light Jaylen casts provides some help with the fog low to the ground. While it does not allow the group to see the floor clearly, it does uncover the shapes on it by casting shadows and enables the travellers to see where they’re stepping.
As everyone is talking and inspecting the surroundings, Clipclop walks forward, slowly disappearing into the thicker fog ahead.
Ignus
Ignus, looking through the fog and to the ground, notices the thick plant growth and the otherwise quiet forest. There does not seem to be anything to fear, at least not here, at the edge of the forest.
Jaylen
Looking as far as he can see within the fog and the thick growth, Jaylen does not notice anything that would stand out to him. Only when he looks closer, and to the floor, he notes tiny cracks filled with water. It is likely that those are to blame for the fog. As the water warms up and evaporates, it gets caught within the forest forming the fog.
Rutah
It looks to be a perfectly natural fog. The thick forest, some rainfall, and the heat are likely to make a fog.
Clipclop
Entering the fog and the forest, Clipclop sees little but the path between the growth.
Dreel will call out "Ummm, Kenku? Probably not a great idea to get too far ahead. I don't know you but it'd be a shame if you died." As he takes a few longer steps, moving to hopefully catch up so Clipclop doesn't get separated.

Being used to seeing in even dimly lit places, Baconoid is a bit cautious because his darkvision is not helping him see through the fog. With the rest of the party advancing a few yards ahead, Baconoid attempts to follow along silently. 15

Ignus hurries his step to keep up with the group and help find Clipclop. He produces flame in his hand to help navigate the fog (bright light for 10 feet, dim for another 10).
Despite the size of their group, Ignus sees Baconoid slinking through their surroundings and decides to follow suit. He attempts to move stealthily: 19
Once he can see the Kenku again, he gives Clipclop a confused look "Sorry, you never told me your name. Woulda remembered what with your odd manner of talking." Though he can see the others attempting to quiet their steps, Dreel's size and general clumsiness had him simply continue to plod along, keeping an ear out for anything which might be approaching as they advance.
Clipclop: (to everyone[telepathically]) "You are right, Dreel, i didn't tell everyone my name. I am clipclop or at least thats what most people call me." "The way i talk, is the only way anyone would understand me and how i overcome some of the kenku curse."

Jaylen follows the one sided conversation obviously happening between Dreel.and Clipclop with amusement, hearing Dreel's comments and guessing at Clipclop's' replies. With a smile on his face he trudges further into the mist, staff light pointed low in the fog to gives shadow and form to their surroundings.
Rutah joins the others through the fog, "You know, as long as we stick together we should be fine." Rutah follows along with the group, staying near the front. "Uh. Anyone know where we are heading?" Rutah asks.

[OOC – I will allow it yes. But you have to specify – if you say everyone, then everyone within 30ft that you can see and that understand at least one language will hear your thoughts]
It takes Dreel only a short moment to catch up to Clipclop, despite the distance he had already put between himself and the edge of the fog.
Due to the fog, Ignus’s flame has a different effect than anticipated. For the first 10 ft it does produce bright light and allows everyone to see clearly within that space. However, beyond the 10-foot range, it causes the fog to appear as a thick white wall, obscuring everything beyond it.
The forest itself is still lit by the sunlight, although only a portion of that light hits the thicket and the fog covered ground. So, while the light is not a problem for the travellers, the fog and the thick growth that surrounds them only allows for a limited vision.
With Rutah in front and Baconoid legging behind, the group of travellers makes their way deeper into the forest. Soon, the sound of the wind is drowned out, except for the ruffling of the treetops far above. Increasingly, the sound of flapping wings, chirping, and the buzzing of bugs replaces it.
After walking through the forest for a while, the travellers see a faint light in the distance.
Dreel and Jaylen
Dreel and Jaylen notice a faint trace of a path underfoot as they are about to step over it and continue away. It’s barely noticeable as the plants have already attempted to retake it, but the ground underneath the leaves is still barren and flattened. [Note: This path leads parallel to the light you have noted, so if you were to follow it, it would lead you away from the light source.]
