Since nobody else objects, the transaction is done, with each of the party members receiving 60 Gold Pieces (OOC: You can add that into your inventory).
The soldier, upon hearing Mordai's request, frowns a bit, but then responds:
"Well, the Baron is... indisposed, but Sir Sigered can easily be found. Please, follow me".
With this, he leads you out of the marketplace. You go past the large temple, likely the tallest structure in the town, sitting imposingly in the middle of it. There are small statues protruding from its walls, with large stained glass windows up on them. All in all, it is a grand, if somewhat foreboding building. After passing it, you soon enter into a new district, which seems to be slightly wealthier than the one you saw before going into the market. After walking through it a well, you reach a larger tower flanked by two smaller ones, with the town wall behind them. There are a couple dozen soldiers there, doing some training drill. Orchestrating the training is a rather large man, dressed in a black-and-red uniform and holding a sword, with black, shoulder-length hair and a couple of scars on his face. He seems to be in his late thirties or early forties. He looks like this:
The soldier that escorted you salutes him, and says:
"Sir Sigered, These men are from Genmore and wished to see you, Sir".
With this he backs away. Sir Sigered turns to you, expectantly:
"Ah, Yed's village. How is my old friend? Is he asking for permission to start cutting off the Tails' tails again?"
"We aren't entirely sure. However, we are looking into it. It seems like it was some sort of set up, perhaps an assassination. We would like to have access to any resources your city can spare so that we may get to the bottom of this -- it puts us all in danger."

Gash- Lvl14 Goblin Wizard - The High Court of the Aasimar Queen
"Sir if I may, is there somewhere we can talk a little more privately? And we can explain the events of the last week and how we came to be in front of you." Mordai will ask Sir Sigered.
"Resources? What are saying?" Sir Sigered is confused, but still quite distressed. Then, hearing Mordai's words, motions for you to follow him, leading you all into one of the smaller towers, in which there is a large empty room. He stops in the middle of it, and says: "Right, spill the beans, I want all the details, what happened, who did it or might have done it, why, and how are you lot involved in this?"
With a sigh Mordai continues, "Well about a week ago, the five of us awoke in a ruined tower near Genmore and a polite fellow by the name of Tarden, who is now in charge at Genmore, found us and brought us to the town to meet Sir Yedder. The five of us woke up with knowing some abilities that we have but other than that, our minds were blank, we knew nothing of our past lives besides waking up in that tower. Sir Yedder was extremely gracious and offered us sanctuary and only asked that we do a couple of favors for him in return. We were eternally grateful and accepted his offer. The first mission he asked of us was to deal with some mad wizard, which unfortunately led to the death of the wizard, but since he was sucking the life source of other villagers to extended his own, we did not mind so much. Then we helped Sir Yedder get rid of a hunting party of "tails" in the area that was harassing the town. We go to the camp of the "tails" only to find some elf had already killed every one of the "tails" and was rather rude to us as well. She left abruptly and then we face a few remaining "tails" that showed up and we reported back to sir Yedder. In the mean time Sir Yedder was going to visit some Elven Lady in a nearby mansion, to possibly find more information about our lost memory."
With a heavy sigh, "As we returned to the city and was talking to Tarden, we saw smoke in the distance of where Sir Yedder went and quickly went to lend our aide. We arrived at a mansion in the hills that it turns out the Elven Lady was staying at. The house was on fire and when we entered we saw the lifeless body of Sir Yedder in the burning house but no Elf nearby and from our investigation the Elves left in a hurry. After some ceremonies for Sir Yedder, Tarden asked us to report to you and fill you in on what has been happening. And just yesterday we were set on by some mercenaries who were hired by this same Elven Lady who informed them that murderers were approaching the city. We defeated them, unfortunately killing two of them, but the one remaining we actually escorted to the city, as he lives here, and let him go as he was just being led astray by this Elven Lady. And here we are now sitting in front of you."
Turning to the rest of the group, "Did I forget anything?"
