"Valie Reslynn," Valie replies, readjusting her bow and quarterstaff so they both sit on her back better before holding out a hand to shake. As he turns to leave, Valie follows close behind him, having met enough scribes to know that he'd wind up in danger before he would even realize it and not wanting to be the person who was responsible for him dying today.
"So what brings you here?" she eventually asks to the person nearest to her, trying to start a conversation and break what was clearly looking to be the worst kind of boredom, moving boredom.
Vaar walks around near the front, shield already on his arm, however, in his hand, he has, not his longsword, but one of his Javelins. Aside from that, he seems pretty at home, and while alert, not nearly as tense as some other members.
"Aaah, Valie, darling. Interesssting question"says Reghetyr scratching his chin with his claw-like nails.
"Uncharted lands offer great opportunities to find powerrrr, if you ask Reghetyr"responds the Dragonborn, with a large grin.
Valie hears a faint giggle coming from right beside her, in response to the Dragonborn's remark. But the source of the sound is unknown and stops quickly.
"What bringsss you here?" asks Reghetyr as they follow scribe and golems.
A yound half-elven girl comes running over to the group as the scribe is setting off, her breath slightly heavy after the short sprint. She nods a greeting to those who turned their heads at her approach, "My apologies folks, the sarj just gave me a verbal butt whooping if I didn't haul said derriere over here on the double! Name 's Landrae, and I'm sure it'll be a pleasure to explore this ominous wilderness with all of you."
Compared to some of the other towering individuals in the group, the shorter, lithe half-elf seems a almost a diminutive member of the party. Her auburn hair is long and wavy, and the sea breeze has just added to the natural volume. Her pleasant features are set in a smile, an outward sign of her jubilant and optimistic nature. Her attire is a little askew as though she donned he tunic and studded leather armor in haste; the impression of rushing is further heightened by her run over with a poorly adjusted pack. More securely and appropriately stowed though are an unstrung longbow and lute, both of which show signs of regular oiling and meticulous care. A slender rapier and dirk are fastened at hip and opposite thigh, over leather breeches that are hemmed below the knee.
Staightening her pack and settling it safely on her shoulders, she cheerily adds "So, where are we off?"
"Me? Oh I was tired of fighting the same old fights day after day. I wanted to see new things and go to new places. This seemed like the best bet," Valie laughs. She pauses at the strange giggling, hand at her sword hilt but removes it after a few seconds.
She turns to the new half elf as they approach, "Help that scribe with his cataloging. Mostly make sure he doesn't wind up somewhere he can't get out of or get attacked. Name's Valie, and yours is?" Valie looks at the newcomer with interest, pulling her quarterstaff of her back and deciding to use it as a staff for the time being.
Vin seems to lose hins of in thought for a few seconds and is slow to respond to the personal questions, slowly looking over to the latecomer and the rest of the group. "I am here to establish a foothold for my guild. They sent me over to see if this land was worth setting up a guildhall in. While I wished to sign up as a Craftsmen there were no positions available so I instead opted to join the expeditionary forces."

Turning to Valie, Landrae adds coyly "You got something to prove Valie? Gotta put some of those muscles to use?" She winks with the last and offers her hand to shake, introducing herself again.

Making goodway at first, time seems to blur in the humid depths of the treeline. Within minutes after passing the last roaming patrol of Guardsmen it's almost impossible to figure out which direction you came from, let alone if you're still heading in the same direction. If it wasn't for the fact the target site of the wreckage in the distance wasn't higher than the tree canopy which occasionally has natural breaks, becoming lost would've been a very real threat. During the advance, several new species of flora and fauna are documented and categorized by Scribe Talis who occasionally swaps out a neatly kept notebook for an instrument carried by the three golems. Other times he stops seemingly at random to take measurements and jot them down before continuing, speaking both to himself and no-one all the while.
After the second hour in the steamy depths, the terrain begins to suddenly funnel downwards into a ravine. The descent is steady at first and whispers of sunlight gleam through the thick canopy above. Brightly colored birds flutter to and fro and the deep caws and coos echo from tree to tree. Creeping vines and dense formations of rotting wood and vegetable matter make progress even slower. This matter is complicated further by the unseemly arrival of everyones biggest fear: mosquitos. Swarming out from the piles of rotting matter, they begin to harry, bite, and sting at anything moving. Within seconds the swarms have left every living creature in the group covered in raised red lumps and throbbing nerves...hopefully they weren't carrying any diseases...Make a Constitution Saving ThrowDC: 12.
Success: Take 3 Piercing Damage.
Failure: Take 4 Piercing Damage and a Point of Exhaustion
Additionally, the funneling of the dense formations of creeping vines out of necessity begins to funnel the group into a single line formation. Each step is an effort to remain standing and not get trapped in the mess of vines and roots tangling the ground or avoid walking into thick webbing....wait...webbing...oh shit...ROLL FOR INITIATIVE.

"He's a Kenku," Valie replies, "we had one in the arena. Good fighter. Called himself Gladiator." She smiles at him before turning to Landrae. "And I don't have anything to prove." She shakes her hand. "Though I will admit I've always enjoyed fighting."
Azrael just walks as the group continues to talk to each other, listening to their stories. His hand resting on the pommel of his sword as they walk. These people were way to open to just giving strangers their entire personal story, it was a little unsettling.

Vaar smiled and laughed along as everyone spoke of their own tales. It was interesting to hear the Kenku speak, his klan never encountered a lot of them, and he personally never saw one open it's mouth, it was most amusing. However, just as the talks were getting fun, and he felt like adding in, the spiders swarmed them and he found thankful for his tolerance to such things as their bites annoyed him. However, due to his distraction at looking at the webbing, he was a little slow to react to the attack.
