"No, he is never late... I wonder if we should go to Osbehr Manor, to see if everything is all right... Those elves seemed off, when they arrived..." Mutters Tarden in response, unsure what to do.
"Tarden, where did Sir Yedder go? As it seems you are worried about him maybe we can go look for him? While we do that where can we store all this equipment for now and is there a place to purchase wagons around here?"
In the hour of rest Morgan sort out the half plate armour they had collected and tried to fix it up, removing any large dents or scratches as well as.
”You said the manor, why did he go there? We went past a large house and we met an elf female along the way. She seemed to already have met Yedder or at least knew of him. Perhaps we should move out there to find him, I to am worried he said he would be back before we were.”
Morgan is able to fix-up the armor. It does not look pristine, nor is it particularly pretty, but it will do its job, if Morgan puts it on.
Meanwhile, Tarden seems to be speaking to himself more than to the party:
"Osbehr Manor, that is where the white lady is staying. She had a name, of course, but I forgot, it was rather weird. And her guard, or whatever she was, Kallista, I think. They were staying at the manor. It belongs to the baron's cousin, so Yed could not do anything about them. But since you inquired about the magic surge from that direction, Yed thought that the elves were responsible for it, so went there to ask the white lady."
Then, upon hearing Mordai and Morgan:
"That was probably Kallista, and yeah, Osbehr Manor would indeed have been on your way. As for wagons, sure, there are quite a few of them, I think Dougal was even selling a mule to move it... Wait, what is that?"
Tarden points his finger to the east, roughly where you came from. The sky seems to be filling up with smoke. Something large is clearly on fire.
"Your items will keep in here, we need to hurry" Says Tarden and follows the party.
Thankfully, Genmore is not large at all, so quite soon the source of the smoke can be seen. Unfortunately, it is indeed the nice manor that the party passed on the way back to the village. It is ablaze, looking roughly like this:
"That's Osbehr all right, Yed is in there!" Shouts Tarden and overtakes the party to hurry inside.
Even if anyone attempts to stop him, it's to no avail. Unfortunately, once the doors are opened, it is clear, that you are too late. The body of the centaur is slumped in the hallway, with a huge sword would in his neck. What's worse, the wound seems to be inflicted with a magical weapon, with Tozo easily deducing, that even if you were here when he was killed, you would not be able to resurrect him.
"NO!!!" Shouts Tarden and grabs the body. Even if he is not helped, he still manages to drag him out of the house, suffering minor burns himself.
Unfortunately, There is no way to help Sir Yedder. The house, however, is made entirely of stone, and the fire burns itself out quite soon, as there is not too much that it can burn through.
"Whoever killed Yed, set fire to this place, trying to cover their tracks! It's that Darktaken White Wh*re and her bit*h of a servant! We must find and butcher them!" Shouts Tarden, clearly filled with anger and hatred.
"It is indeed clear that the fire was intentional" Tozo says, adding: "But they did it in a hurry, meaning that they could have covered their tracks hurriedly as well, so they might have gotten sloppy. We have a chance to find clues here".
Reginald enters the charred wreck that remains of the manor and looks around. There seem to be footprints within the house, but none that leave it or their premises. However its former occupants left, it was not via mundane means, likely something akin to teleportation.
Additionally, Reginald is able to pinpoint that most activity within the house took place upstairs, where one of the occupants, possibly this "White Lady" spent most, if not all, of her time within the Manor.
Morgan is dumbfounded but what has happened, he walks around trying to see if anything would help them solve the issue but he is at a loss. He helps move Sir Yedders body outside of the manor and tries to console Tarden best he can.
He goes back inside and looks around for things of value, not for loot but he thought that if the fire was indeed started by the elves they would be smart enough to grab all their stuff before they started it. He did not know they enough to presume they caused the fire and wanted to see if there was a sign from something else.
“This is a bit extreme, I know it is very soon but did Sir Yedder have any enemies other then the cats? The elves asked for help I can’t presume them to turn on him so quickly?”
