This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
The three men all need to dash in order to reach you, which they do. Their leather armour creaking as they run, you can see that these do not look like the twelve guarding the purple-robed woman, but are more similar to the type of thugs and bandits you have faced already this night. The leader, Tored, snarls at you all and says: You'll bleed for that. I'm gonna bleed you dry. Starting with you. He looks at Soar and grins.
The surviving member of the original three spits at him: Shut up and do your job. She covers the ground that separates you and, drawing a scimitar, slashes against Jalt:
Attack: 19 Damage: 6
She laughs, as a single blow cuts the dragonborn down; Jalt is now unconscious. You're next, demon! she says to Elspeth.
OOC: sorry a bit confused here - was the first group of a man and an older and younger woman similar to the people guarding the purple-robed woman, as in is the younger woman what we'd see as our target to bring back? And the second Tored group is just thugs? Also holy crap Jalt!! What a hit! I have one point of lay on hands left so don't die!
The first group of the man and two women are dressed like some of the other human or elven enemies you have faced; nicer and better condition weapons than the thugs, mercenaries and bandits who make up the majority of the attackers, but not the elite black-armoured ones who guarded the purple-robed woman. The man and women appear to be in charge of the thugs (Tored and his group).
Soar spares a quick glance at Jalt as he falls, and does a quick double-take at the woman who cut him down. She almost spits out "no you are!" at the woman but she holds it back and turns her attention to Tored in front of her. She grins, but not a nice grin.
"Oh I'm so glad you offered. But I've bled enough today. After you. I insist," she cackles, more energetically than she's been all night. She attempts to put her hammer deep into the wound Tored's already sporting. She knows she's spent, far beyond anything she's ever encountered in training or in living off the land with Elspeth. The night's been brutal and it's obviously not over. But she whispers a little prayer to Kelemvor, asking humbly for some additional time to help more people live out their lives in peace.
Badger's arrow hits the woman in the shoulder, close to the neck. There's a lot of blood very quickly; she's not down, but she's hanging on by a thread and is very close to death.
Breena will stay back, but fire her arrow at the woman who hit Jalt in an effort to protect him until someone can get to him.
Attack: 24 Damage: 8
Edit: YAY CRIT! Don't mess with Jalt, it makes Breena mad :) Does damage double for a crit or do I need to do something?
(Ah, yes, well spotted. Crit damage is an extra damage die, so please roll that. She's on one HP, so this will kill her, meaning that you can't take her prisoner as you had planned. Also, have you tried using the 'combat' tab on the dice roller? It rolls the extra die for crits automatically.)
(I hadn't even seen that, but I'll use it going forward. Also, sorry guys-- I definitely didn't expect to one-shot her, it's just what Breena would have done after seeing her bestie go down)
Crit damage: 6
Edit: WOW. Clearly stepping away for a few days turned the dice in my favor. Sorry, again -facepalm-
Seeing the raiders approach, Elspeth switched from her sling to the scimitar. Elspeth's lips curl up into a snarl in response to the woman's taunt, lunging forwards to attack the long-haired man with more energy than expertise. As she recovers, she whispers a single word, healing Jalt for (6) health.
Attack: 6 Damage: 11
OOC: No worries, We'll just have to try to keep one of the others and see if they can volunteer anything.
The stocky man looks shocked at the death of the woman. Shit, Tored. What do we do now?
Kill these bastards, the leader replies grimly.
Tored attacks Soar, as does the long-haired man.
Attack: 4 Damage: 9 Attack: 11 Damage: 9
The stocky man attacks Jalt:
Attack: 5 Damage: 9
They swing hard with their scimitars; there's a lot of power in the swings, but not much skill, and all three attacks miss. the attacks on Soar miss. Jalt, unfortunately, is on the ground and unable to dodge well.
Sorry, Jalt is prone so the attack is with advantage. Jalt is unconscious again.
Soar is up. Jalt, please make a death saving throw. Note that your previous death saving throw is wiped clean when you go above HP, so you're starting from scratch again.
Elspeth grimaces at the appearance of the guards, not hesitating as she shoots another stone at Tored.
Attack: 10 Damage: 5
(The dice rolls didn't come through, so in order not to slow us down, I'll roll for you.)
Elspeth's slingshot attack: Attack: 10 Damage: 5
That's a miss.

Tored grunts at the impact, his eyes getting wide; it's a bad wound, and he's not far from going down.
