Satisfied that the Party has complied with the request to disarm the leader beckons for you to follow. His companions take up positions behind the Party. You are led through corridors, and chambers on your way to an audience with the Queen. As you pass the lizard folk you encounter stop momentarily to stare at the strangers before going on about their tasks. A few times curious hatchlings attempt to approach, but are shooed away by your escorts, or gathered up by their caretakers. Finally you come to a stout iron bound wooden door.
The Leader opens the door to reveal a large chamber (70'x50') This chamber features six pillars that border a large open area without furniture. In this area, the earth floor has been packed tighter than elsewhere. Several wooden benches line the north and south walls. (The Party is at the southern entrance.)
A large mattress has been fixed to the center of the east wall. Attached to it is a large target dummy with the head of a fish-like creature atop it.
Several lizard folk are practicing throwing javelins at the target dummy. A powerfully built and tall female lizard folk stands with several heavily armored warriors observing the training through narrowed eyes. Standing next to her is a male lizard folk dressed in a kelp colored robe holding a long, polished tooth. Spotting the Party, and it's escorts, the female raises a hand. Immediately all activity ceases. She nods at the one in the robe, who walks toward you with grace, and authority.
"Captain Vyth , Who are these dryskins? They are not the ones that we have been dealing with." He demands. Standing at attention Captain Vyth replies, " Minister Ortho, They seek an audience with the Queen. They have agreed to be disarmed, and have displayed no threatening behaviors." The minister glances back at the female who has been watching the exchange. "I will hear what they have to say in the Throne Room." She commands. With that she heads towards a door set into the western wall, with her escort in tow. "As you wish." Ortho answers with a respectful bow. Turning back to Captain Vyth he says, " Come Captain. Let's not keep her Majesty waiting."
Following Minister Ortho you come to two ornate doors. Flanking the door are two heavily armored lizard folk holding ornate halberds. (Perception DC 15) They open the doors allowing your entourage to pass through. At the far end of the room is a wooden throne on a low, stone dais. Carvings of reptiles decorate the throne, and glints of reflected lights hint at inset gems. The powerful female sits on the throne flanked by two guards similar to the door guard. Minister Ortho moves to stand by his Queen. She studies the Party for a few moments with an inscrutable expression. "You wish to speak with me?" The Queen inquires of the Heroes.
Maya would follow obediently, taking in the sheer size and scale of their community and living quarters as they were escorted through a few sections. "Your Majesty," The druid would be sure to give a respectful bow to their queen when she takes her seat on the throne. "I understand your time is valuable, so to be frank, our Council disbanded a smuggling ring that was connected to your people. They've dispatched us to reconnoiter the area. They are curious about your intentions. I wish no ill will or conflict, so here I stand before you, instead of attempting to sneak around your home."
The Queen nods her head. "It is wise to speak the truth to me. Please inform the Council that you work for, that We have no ill will towards Saltmarsh, or its inhabitants." She informs you.
(Gridolpho) Everyone seems to be paying attention to Maya's conversation with the Queen.
(Maya) You get the feeling she's being honest with you. But. You also get the feeling she doesn't fully trust you, or your companions motives. Please make a Nature Check (DC 13)
(Toonary) Captain Vyth notices you attempting to reach your pocket. Curious he walks over to you, and reaches into your pocket. He pulls out a slice of bacon, and sniffs it. Smiling a toothy, razor tooth grin, he pops it in his mouth.
(Toonary) Captain Vyth shrugs his massive shoulders.
(Gridolpho) Besides the Queen's Throne which would fetch a good price, but would be a bugger to move, you notice nothing worth your time. However, you recognize something familiar about the halberds wielded by the guards. They look exactly like the ones carried by the Gryphon Guard of Waterdeep.
The Queen answers Maya. "Lately we have been terrorized by a giant crocodile named, Thousand Teeth the Devourer. The foul beast has killed ten of my people, and evades by best hunters attempts to track him down. If you could kill this unholy beast, I would reward you greatly."
Toonary looks to the Queen and says. "Protect people, Toonary protect friends, Toonary be your friend." He then lifts his hands showing that he can not hook her arm or get a piece of bacon out to put into his mouth.
Maya would smile at Toonary’s attempts to befriend the queen and her guards. The Druid would bow her head in a nod of agreement, “I believe my companions and I would be willing to give it shot. Is there any additional details about this beast that you’re able to share to assist us in our attempts to track it?”
The cleric smiles to the Queen, trying to give support to Maya's words but afraid to screw it all if she speaks. She is a little bit worried, a huge lizard is one of the most feared predators in the coastal waters, she even saw a big one hunting a shark once. This is going to be dangerous.

Gridolpho lays his rapier "Pokerface" on top of the pile. He has no other visible weapons and is being uncharacteristically silent.
He's tucked his trademark metal toothpick in his cheek.

Maya would nod to Seethe. Great suggestion.
"Is there anything we may be able to assist you with?" The druid would speak Seethes question aloud, in a very generalized way.
