Bheran, a man in his late 20's with a small smile on his face, pipes up for the first time in the back of the group "I too am a bit weary from our travels and love the idea of a warm bed. However I wouldn't say no to a drink either".
Ulfgar looks up to the guard who has asked for the payment for information and just continues walking past him. All knowledge is free in the eyes of Moradin. He shall fill your coffers if that is what he wills. Ulfgar puts his cloth away and just keeps walking, paying no mind if the guard has anything to say about it. Let him who wishes to hear, receive the word of the one true Moradin.

The first guard shrugged his shoulders and looked at Garrin. "I'm an old man. I don't think I'm good with directions. However, my partner Beckett might be inclined to help if given a good incentive."He nods his head towards Emiliaand joked, "You should see him in the mess hall. He eats like a Halfling too."
The second guard frowned in response to this. He added a note or two down on the book before slamming it shut, smiling for the first time you see him smile. "If the Iron Bull makes folk like you, he's surely welcome here." He accepted the coins from Aiden.
The gate is now open to you. What would you like to do?

Garrin walks down the main road leading his mule. He keeps an eye out for the Wicker Goat. He is hoping that it is not to obscure a place in the town, and that it at least has a stable. Perception: 23
Garrin hopes to find a nice, meal, a warm bed to rest and then will look around town for opportunities to make a bit of money.
As he walks he talks to the young man who arrived late. (Behran - didn't hear him say his name at the gate) "You been travelling some? Where do you hail from?"
Bheran matches pace with Garrin to respond "Further inland for me, though I've been around. How about you? That's a very interesting weapon you've got there" he gestures towards the rapier on the ranger's person.
Ulfgar's eyes light up when he hears the name Kord and he quickly shuffles his way over to Aidan. Did you speak of Kord? His followers are ok in my book. A god who saw the error of his ways. Like Moradin before me, I will fight by your side if the need arises. He offers his hand to Aidan. Ulfgar Trueblood, blessed by the almighty Moradin.

You could say I come from Baldur's Gate, at least that's where I spent the last 10 years. Although I originally come from much further south.
Garrin quietly plays with the sword at his side. The hilt feels so familiar in his hands now. There were many tales that this sword could tell. He looked forward to getting to the inn to share some of them.
Served? You are a little young to be finished with service, aren't you? I mean I saw men your age still learning how to grease boots? Garrin looked at the young man, assessing him anew.
A dark look comes over Bheran's face. "There were....extenuating circumstances which led to my early retirement" he says quickly, almost as if he rehearsed it.
Ulfgar is totally pleased right now, a huge smile on his face as he shakes Aidan's hand This is no mere coincidence. Moradin and Kord have made our paths cross here today for a reason. We shall bring them honor. I can not wait to share an ale with you, friend. And if this lovely is a friend of yours, then she is a friend of mine. Ulfgar bows to her and continues to flash that smile. Ulfgar Trueblood, chosen of Moradin. Friend to those who fight the righteous fight.
A dark look comes over Bheran's face. "There were....extenuating circumstances which led to my early retirement" he says quickly, almost as if he rehearsed it.
It sounds like there is a story there to be told. I would love to hear it when you are ready, I have a few of my own I could share.
Garrin continued to walk laying his hand on the neck of his mule as he did so to reassure it. It had been some time since they had been in an actual settlement
Dragging behind the group a bit a tall 7" half-elf forms up next to the guards tosses both a gold piece then hurrys after the group shouting back to the guards as he jogging to catch up "Falcor Lyrandar Shipwright and the greatest ship maker you'll ever see promise you that one boys or the ales on me! Running up to the group looking tall, lanky with shaggy black hair, piercing green eyes and backpack stuffed full of papers and tools he says "Umm hello do you mind if i tag along drinking is always better in a group plus don't really know anyone here its my first time in Saltmarsh." Overhearing the conversation about Kord he perks up a bit. "I have heard alot about Kord, God of Storms but not Moradin what's he like?" As he follows along listening intently he repeatedly drops paper with drawing and measurements constantly having to pick them up and shove the back into his pack and you would certainly notice how unsure on his feet he is for such a large guy almost clumsy.
Ulfgard again perks up as the name Moradin is mentioned. Falcor, I will imbue with you the knowledge of the all powerful, great Moradin. Moradin forged the first dwarves from metals and gems and breathed souls into them when he blew on his creations to cool them. The more he speaks, the more animated he gets... Oh, he is so righteous and fair...Ulfgard now hangs back to walk alongside Falcor as he continues to extoll the virtues of his god as he stops along with Falcor every time he drops paper. Making sure the half-elf does not miss any of what he speaks.

Your path takes you directly past the jail. However, a large crowd is gathered outside the prison. They're throwing vegetables and rotten fish at the guards.
You all hear cries of: "Release 'em you high 'n mighty scum!" "If ye don't free, 'em we'll do it ourselves!" "Let 'em go!"
The poor guard is trying desperately to calm the folk down, and doesn't seem to be taken well at all. He has a dark red stain on his face from what could either be blood or a tomato. He is shouting above the crowd, "Disperse, or I will have to use lethal force. Return to your homes or you'll likely be joining your friends in prison." A response comes in the form of rotten projectile and even louder shouts and getting more progressively violent.
"Keel-haul 'im!" "Feed 'im to the sharks!" "Hang 'im!" "Feed 'im to the Lizardfolk!"
Garrin:
You are actually able to see the Wicker Goat in this chaos. It's right across the street.