(OOC. Morgan would put the armour on as he cleaned it up)
Tarden has trouble responding, as he is still quite devastated, but manages to speak up:
"No, none... And they never asked for help as much as demanded a service. Dark take it, they never even announced they would be occupying the Manor, they just arrived and, when Yed asked them about it, provided the Baron's note. They were never our friends, but did not seem much more than a nuisance either..."
Tozo also adds:
"And, we seem to have killed the Tails that were remaining in the region, anyway".
"There are no tracks out. They teleported. However, this White Lady you speak of seems to have spent most her time upstairs? Would you like to have a look?"

“Hmm” says Donovan, rubbing his chin. “What would be the motivation for killing Sire Yedder and burning the house? I know I don’t understand any of the history or politics of the area or people, but I can’t help but feel like there more to this than meets eye.”
Mordai is dumbfounded and not sure exactly what to do. Walking over to a nearby tree to contemplate on things.
None of this makes any sense what so ever. Who am I and why would someone want me for anything, why wipe my memory and "teleport" me anywhere? Who is the "lady" Vitea spoke of and where is she now? Was the in inquiry of what happened to this group the reason why Sir Yedder is now dead, did we cause this? Who was that elf in the clearing and who did she report to. I have no idea who is currently pulling my puppet strings, but this I vow, I vow to avenge the needless death of Sir Yedder and help Tarden and this town, that without pause helped my time of need. This group of strangers and this community are now my family and I will do anything I have to do to protect it.
After a few minutes Mordai collects himself and then walks over to help with the body of Sir Yedder, "Thank you Donovan, I think that would be a great service provided to this town that has/is helping us." I will then search the grounds for anything that might provide some clue. If nothing is found he will run back to the town and grab a wagon so we can easily and respectfully bring Sir Yedders body back to the town for a proper funeral.
In the meantime, Tozo goes up to the second floor and, several minutes later, returns:
"I think the assumption that they left in a hurry was correct. There were a lot of items in the fireplace, most of which did not belong there. Whoever set fire to this house, hoped the blaze would be much stronger".
Tarden interjects:
"Well of course that happened, those Dartaken Elves think that every house is made of wood, like they do in their own realm! I guess they could not even comprehend that the fire would not consume the Manor completely!"
Tozo waits for him to finish, and then continues:
"Anyway, yeah, I found this".
And with this, he shows you an almost charred notebook. Most of the writings within are completely destroyed, while some that is still visible, makes no sense whatsoever. However, upon further inspection, some things can be read. The writings are done in the most beautiful handwriting you have ever seen or could ever imagine.
On a page somewhere in the middle you see:
"...We yearn for his embrace, and that consumes us, even if we fail to realize so. Those wretched Agamedine shall pay. And, Ironically, to escape the Regent's eyes, I will have to continue my work on their lands..."
On a page somewhere three quarters to the end you can read:
"...115 Cycles. That is the frame I will have to work with. Changing even a second would jeopardize the entirety of the research. Hence, I must hurry. I hope I do not become sloppy, being unused of running from time..."
And, somewhere at the very end, you find:
"...Almost success. I thought the experiment in the tower had worked perfectly, but it seems I still need to improve. Losing all memories and knowledge of the world is too horrible a side effect to ignore, though it is still better than not going through with this at all. But I will only get this one chance. Maybe a rainbow crystal could be used to negate this? The horse did mention that the Baron of Totrichel had one in his crown. That could be useful. I wish I could just return home to retrieve one from my reserves. But no, Totrichel shall have to do. I will either send Kallista or go myself, there is not much left to do in Genmore anyway..."
Tozo finishes going through the book and says:
"Well... There might be more that I can decipher, but this... Is some news..."
Morgan listens carefully to Tozo read, the more that is read the more heated he becomes. He begins to pace where they all stand.
”These elves were the cause of us waking up in that tower? I don’t know if I should be mad or find them, what more do they have to do with Genmore? And is this Tortrichel in danger? Who even are they!”
He turns to Tarden and begins to speak quickly. “I’m sorry I did not believe you straight away, we need to get back to the town and get people on guard, with Yedder gone I don’t know what they could plan for Genmore and then we need to hunt them down and get some answers...”
Morgan is openly furious this is some of the first news and evidence that may be connected to the group and it made him angry to think they were nothing more then an experiment or research.
