First day is uneventful, you make camp and get up and leave. Based on where Eku said you were on your map when you camped, you estimate you are roughly at the position marked by the red dot about a couple of hours into travelling. You might wonder why I am posting the couple of hours in location, well now you ask, Chaz, Thrash, maybe Yesqirelle (Eku is focussed on navigating, Innete is not looking, not rolling that many perceptions for NPCs) notice on the riverbank, and also some in the river making avoiding them difficult (though not impossible) some zombies. Chaz counts about 7 of them.
Roll initiative (Out of curiosity, who is rowing the canoe? Eku can't direct and row, Innete hasn't got the capabilities)

You are all in the canoe, if no action is taken to control the canoe by anyone, it will move with some current (like 5ft) on the zombies turn, the river is wide enough that a successful athletics check (DC15) can get past the zombies in the river but it will take 2 turns to get past them. They will try to attack in the meantime. (one check by someone for the canoe each round)
(Canoe will take you slowly to the zombies, the other option is one person could use an action to move to the bank, another could action to tie it to the bank as that isn't a navigation check, navigating to the bank would be a DC10 to not crash and risk damaging the canoe. If you go to the bank, Eku or Innete are happy to tie)

The canoe is very gently manoeuvred to the bank, you notice what looked like foliage was a couple more zombies so you figure that you are in range of 3 zombies on this bank, there are 2 in the water and 4 on the other bank.
