The conversation comes to an abrupt end. The three humans bow, and the purple-robed woman turns and marches east, her twelve black-armoured guards following her. As they retreat into the distance, the humans stand, and begin talking to each other in low voices, too low for you to hear. As far as you can tell, there is no-one else around.

Elspeth strains to hear any scrap of conversation that reaches her, memorising what details she could, then watched, quietly, as the twelve guards and the woman walked away. Once she was certain they were out of sight and well out of earshot, she scrabbled in the dirt for some sort of rock, and tossed it towards the centre of the three remaining figures. As soon as any one of them catches sight of her, she's going to run back as fast as possible to where she left the group.
The rock strikes one of the humans on the arm: What the...?
At that moment, Elspeth stands and begins to move away. Get her! The three figures draw their weapons.
Everyone roll initiative please.
(OOC: As a reminder, you can deal non-lethal damage easily enough, just by declaring that you are trying to do non-lethal damage. There's no extra difficulty in doing it. However, you can only do non-lethal damage with a melee attack (i.e. not ranged) and with a melee weapon or unarmed attack (i.e. not a spell or a bow and arrow).
Elspeth, your slingshot hits the main square in the face and he falls to the ground, dead. The younger woman hisses something to her companion, and the older one nods. They advance, both drawing their scimitars, though they are not able to come close to you. The older one turns her head and shouts into the shadows: Tored! Attend!
Three men clad in leather armour appear from behind a building not too far off and charge towards you; they are still some distance away.
Jalt isn't in range to make a melee attack; the woman is more than thirty feet away. He can move up near to Elspeth and Soar and ready an attack if you like. It would be with the attack and damage roll you already made.
