For the past several days, the talk of the streets and taverns has all been about the so-called death curse: a wasting disease afflicting everyone who’s ever been raised from the dead. Victims grow thinner and weaker each day, slowly but steadily sliding toward the death they once denied. When they finally succumb, they can’t be raised — and neither can anyone else, regardless of whether they’ve ever received that miracle in the past. Temples and scholars of divine magic are at a loss to explain a curse that has affected the entire region, and possibly the entire world.
You have been invited to the home of Syndra Silvane, a retired adventurer and merchant. A uniformed attendant leads you up a grand staircase to the third floor, then ushers you into a wood-paneled room with a fireplace, comfortable chairs, and a heavy table bearing goblets and bottles of wine. The darkly paneled walls are hung with maps and sea charts. Racks, shelves, and cabinets hold hundreds more rolled-up maps and charts.
A person is seated in an overstuffed chair near the fire. You can’t discern a gender, because only the person’s head emerges from under a heavy blanket draped over the chair, and an embroidered hood and silver mask conceal the wearer’s face. Even the person’s dry, raspy voice provides no clue. “Help yourselves to wine, and seat yourselves, friends — I hope I may call you that.”
Please describe your characters, and any other role play you wish for now.
A shadowy figure stands in the corner, overseeing the proceedings. You can vaguely make out the features of an extraordinarily pale female elf, with white hair. She wears a black cloak, and most of her face is shrouded by it. She wears a mace on her belt, but doesn’t look like she could even lift it. The brooch holding the cloak closed is a finely crafted silver set of balancing scales, held aloft by a skeletal arm. She makes no outward noise to make her presence known, but doesn’t hide either.

Glimra Mandawe sat in a comfortable chair her battered shield and rather worse for wear maille, she did not remark on their hosts condition and nodded ascent to the use of the word friends. Human, Glimras skin was dark, shading to an almost purplish onyx and her strong limbs and wide shoulders indicated a predilection for physical work.
She flashed a smile at the others and inclined her head once more towards their host, waving away the offer of wine, " Of course, I take it you need something done quickly and efficiently?"
A rather small half-orc, not quite five and a half feet tall, carying a bag of books steps up. The sledge hammer he keeps to his side looks put of place with his scholarly regalia. "And I take it that we're to be heading to a rather ... exotic ... location."
(Can I make a religion check on the elf's holy symbol?)

Glimra raised an eyebrow beneath her shaved head, " Exotic? Where......exactly?"
A halfling quietly takes his seat and examines the wine, his hood and cloak covering a small portion of his face. He removes his hood, revealing his brown hair styled in a pompadoor and his moustache. He continues to glance at the wine before he scans the rest of the room at the human, half-orc and elf before nodding at them and takeing a sip of wine. "That's not bad."

I take it you have all heard of the death curse. Many years ago I was an adventurer and I died. I was brought back to life and no I am suffering the effects of this curse. I don't know how long I will survive for, the clerics have no answers. My contacts in the harpers have determined the source of the curse is from a necromantoc artifact called the Soulmonger, located in Chult. Chult is a peninsula ringed with mountains and choked with rainforests. Enormous reptiles, savage goblins, and an army of undead prowl its jungles and ruins. Mapping the place has always been nigh impossible, and nothing is known about the region’s current geography beyond a few miles from the coast. So yes... Exotic covers it.
Working from dozens of sea charts, log books, and explorers’ journals, I assembled everything known about the current state of Chult into one map. I’ll provide it to you if you agree to deal with this Soulmonger. When you’re ready to depart, I will teleport us all to Port Nyanzaru, the only major settlement in Chult. I’ve been there several times before, so there’s little chance of mishap. Once there, I’ll stay with a friend named Wakanga O’tamu. He’s one of seven merchant princes who rule the city. I obviously don't expect you to do this for free. If you complete this, I have a large collection of magical items you may take one of each. Plus there will likely be plenty of treasure in Chult to make you as rich as kings. You may keep whatever you find, though I ask you are as quick as possible, that I might survive.

" So...home it is. Well, I guess technically I was born on the ship...", Glimra mused.
" We'll do our best to find this Soulforge....Monger...Thing."
" Chazrael, Yesqirelle and Rahkenir, are we up for it? I tend to hit things until they stop moving and make sarcastic comments. What do you mob bring to the table?"
Chazrael nods and giggles at Glimra's response. "I'm up for it. You like to hit things up close, I like to kill them from afar. Also this 'Soul Monger' intrigues me a bit, as does traveling to Chult. I've always been curious about what lurks there."

Yesqirelle speaks for the first time, her voice a barely audible whisper.
”This . . .Soulmonger. Is anything more known about it? Its properties perhaps, or it’s guardians?”

"nothing else is known unfortunately, not even a more precise location than just Chult. People there might know more."

Glimra hooked her bag and shield back on, " I'm ready."
“I am prepared.”
Yesqirelle gives Rahkenir a confused look at being called the brawn.
