As Vosnin swings his weapon over head it slams into the shield guardian's knee and with a loud *SNAP* it bends in ways to prevent the legs from bending again. The shield guardian is spiting sparks from all its joints. Its whole body trembles as if ready to collapse at any moment.
Velten, now at the top of the stairs, witnesses the fighting that has happened. He takes a surprise blow by the Guardian and chuckles. He reaches to his eye and removes his monocle, wipes it clean from the dust and puts it away. With his greatsword he rushes recklessly into battle! He swings at the creature twice in an X pattern.
Mundak swings into the dent he left with his last blow and the shield guardian begins to lose its footing as at that point the radiant axe slams hard into it and the construct violently slams into the wall next to it and collapses. The shield guardian is no longer moving and looks a bit pathetic leaning into a dented wall.
The room is quiet once more but the flames are still lit.
The room has a few features that stand out to everyone as you have time to get a better look at your surroundings. The statues each have a longsword held at the pommel with the sharp end in the ground, however one sword is blue while the other statue has a red one. The only door in this room is large and metal, looks like it is definitely meant to keep people out, or possibly to keep something in. The braziers looks to be your regular brazier with a continuous flame added to them, though you're not sure how they triggered being turned on as now that they are on, you see no way to turn them off.
I'll be PMing skill check results to everyone in a moment. Bear with me.
Tine studies the statues, kneeling down to get a closer look at the details and the trying to discern the different between the swords. "This red one seems to have some ash or burn marks around it." He goes over to the blue sword but doesn't notice anything similar.
As he stands up and turns, something catches his eye above the steel door. Part of the brick wall flickers ever so slightly, and as he focuses, Tine can read hidden text underneath the illusion.
"Ice and flame," he says aloud. He rubs his temple with a single finger. "An illusion here is hiding the words ice and flame. Perhaps a clue as to how we can open this door...does anyone see a way to release the swords and insert them somewhere?"
Tine begins searching again - his favorite thing to do.
"Hm, there doesn't seem to be any way to move these swords, nor slots to place them in or around the door..." Tine considers this for a moment. "Can anyone cast any kind of ice or cold spell? I have the fire side of the equation covered."
He stands next to the red sword and produces a flame in his hand.
As you stand there wondering about the next course of action you realize there is still a cellar somewhere that you have yet to discover, as well as a chest in Rindal's bedroom, and the door to what you assume must be his study on the main floor. You can always try to bash the metal door open too, if you're up for it..
"I believe I will go search through that chest...would someone like to accompany me in case it's boobytrapped?" Tine begins to head back downstairs. "I don't believe we can trust anything in this place. There's also the study and the cellar. Although I think we should probably head into the cellar as a unit."
"Hm, the lock does seem to be enchanted," Tine responds as he tilts his head to fully inspect it. "My best guess is either Arcane Lock or Glyph of Warding. If it's the former, we can see if Vosnin can pick it. If it's the latter, we may need Mundak to dispel the enchantment. Otherwise one of us will have to attempt to open it while the others get a safe distance away."

"Huh, well that was unexpected. If y'all want to stay here for about 10 minutes I could pray to Ilmater to restore our health"
"Very kind of you," Velten thanks Mundak and uses his time to look around the room. "It was here for a reason, to protect something."

"Unfortunately the magic I am capable of does not involve the elements as yours does."

"This place seems to be full of cheap tricks." Velten begins to follow Tine, "let's get through this door so we can thank Rindal for the all the fun."
Velten goes with Tine back to the chest.

Velten watches Tine closely as he inspects the chest, knowing how well Tine has been at searching things.
"See anything suspicious?" Velten asks.
