With Ignus’s attention still on the ferns and plants underfoot and watching his step, he fails to notice much else. He does not notice anything out of the ordinary. He had been walking for a while, but this is probably a large forest. Any time now the group will have to reach its edge…
Jaylen, and Dreel
Following along the path, Jaylen and Dreel, don’t notice anything that would stand out or be worth noting. In fact, nothing seems to change. It is bizarre, that despite the distance travelled, the forest still sounds and looks the same. Moreover, there had been no indication of any bigger animals.
Rutah, Clipclop and Baconoid
This whole time the path seemed to curve slightly to the right. A barely noticeable shift. Now, some distance away in front of them, Rutah, Clipclop and Baconoid see a cloth tied to a branch.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
"This doesn't look promising." Rutah lifts the nearest branch to him with a piece of cloth tied to it. "I believe you are absolutely right Jaylen." Rutah thinks about what the next step could be for a moment. "Well.. I am unsure of what we can do next. Perhaps, one of us can climb a tree? If we find one that doesn't look so frail and thin.." Rutah tries to look through the fog for a bigger tree capable of holding some weight.

(OOC: How long have we been walking? Rutah only had one headscarf, just wanted to know if I had any material left.)
[OOC - it would have been about an hour, you probably woldent have much left, if any.]
[you can't see any trees that woult look bigger than the rest, and they are all on the skin side. You don't know if they could support the weight of any in your group.]
Ignus sees the concern start to build among the group. He looks around at their surroundings again, confident they haven't accidentally walked in a circle on this path. He breathes deeply as his eyes glow a bit brighter. Extending his hands, he casts Detect Magic on the fog.
Clipclop: (to the party[telepathically]) "Everyone calm down. I can still see the path, and if we follow it we should be fine. If it will put everyone's minds at ease we can stop and try to figure out where we are. Does anyone have the ability to fly?"

Dreel sniffs the air, gritting his teeth and snorting a bit in frustration "Not used to getting lost anywhere. Everything looks the same and smells the same, not even any game animals to grab for supper." The tortle grumbles, raising an eyebrow at Clipclop "Really hope you are right...." Following behind the group wherever they choose to advance.
"Have we not followed a path this whole time?" Rutah asks Clipclop, "I am unsure how we can make progress here, a bit frustrating. I am just glad I'm not alone here. And as for flight, I am as grounded as a flightless bird."
Clipclop stares at Rutah for a second with an unhappy look. Clipclop: (to the party) "We have been following the path, but its starting to shift over to the right. I brought up the ability to fly so that someone could fly above the fog and see where we are. and with that persons permission i could see through their eyes while flying."

"Can we find the light source from earlier and attempt to follow that out of the fog? The path seemed like the obvious choice at the time, although that hasn't worked out particularly well for us." Ignus attempts to figure out which way would be quicker to get back to the light source.
"I agree, worst case scenario this path makes a wide circle and we are back where we started no worse off." Jaylen then takes a moment to relight his staff and walks further on the path, holding it low to the ground to give shape to shadows in the fog.
As Ignus casts detect magic and looks at the fog he finds nothing but normal fog. There is no magic to the fog or the trees. However, once his gaze falls again to the ‘path’, he can see clearly a line of magical energy running along it.
[If you want to figure out which way would be faster to get back to where you started roll straight intelligence - Rutah can roll survival though]

"I think I can lead us back to where we started, if that works for everyone. But beyond that I can say I'm not much help in this fog." He will move with the group, staying near the front, unless they ask him to lead them back.
"I think following Rutah is the wisest move right now," Ignus follows his lead. "There is a magical energy surrounding this path. How long it has been here, and if it was meant for us, I do not know."

"We are going in fogging circles here!", Baconoid exclaims. "What is this madness?"

"Sadly, flight remains beyond my skill." Jaylen shrugs at the group, waiting to see if they decide to keep following the path or take another course.

"Been on the path this long, might as well keep goin'." The tortle adds, flexing his claws a bit and drumming them a bit on his scarred palms.

Ignus follows Jaylen carefully, searching for the light from earlier.