Sir Sigered listens attentively, taking it all in. Then, he begins pacing, clearly agitated. Finally, he stops and turns to you:
"Right. Here, let me be honest with you. I am running Totrichel, but, technically, all men that follow me, are really my uncle's men, he's the Baron, after all. And there is nothing wrong with him physically, it's just that his mind... It is not in the right place, as of late. He becomes obsessed with things, disregarding common sense. And one of his latest obsessions might be Sir Yedder's killer.
An Elven lady who stayed at Genmore... Unless we have far more elves than usual, that should be Lady Galatheia. She always goes around with her bodyguard or handmaiden or whatever she is, Kallista. Lady Galatheia is... Important. She is a very, very high-ranking cleric of Veniseus, the Elves' Immortal God-King, who, ironically, was killed over a century ago. Yet, they still worship him, and, with his death, the clergy has become even more important to their lives than before. They have a Regent, of course, who technically rules the Elves, but the clerics are getting more unruly every day.
Lady Galatheia is staying at the palace. I had a disagreement with her, as a result of which my uncle basically told me, that I was no longer welcome at the palace for as long as she is here. But, believe me, considering all that you have said... I have no doubt, that she is a danger to us all, and that whatever she may be planning, it needs to be stopped.
Now, how we achieve that. I am not the only one, who realizes, that my uncle is losing it. There are several important figures, who, if they were on our side, would likely be enough to, if not overthrow my uncle, at least to arrest his guest.
These include Mother Superior Yellia of the Monastery up the hill to the west, Lady Maud of the Traders' Guild, Bishop Warley of the Temple, and Sir Sherey, the Count's representative, though he's currently likely to be off-limits, as he lives within the palace. If you were to pay a visit to these three and tell them I sent you to help them in whatever way you can, they will likely have some big errand they will need to run. However, this will likely get us their loyalty, as my uncle has severely neglected his duties, and I am unable to do most things, as my and my army's orders are, to quote my uncle, to stay put.
So, can you do this? Meanwhile, I will do a thing or two on my own, so that we will have a chance. And we will avenge Sir Yedder and get to the bottom of this mystery."
”Hmmm. Personally I would love to go to the Temple. I was thinking of going there anyway to ask them some questions. They might be able to provide some information on us, or at least maybe help me remember who I am a cleric of.”
"One final thing" Sir Sigered says, in an even more hushed tone, "Do any of you have magical talent? I have... procured... A notebook from Lady Galatheia's chambers, before I was kindly asked to leave the Palace. It seems to somehow be magically locked, but if we can somehow access it, that might be helpful".
Tozo, hearing this, immediately volunteers. He already has some of Lady Galatheia's notes from Osbehr Manor, that escaped being burned, so he is positive, that if anyone ahs the chance, it would be him. So, he goes to Sir Sigered and offers his services, which are immediately accepted.
"Well, I hope the four of you will have the Light on your side" Sir Sigered says. Since there are no objections to Donovan's offered destination, the party bids farewell to Sir Sigered and Tozo, and moves towards the Temple. Before they can leave the training grounds, however, they hear Pin calling out to them.
"Friends, I told 'em what happened, that Sarge, Gramps an' I were lied to by someone, attacked the wrong folk, and that the other two are dead. The army, they accepted me back, so I'll be stationed here for the moment. If ya ever have any need for Old Pin, I'll be 'ere, all ya gotta do is call fo' me, and that's it. Bye for now, and thanks fo' everything".
The party leaves and soon approaches the Temple of Saint Sabelle the illuminated. The temple is quite grand, as you had already seen. This time, you have more of a chance to look at its finer details. The statues protruding from its walls are all different from each other, but all seem to depict various older men, either from the clergy or nobility, with them being dressed in appropriate garb. However, a woman also appears on quite occasions, often interacting with these men. And, unlike the men, who are all different from each other, this woman is always the same, with an unchanging face and garments.
