You sit around a sturdy wooden table lit by a brightly burning candle and littered with plates cleared of food and half-drained tankards. The sounds of gamblers yelling and drunken adventurers singing bawdy songs nearly drown out the off-key strumming of a young bard three tables over.
Then all the noise is eclipsed by a shout: “Ya pig! Like killin’ me mates, does ya?” Then a seven-foot-tall half-orc is hit by a wild, swinging punch from a male human whose shaved head is covered with eye-shaped tattoos. Four other humans stand behind him, ready to jump into the fray. The half-orc cracks her knuckles, roars, and leaps at the tattooed figure — but before you can see if blood is drawn, a crowd of spectators clusters around the brawl. What do you do?
Nearos, found in his usual spot at the edge of the bar. Closes to a window. He always enjoyed a good view or escape if the sitch called for it. It's just another night here. Drunks picking fights, wifes catching husbands. Black jack going wrong. The usual. I'm not much for that "Playing hero" bullshit. That's stuff for kids and fools. Here in Deeps, the strong survive. It's just that simple. Sticking your neck out is asking for a dagger in the back. *taking a pull of his exotic Afghan kush. Playing ignorant to the all deal* just another day he thought.
In a corner of the tavern closest to the exit with her back against the wall Runa watches the display with indifference and disgust. Her cloak on her with her hood covering her head as the shadow covered her face. the cold look in her eyes turn into a heating glare upset that someone interrupted her pondering. It seemed like no place in the filth of Water Deep city was quiet. For her a city like this was unfamiliar as she grew up around nature and its silence. The city seemed like never ending noise. Runa turned her head away from the commotion and flag down barmaid for another cup ale. She wouldn’t be here if not for that person. She will find him no matter whatever it took.
In a quick moment with just a few quick jabs, the tattooed man was knocked out cold by the half-orc. Patrons getting rowdy, people standing on tables and shouting, egging on the fight. The other men who seem to be associates of the tattooed man then jump the half-orc, swarm of punches and kicks to the point you lose sight of who was winning until-
"Enough!" A sturdy dwarf burst in through the door. He donned chain mail armor and had an axe and warhammer strapped to his belt, but instead of going to those weapons, he cracked his knuckles while glaring at the group of leather-wearing men who stopped their rough-housing to return the glare to the dwarf, "Wha' are yer on abou'!?" the dwarf growled. One of the leather-wearing men was about to say something but hesitated. Runa noticed the emblem of Waterdeep's City Watch on the dwarf's beard braid. Nearos knew already who this dwarf is -Dain Ungart, a City Watch is usually roams the streets, mainly in the Dock Ward, making sure trouble doesn't run the streets. Obviously the leather-wearing men noticed the emblem and rethought their answer.
"Nothing, just a little tussle"
Dain marched across the room and pushed pass the men to see the half-orc badly beaten and unconscious. He pulls out a vial of liquid and pours it into the half-orc's mouth. During this, the leather-wearing men began to make their way to the exit, "Oi! Don't yer dare-!" Dain began to call back but the half-orc pulled on his chain mail.
"I..." She struggled at first, gaining her consciousness back, "Don't want to press.... charges" and with that, the dwarf grunted angrily, but understood, he shot the men a glare, giving them the signal to leave or else.
With this display happening, the patrons return to their seats, trying to avoid the City Watchman's attention as he helped the half-orc up.
"How many times do I have to tell you?" patting Dain on his shoulder "Always sticking your nose where it doesn't belong. One of these days, you'll be thanked by a dagger knee deep in your splint. So just give the hero act a rest & go live under a rock somewhere safe" moving beside his friend. Facing the warrior. "You fought admirably. The way you sock that first guy. Bam!! Down like a trolls mother on a stormy night." He chuckled, while taking a quick surveillance of the area keeping an escape route in mind.
Runa finishes her drink ‘No need to stay here any longer it has done me no good’ she thought to herself . As she quickly pushes through the crowd surrounding the commotion to settle her tab someone steps in front of her blocking her path. She sighs and try’s going around but ends up tripping on a nearby chair. Falling she picks herself up spewing angrily “Watch it” to the person closest to her as she adjusts her cloak and hood once again. But of course no one pays much attention to her for she talks to softly for those around to hear. When she reaches her destination she slams the coin on the counter and pushes it in the direction of the tavern keeper and walks off towards the exit.
Dain looks up to Nearos and gives a half smile, "If I gave up and hid under a rock, I wouldn't be doing me job now, would I, Elf?" he pats Nearos' side before helping up the half-orc.
The half-orc looks to Nearos, cracking her jaw. "Thanks, though they were cowardly for what they did."
Suddenly, Shouts of alarm suddenly ring out as a hulking creature climbs up out of the shaft in the middle of the taproom — a monster with warty green skin, a tangled nest of wiry black hair, a long, carrot-shaped nose, and bloodshot eyes. As it bares its yellow teeth and howls, you can see that a half-dozen bat-like creatures are attached to its body, with three more circling above it like flies. Everyone in the tavern reacts in fear except for the barkeep, Durnan, who shouts, “Troll!” and Dain the City Watchman who gives a sly smile to Nearos and says "If I hid beneath a rock, who would protect those in need" He looks to the troll with determination, "This is my city and I ain't letting no monster get their claws on it!"

"OH? When did start serving drinks to trolls?" he spoke sarcastically as he leapt over the bar, scavenging for some bottles of ale. Preparing some helpful supplies. "Just keep the damn thing distracted for a bit" speaking mostly towards Dian, then too the half-orc. Trusting in his long time friend.
Like a mosquito, the creature sink's nose into the young man and as he screams, you can see the color from his face drain then suddenly drops to the floor, unmoving.
Runa swiftly turned when hearing the noise stopping her steps towards the exit. She froze upon seeing the troll, "Why was this monster here in the city?". She rushed towards the nearest table and flipped it, using it as a shield she hid behind it and casted flame. Runa took a look from behind zeroed in on the monster the table took a deep breath and threw her flame at the troll.

The first claw swipe cut the dwarf down his arm, drawing blood. Dain grunted in pain but steel himself, the second swing was too wide and caused the troll to miss and stumble (Crit failed), causing him to slip on a spilled drink and falling to the floor.
"Ha! now yer will kno' pain and punishment for causing harm te our city, monster!" Dain yelled as he drew his hammer and brought the weapon down upon the troll with both hands (Attack: 18 Damage: 7).
