Looking down, she notices the dead body of Messalina at her feet, with the Mask of the Dragon Queen sitting in Messalina's limp hand. Reaching down, she picks it up and places the helm on her head.
"You hideously stupid creature....PICK ON SOMEONE YOUR OWN SIZE! Bahamut is waiting for you just outside....so why don't you run home to your little hidey-hole where you're so scared you sit and suck your thumb all day! You're such a pansy. This mask looks like something weenies wear, because they're soooooooooo scared to show the world how week and ugly they truly are."
The victory of the Cult of the Dragon was catastrophic for Faerûn. With Tiamat's ascendance, the Age of Mortals came to an end and the Age of Dragons began. Nations and kingdoms shattered, civilization collapsed into bloody war, and chaos reigned supreme. None of the Dragon Queen’s mortal agents received the rewards they expected. The Red Wizards who freed her were devoured or driven away, hunted by the forces of Szass Tam. The cultists who orchestrated Tiamat’s return fared little better, with the Dragon Queen not caring which mortals her draconic subjects hunted, consumed, and enslaved. The glorious reign of dragons that Severin hoped to usher in and rule become a brutal world where evil dragons dominate all.
There was, however, a glimmer of hope.
As Tiamat laughed and thundered away to join the main battle at the Well, a lone figure slowly began moving next to a burnt, dead Kenku. Fred, hiding in the lava tubes, came running out as soon as the Dragon Goddess was away from her Temple to the moving body. It was Camilla. She groaned painfully. She was completely charred and disfigured, and was crying. Bell had taken Tiamat's Ice breath weapon damage away from Camilla in a selfless act to save the Infernal, and Camilla had healed Bell in return. Tiamat's fire breath had incinerated them both, killing Bell, but Camilla's Infernal heritage kept her alive, barely, so she played dead.
Looking around carefully, the battle was in full swing, but for the moment no one was paying attention to the dead bodies in the Temple. Fred ran up to Camilla.
"Auntie!"he said, nervously. "Here! Fred do what you say months ago. Fred keep diamonds for this moment! Fred give you diamonds! Hurry! I help you with friends!"
Every nerve ending in her body was electrical - the pain was so fantastic she wanted to scream, but didn't. It hurt to move, and her skin was charred, black, and hairless. She couldn't see, the skin all over her face melted over. With a shaking arm, she allowed Fred to carry her into the lava tunnels and perform emergency healing on herself. Fred stared at her with wonder as skin was renewed, hair was regrown, and burn wounds were healed. She worked as fast as she could. She had a job to do.
"Ok."she said, removing her burnt, ash covered jacket. "You've got to help me lookout,Ok? I've got to bring the rest in here one by one. We don't have much time."
First was Bell. Carrying her as carefully as she could, she returned with her back to the lava tunnels and spent about an hour, using the diamond, to return her soul back to her body and restoring her to stable health. She did this with Messa, Li'riya, Edward, and whatever was left of Astrid. The whole process took days, and when she was done, she was pale, thin, and exhausted. With a newfound conviction, the battle was just beginning. There was work to do, alliances to make, and a war to win. They wouldn't be defeated so easily, plus how many could say they squared off with a Goddess and lived to tell about it?
"Cami, not that I wouldn't want to send Tiamat back to where we came from, but do you have a plan for winning this time? I'd rather not get torn to bits again and I'm sure that the rest of us aren't either."

Xenophon: Topaz Dragonborn Fighter (ixi's Dragon of Icespire Peak)
Ka'ralya fired another arrow through a cultist, glancing up at where the massive five-headed behemoth had suddenly risen from the peak of the tower. So much for working in a team letting her do things she couldn't do alone, she thought bitterly, although the words didn't have the same ring of righteous fury they'd had for the last century, before her granddaughter had contacted her. She fired another pair of arrows, skewering more cultists as she fought from on top of a low earthen mound, waist high wooden planks providing some shelter from returning arrows. She'd never shifted her prey around quite this much, and she knew it was taking a toll-she was low on magic and her fingers were starting to tremble from exhaustion. We argued. And I had good reason for my anger. But I have to admit...it's possible she was right about metallics. They're not exactly useless. Twenty feet from her, a silver dragon destroyed a swathe of the enemy with its icy breath before rising to tackle a green arrowing towards Ka'ralya's battlements. Ka'ralya spared another moment to glance up towards the tower as she reloaded. She spotted her granddaughter's distinctive pale hair as she darted through the air with a pair of winged boots, just before Li'riya took a blast of lightning in the chest. The young elf didn't fall though, just getting up and bitterly fighting on. Ka'ralya could already see a large patch of necrotic flesh in Tiamat's side from a prior shot with a magical arrow. The old elf felt a surge of pride. That's my girl. Those words had meant so much, just a dozen decades or so ago, to both of them. Another pair of cultists went down, one of them wearing robes denoting him as a high-ranking official. Ka'ralya glanced back up, just in time to see Li'riya get hammered in the chest by Tiamat's tail. The woman silently willed her granddaughter to recover, to get over it and get back up...but Li'riya's form fell from the sky with a terrible finality. With a scream of rage, Ka'ralya started upping her arrows, taking down three or four cultists at a time and abandoning the safety of the battlement as she fought her way closer to Tiamat. But within seconds, the others battling Tiamat had fallen. As the mighty five headed creature lifted from the tower and swept towards Ka'ralya's section of the battlefield, destroying all in her path, Ka'ralya managed to breathe "Li'riya...forgive me." And then fire swept over her, ending her life before she could even scream.