Going in, the temple is a vision of grandiosity. It has marble flooring and beautiful, gilded icons hanging on the walls. The internal pillars are adorned with a huge amount of large candles, which light up the inside of the building, making it even brighter than the sunny afternoon outside. You ask to see the bishop, mentioning Sir Sigered by name, after which a boy-servant runs off and, soon, you see a man emerge from a wall. He is dressed rather resplendently, with the pure white garb combined with red and gold shoulder pads and tabard, as well as crimson gloves. He seems to be around fifty years of age, with a mostly bald head and a somewhat pudgy face. He looks like this:
"Ah, I see that someone in the secular government finally took notice of us, small folk. I swear, we, the obedient servants of the Light would do much better at governing the world, but, alas, it is not to be. So, Sir Sigered sent you, instead of his uncle, the Baron, who should have done so instead... Pity, but what can we do... However, the matter I need help with is a rather sensitive one, so I must be certain that you can keep quiet about it. Can you swear to me, that whatever I ask of you, remains a secret? Sir Sigered may be told, of course, but I want you to swear upon the Light, that no one else will know. Can you do that?"
Mordai thinks for a moment before responding, "Bishop Warley for the most part yes I will keep your secret, unless of course I find it too heinous and to be honest if it threatens my recent friends at Genmore or any innocent person in general. I have no memory of my past but I can't believe I would be a person that would want harm to come o the masses. If that is acceptable to you then I am more than happy to help."
"It is nothing immoral, for Light's sake!" The Bishop shouts, getting the attention of some people within the temple. He seems to notice this, so hushes his voice, "In any regard, unfortunately, we have not been blessed with choice, and I am afraid the matter needs to be contained. Follow me".
He leads you into a room. There, on the table, are various papers with writings and drawings. He says: "These are all research notes. We, at the temple, study a number of things, so that we can use the results to make the lives of small folk better and help our fellow men, as not many others are doing it. However, there has been... a mistake."
With this, he motions to the ground below him:
"Beneath the temple, there are a number of ancient catacombs. They are from a very long time ago, back when people did not cremate dead people and instead chose to put them in boxes called "coffins" and store them underground or in catacombs. It was extremely inefficient and went against the will of the Light, but what can you do. We have chosen to respect those who acted this way, so the buried remained undisturbed. However, some of these catacombs found alternative uses. We need space, you see, so some of them are used as storage spaces, mostly for books and parchments, as well as other things. And some of the catacombs are used for research.
It was in one of these research tunnels, where a mistake was made. Some creature, I am not sure what, was being studied there and, in a stupid move, the researcher somehow made it come alive. That creature used some magics, killing the researcher and creating undead monsters. The catacomb was immediately sealed, but we are afraid the monsters may break through. Thankfully, it is not a large place, all of three rooms and connecting stairs, that is all. I can give you the outline thereof.
We need you to go in and destroy the menace. The temple will eternally be grateful for such an act".
Mordai responds, "I figured as much but it had to be said. I think the group will be happy to help you as we are getting something in return, is there anything in particular we should watch out for with regards to your property down there? And can you do us a favor as well?" At which point I will explain to the bishop about our lost memories, "Do you know anything about such a situation or if there is a way we can cure ourselves? Also, I hate to mention this but since we are potentially risking our lives what compensation will you be rewarding us if we do take care of your undead situation?"
The priest audibly gasps, something that is clearly artificial. He seems to intentionally act over the top: "I had thought that you were here to offer help on behalf of Sir Sigered, not to ask for remuneration! What can out poor church offer, as we are all but beggars! But I understand... Secular problems require secular solutions, so we will try to scrounge about and find some measure of compensation... Let me see, we are not wealthy at all, so monetary dispensation is out of the question... What if we provided you with a couple of items? They were unearthed in one of the previously sealed catacombs, and seem to have magical properties. I can arrange for them to be cleaned and prepared for you. I hope that would be acceptable".
Then, he responds to other questions: "No, there will likely be nothing of value in the catacomb you are going to, as it was quite well cleaned before being used as a research site. And, generally, the burial traditions of old did not include putting items of value in the coffins, at least not usually. Now, if there are no further questions, here's the map of the place:"
"Any questions, before you begin?"
OOC: Does Donovan want to ask him about his powers and the god?
Donovan steps forward. “Before we start I have something I need to ask. As has been mentioned, we woke up some time ago with no mementoes of who we are, or anything about our past. Oddly, we have retained our various skills to include, apparently, my faith in...someone. I can pray and have divine spells granted, but I don’t know to whom I pray or devote my service to. Do you recognize this holy symbol and can you tell me anything about this god or goddess?”
