Kalmar swings his shortsword at the disgusting creature flirting about between Ringo, the barkeep and himself. Attack: 26 Damage: 9 (If it’s still flapping he’ll swing at it with the longsword, if not he’ll take a mighty slash at the troll’s legs. ) Attack: 26 Damage: 18
Kal swings at the Stirge turning his wrist at the last minute to bring the flat of the blade against the creature, the impact sends it hurtling into a table nearby where it explodes in a bloody mess.
The troll is dead, Kalmar and the barkeep standing over it. The thugs are making their way towards the door, while the half-orc watches the lifeless troll. Two stirges remain, one attacking Ringo and one drinking blood from the unconscious Fluttercloak.

The Kenku bolts upright, a gruff male voice coming from his beak. "Those...Gorramn....Bugs!"
The barkeep looks around at the few that remain in the tavern, ending on the half-orc. "Gahh...I'm truly sorry about that all of you...Bad for business."
"Bad for business, Durnan, but a hell of a lotta fun! I uh...Looks like my work's done." The half-orc replies, making her way towards the door. Ringo, you see the bard you spoke to earlier. His gaze shifts back and forth between suspicion at the half-orc and appraisal of yourself. He slinks out.

Kalmar pats Fluttercloak on the shoulder and then jogs after the half orc Come on now, Sister you can’t just leave after all that excitement! Killing trolls makes me thirsty. Tell you what, why don’t You buy me a drink and tell me why those losers jumped you? I didn’t catch your name, I’m Kal.
Ringo helps Fluttercloak up after Kalmar jogs after the half-orc. Ringo turns to the bartender and says, "so, do you always have trolls popping up from the ground?"
"Yagra," the half orc replies. "Yagra Stonefist. Look, friend, I really do have places to be. I'm a regular here, I'm sure I'll see you again. Durnan! Give these three a round on my tab!" She continues out the door.
"Always? No no, they're scheduled once a tenday." Durnan chuckles. "No, I assure you that's the first one I've seen at all in years. I tell you what, you three are drinking free here tonight, for the help."

"Look, friend, it's not normally my place to get involved in this sort of thing. Justice is blind, but business is neutral, eh? But seeing as you're new in Waterdeep I suppose I ought to fill you in before you go getting yourself into trouble." Durnan pauses, running his fingers through his mustache. "Alright, there's two criminal factions in Waterdeep, and they're at odds with each other, see? The Xanathar Guild has held hold of the criminal underworld here for I don't know how long, but a new group, the Zhentarim, has been wedging their foot in the door, so the speak. Krentz? He's Xanathar. Those tattoos? Yagra, she's Zhentarim; she normally keeps her work out of my tavern and truth be told is decent for business, but I--" Durnan looks up suddenly, his eyes affixed over your shoulder. A portly man wearing a floppy hat and scarf is standing behind you. "You three be adventurers, right? I saw your deed. I could use your help, let's sit down and talk, yes?" He looks jovially and apologetically at Durnan.

Kalmar listens to the explanations with an increasingly sour face. Zhentarim and Xanathar, great. We should have stayed out of it. We’d be better off with the troll, he’d try to eat us but at least we’d know where we stand. He looks at the man with the floppy hat Adventurers? He looks at Ringo and Fluttercloak and gives a slight shrug. If the price is right we are.
Ringo shrugs back at Kalmar and then grabs a mug of ale and follows the floppy hat man to the table. As his comrades sit down Ringo looks over at the young bard from the table and lifts his mug up at him and gives him a nod. He then turns his attention back to the floppy hat man, "so who are ya and what's this job your offering?"
The figure who approached you strokes his mustache, adjusts his floppy hat, and tightens his scarf. “Volothamp Geddarm, chronicler, wizard, and celebrity, at your service. I trust you’ve noted the violence in our fair city these past tendays. I haven’t seen so much blood since my last visit to Baldur’s Gate! But now I fear I have misplaced a friend amid this odious malevolence. My friend’s name is Floon Blagmaar. He’s got more beauty than brains, and I worry he took a bad way home a couple nights ago and was kidnapped — or worse. If you agree to track him down with all due haste, I can offer you ten dragons apiece now, and I can give you each ten times that when you find Floon. May I prevail upon you in my hour of need?”
