This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Seeing one of the dogs going to attack his ally, Dreel growls deeply, his own eyes turning black for a moment, mirroring that of the dog that snapped at Jaylen, causing it to temporarily become blind before the hulking porcine Tortle moves past Rutah and brings both of his fists down heavily at the dog, lightning crackling on his fists as he brings them down despite how woozy whatever was in the dog's bite was making him feel.
OOC: Moving up to the dog that is left, action to attack and bonus action to attack again, at disadvantage since I'm poisoned.
First attack: 2515 Damage if a hit: 9 Slashing and 1 Lightning Second attack: 814 Damage if a hit: 10 Slashing and 3 Lightning
(Commands for disadvantage are being a butt, so ignore the higher of those attack rolls rolls)
The dog is still shaking his head, confused by his loss of sight a moment ago, as Dreel brings his fists atop of it. With a loud crack the first one slams onto the dogs back. In pain the dog tries to move away, but not before Dreels second strike hits its side. The dog looks pretty hurt, but its growling continuously, causing the black goo to foam and dribble from its jaw.
The dog seem to anticipate Rutah’s moves and dodges both hits.
However, concentrating on Rutah, it does not see the fire bolt Ignus shot at it. The fire bolt hits the dog and envelops it in flame. The black goo crackles as it fuels the fire, nearly drowning out the pained howl of the dog.
The flames slowly subside, leaving behind only a charred corps of the creature. [it is dead]
With the last dog having fallen, Rutah ignores the stench and moves to his allies, "That was quite an assault, how is everyone doing?" Moving just slightly closer to the cave, Rutah peers through the opening in an attempt to see if there are any more immediate threats.
OOC: I want to move within 15ft of the cave entrance and do a perception. 16
Ignus finally steps into the clearing, surveying the chaos and making sure everyone looks relatively healthy. He kneels down next to one of the dogs, looking it over and trying to discern what the hell is going on here...
Taking a few moments to breathe, Dreel looks at Rutah, in his even deeper voice "I'm so sorry! I didn't hurt you did I....." Looking over Rutah and seeing no obvious signs of claw or lightning marks, Dreel has a very sad tone to his voice "I told you to stay away from me when we fought!......If I get injured....the curse flares up and I may lose control. If only a foe is close then I'll lash out at them but...." An odd sight indeed seeing a 7' 3" musclebound, partially transformed Tortle looking down sadly like a child admitting their misdeeds. Looking him over, Dreel has suffered a few bites marks, though it is a bit hard to see among the patches of coarse bristles which had sprouted along his form.
Looking into the cave, the floor slowly turns from soft mossy ground to stone. A slightly cooler, but still moist air is occasionally pulled out by a passing breeze. The scent the air brings out of the cave is not all that pleasant and Rutah can see trail of blood, along with many patches of black goo, covering the floor. At the far end, somewhat hidden from the outside view, is another of the dogs the group just fought. It’s lying still and it’s hard to tell if its breathing.
Ignus has never come across something like this, but closely inspecting one of the dogs, he can see that the strange black substance is covering the creatures, both outside and inside of their bodies. The fur is covered with a thin layer and as Ignus touches it, it sticks to his hand and its nearly impossible to get it all off. The dog’s mouth and teeth are also covered in a layer of the blackness, and the blood the dogs had lost in the fight seemed to be mixed with the substance. As the thick substance is stuck on Ignus’s hand, he can get a closer look at it and notes it has some kind of magical property.
Jaylen can see that he is in the worst condition out of everyone in the group. Ignus and Rutah don’t have a mark on them, while Clipclop and Dreel both have a single bite mark. However, the bite marks on Clipclop and Dreel look worse than those Jaylen suffered. There is a dark shadow that seems to reach out from their bite marks.
"Clipclop, Dreel. Both of your wounds appear to have been infected in some way from the dogs. I can magically neutralize such poisons, but not until tomorrow I am afraid. Let us hope your condition does not last that long. In the meantime please take it easy and let us know if you need to stop rest or if your condition worsens."
"Shh, keep quiet. There is one more inside the cave, can't tell if it's breathing but better safe then sorry." Rutah whispers as he crouches slightly. "What do you think corrupts these dogs in such a way?" He says to the group.
Clipclop: (to the party[telepathically]) "Your right Jaylen, i didn't notice at first. Hopefully some rest will help fight off the infection. Since i can communicate telepathically, if someone wants to say something, whisper it in my ear and i will commune with the entire group." (OOC: i know that won't have poison go away.)
