The gnome steps back, and then back again, until another gnome halts them rather than allowing them to fall over the side. The other gnome steps up. I will... do this. Please don't eat me, she whispers, and she puts her arm around SpiderNate and holds on for dear life.
Can Soar try to persuade the group to trust the spiders by singing the Farrunian equivalent of The Itsy Bitsy Spider to make them laugh at the absurdity of it all once more? Would that provide help?
Elspeth is still enthusiastic about the plan, but before she turns into a larger spider she's going to turn to the gnomes and try to reassure them in advance so they won't be alarmed, to help Soar in her efforts.
"It's alright." She addresses the gnome that had darted backwards. "I'm also going to turn into a spider, but it'll still be me underneath. After we get out of here we'll all look back and laugh at this."
She then turns to Soar. "How would you feel about me maintaining spider form after we all descend the cliffs? I won't be able to communicate, but I'll be able to better support the weaker members of the group."
After she hears Soar's reply, Elspeth is going to beckon for one of the larger escapees to come closer and turn into a giant spider, waiting patiently and looking as harmless as a giant spider could.
Elspeth's help is truly appreciated, since Soar's forgetting the words and mangling the song in her attempt to get the people to go along with their plan. (additional persuasion roll if that means the help worked: 25)
Soar nods at Elspeth's suggestion to stay in giant spider form. "Works for me, and as soon as we can, we're going to get a debrief from you about all you learned about while spying in those tents! If there's something you know that we should know as we escape, tell me now, but otherwise, promise you'll tell me when we're clear of this place!"
To assist, Soar will identify the weakest prisoners she observed from the climb up as the first ones on spiderback. Makes sense to get them out of danger earliest, and then have those who are looking strongest think about trying the rope. She pulls out her bedroll (and asks for a second from Elspeth or Breena) and fashions a sort of rope-sling to tie around the spider abdomens to allow the riders to hold on. She's given up on songs for now, and will just give gentle reassuring pats on the shoulder with her now-familiar smile and gentle encouraging words.
She asks Breena if she wants to go down before Soar to try looking for Jalt, as Soar can help secure people to spiders and also keep an eye and ear out for any activity in the camp.
With Soar's help, Nate and Elspeth, in spider forms, are able to persuade the prisoners that it is safe to ride their monstrous forms. S
Soar assists by tying the first prisoner to Elspeth using the rope loops that Breena had prepared. As Elspeth and Nate head down for their first trip, she gets out her bedroll, fastens another loop of rope through it, and prepares to attach it to Elspeth.
Breena whispers reassuringly to the prisoners, as does Leosin. The kobold sits awkwardly to one side, as the prisoners glance at him suspiciously, but it seems everyone is too afraid to start an argument. Mostly however, Breena is keeping a keen eye on the camp, looking for signs of alarm.

So far, you appear undetected. At the bottom of the cliff, you have deposited one gnome and one human. That leaves three gnomes, three humans, two half-elves (including Leosin), one kobold, and Breena and Soar still at the top. Nate and Elspeth return to the top.
Soar, make a Sleight of Hand check to attach your bedroll to Elspeth.
Nate laughs to himself when he hears Soar sing the teeny weeny arachnid (the Faerun children's classic), and watches in awe as Elspeth changes into a huge Spider. Nate's been hoping someday he gets strong enough to do that. I wonder if she can turn into a Tiger...
He then proceeds to slink down the cliff with ease, making spider noises (not necessarily friendly ones, he's still getting used to this morphing thing) and tries gently to let down the first gnome. He speeds back up as fast as he can, and then waits at the top again for someone to help the next gnome onto his thorax.
Soar you spend about twenty seconds attempting to attach your makeshift bedroll/climbing aid to Elspeth, but it just slips off. The human waiting in line pushes past you. It's okay, I can just hold on. He grabs onto Elspeth, looking afraid but determined, and Nate also collects a new passenger.
The spiders make another run, and return to pick up more people. There are now two humans and two gnomes at the bottom of the cliff, and two humans, two gnomes, one kobold, two half-elves, one kobold, and Breena and Soar at the top.
7
Breena continues to scan the camp; Nothing, I think, she whispers.
Soar, one of the half-elves comes over to you. I think I can climb down. It will save us a bit of time. Is that okay?
Soar nods at the half-elf. "I have faith in you. Just one step at a time, and hold onto the loops in the rope. If you're having trouble, flag down Elspeth or Nate as they're coming up and they can help you."
She looks at the rest of the group, trying to see who might be another candidate strong enough to make the climb on their own. "Anyone else up for a bit of fun on a rope? We're almost out of here."
While they wait for the spidermobiles to come back up, Soar's helping Breena keep an eye and an ear out for signs of activity in the camp. What time of night is it, as best as Soar can estimate? She also asks the kobold who he is and how he knows Jalt.
It is still relatively early evening; although lots of things have happened, it's been a very eventful and packed series of events. It's perhaps an hour after sunset.
Nate and Elspeth ferry down a third pair, one human, one gnome. At the same time, the half-elf (not Leosin), starts to climb down. He takes it slowly, and makes it to the bottom without incident. The kobold climbs down at the same time; small and light, he doesn't cause the half-elf any problems as they both descend at the same time, and Elspeth and Nate return. Before he heads down, the kobold whispers to Soar: Just met him. Very nice. I'll try to find him.
Jalt, you don't notice anything.
You now have three humans, three gnomes, one half-elf and one kobold at the bottom of the cliff. The kobold whispers something to one of the gnomes, then darts off into the darkness. At the top, there is one human, one gnome, one half-elf, Breena and Soar.
14
So far your luck is holding, and no-one in the camp has noticed what's going on.
If the remaining human, gnome, or half-elf look steady enough to try the climb, Soar will encourage them, pointing out that others have made it safely. If they aren't, or are too scared, she'll reassure them and urge them to be patient. She'll also shoot a quick smile to Breena. "Not exactly what we expected, was it? We're by no means out of this yet but I'm just so impressed by all of you. Badger, you're so brave. Thank you for rolling with the punches. We'll be back to Jalt soon. Do you want to climb down now and help the group below, and maybe keep an eye out for where Jalt might be? I hope he's okay. I was supposed to be out there with him -- wasn't supposed to show my face inside the camp. But I'm such a clutz that we just had to go with it, and you and Elspeth picked me up and here we are."
She'll check the knots keeping the rope steady, and keeps looking at the camp, and reassuring the escapees. She asks them all if they're from Greenest.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Breena shrugs. I'll go last, she whispers. I want to keep an eye on the bastards over there - she nods towards the camp. You should go though.
Nate and Elspeth take the last human and last gnome each, and then return. Remaining at the top, you have the exhausted half-elf, who clambers onto Elspeth, and Breena and Soar only.
15
Breena takes another look at the camp. So far so good, she says.
Jalt not being able to see or hear anything while he sits against the cart, starts to think about his fight with Cyanwrath. If I see that monstrosity one more time, I swear to you Bahamut. He will fall by my hand. Although if he was standing 5 feet away from me might now, I wouldn't even know. He sighs. I hope the girls are ok.
The gnome steps back, and then back again, until another gnome halts them rather than allowing them to fall over the side. The other gnome steps up. I will... do this. Please don't eat me, she whispers, and she puts her arm around SpiderNate and holds on for dear life.

You can absolutely give it a try. :)
Soar persuasion: 8

SpiderNate will do the same thing - wait for the next gnome to saddle up.

Nate likely doesn't even notice the kobold as he is focused on heading back up the cliff immediately to grab the other little guy. Or girl.
One more to go.
