No problem at all, says Matteo, relaxing back onto his rock. I think we will stay here until our friends return, and you are welcome to remain until then. As for us, well, we're humble servants and warriors in service of our God. I can't say much of the mission, except that we've completed one part of it and have a few more parts to go. There are some temples just over the way...he points to the direction of the Oghmite and other temples; they have lots of books and scrolls and the like. You might ask them if they know of Boverno, and where it hunts in this season.
Aether - the woman looks puzzled at the request, startled even. “What events happened last night? Are we in danger? Who would want to hurt us? I don’t know what’s going on, but if the temple is in danger you must let them know!” The elf woman stands up in a fluster.
Risha - the library is starting to fill up more and more, you see some people studying to themselves, others wait in small circles. Could just be some clicks or people waiting for a more organized lesson.
Matteo/ Petmorn - No, Archie doesn’t like to go towards (as he stands up on his stump, crumbs dropping down his snout; putting up sarcastic air quotes) ‘civilized’ people.” As he plops back down. “Never treat me well, call me a monster.... vermin. One day I’ll show them, one day”
Your mark sharpens your senses and helps you find your prey. When you make a Wisdom (Perception) or Wisdom (Survival) check, you can roll one Intuition die, a d4, and add the number rolled to the ability check.
OOC: Didn't mess with my rolls...don't know why I'm getting that. Got a "cannot parse rolls, and when I edited (below the roll), it popped up.
Seeing that perhaps he had miscalculated the situation Aether raises his hands slightly in a soothing gesture. “Be at ease my dear. Panic and haste will lead to ruin. Last night the temple was infiltrated by cultists of Asmodeus. They released an aspect of the Dark God. Head Mistress believes they will make their way to other aspects and release those as well, if they have not already. We must find out where they are and contact those who guard them. Either to warn them or to find out if they have already been freed. So please fetch me all materials we have regarding the aspects of Asmodeus.”
(OOC: Sorry for the delay! work has been crazy and I have not had time to post almost anything outside of work hours.)
"I arrived just this morning!" Drax would reply eagerly as the yuan-ti worked to sell his disguise as a young and eager cleric. "I am excited to learn and this place is soo BIG! How can I help, I am ready to get started right away! There is soo much to learn!" He would say bouncing excitedly as his shaggy brown hair falls into his eyes, covering his baby face. He would then quickly wipe the hair from his face and give the dwarven woman a large smile.
Glancing at Petmorn and grinning, Matteo nods. To tell the truth, I was not much impressed by the temple folk either. I don't think sitting around all day looking at parchment and books is very healthy, or much fun.
You know, an elf once called me a monster - I don't think he was happy about something I did in my God's service. I don't think he was happy when I sliced his head off with my sword either, but who can say?
Risha - You mostly hear people discussing literature, religion, or the arcane. There seems to be some scandal that someone is sneaking around and teleporting new recruits while they sleep... often to the other snowcapped mountains.
Aether - The elf woman behind the desk calms down a bit. “Okay, but you know we can only give one book at a time... I will see what I can find, take the first door on the left.” She nods her head over to her right shoulder to a closed door. She heads in the other direction through a different door. Presumably to the archives.
Drax - The Dwarf contemplates a little bit. Hmm it is curious how you seemingly slipped through the cracks. I’ll correct the lists... have him join the other initiate classes and see his effects are taken care of. Also a different subject, but I need you to increase patrol in the area.... double it even. We’ll discuss it later.” The Dwarf goes back to her work as the man begins to escort you back out to class.
Matteo/Petmorn - Archibald is a bit taken back, his mouth drops slightly as he leans in. “You can do that? How’d you get free and not squashed by somebody?”
(Ooc.. welp, I guess this is what Drax is now... he starts a new life as an eager young cleric...)
"Oh thank you!" Drax would say with a Grin as he wipes his hair from his face once again. "What is my first class?" He would ask as he contemplates how to get out of his situation
Aether - You notice a fairly large blue stone in the top corner of the room. It’s angled to be looking down at a table and chair. The stone looks almost glasslike in its reflective hue. Besides the stone, table, and chair there doesn’t seem to be anything else in the room.
Drax - The man escorts you to the Troubadour Hall, the next building over. “History of the Greater Deities, with Professor Tamonga.” He is quite short and looking around as he hurried you in a quickened pace.
The elf was a fool, and spoke in a place where he had few friends, Matteo says. The people there were hesitant, uncertain of the strength and will of my God. The elf gave me an opportunity to answer their doubts, and I took it. None questioned us after that. He looks appraisingly at the kobold. But I was not alone that day. Where are your friends, Archibald? Any warrior can die easily without allies to watch his back. And yet you hunt alone.
Risha frowns as she sees Drax get led off and Aether go in an opposite direction, but decides not to draw too much attention to herself, continuing to listen in on the group.
Aether - it’s like a circular disc shaped gem. Approximately dinner plate sized. It has a light blueish hue to it. It does look like it’s sticking out of the wall.
Matteo/Petmorn - Archibald looks downward and kicks his foot into the dirt. “Archie doesn’t have friends... well kobolds anyways. Animals like Archie though. But they never seem to stick around.” Archie whistles a little tune as he sticks out his finger. A bluebird flies down and lands on the finger. They begin to chirp back and forth to each other before the bird flutters away again. “See, everyone leaves Archibald.”
Settling down in the room Aether pulls out some writing supplies, as he does so he attempts to summon his snake familiar into the space behind/on the stone, telepathically instructing Funiculus to try and force the stone from the wall.
Drax would take his seat with a smile. "Sorry I am late..." He would say as he looks around, trying to figure out a way to escape back to his companions.
(I’m assuming this was after she has given you the book)
Aether -
Funiculus appears directly upon and behind the gemstone. It coils it’s bod around the stone frame that’s housing the crystal like stone. As your snake squeezes, it just can’t get the right angle to provide pressure to remove the stone. During its struggle funiculus drops and hangs several times in front of the stone as it loses its hold. Often slapping the glasslike surface. It looks like just about has it when two guards burst through the door. “We saw the snake on the scrying lense, what’s going on here?” One guard is a half orc with a shaved head and trimmed tusks. Wearing a robe and you can see wraps around his hands and feet. The other is a halfling in half plate armor with a mace and shield at hand. Ruddy cheeks and blond curly hair.
(You can roll an investigation check for what you were able to scan in the time it took for the guards to get here)
Drax - You sit down in a classroom near the back, if you can call it that. No tables or chairs. Just pillows on the floor for sitting as the instructor walks around in the room. The instructor nods and goes back to teaching. There are two doors in the room, the one you came out of to the common area. Another door on the opposite side of the room leads to somewhere you haven’t been.
Risha - The conversations don’t really garner much knowledge besides the gossip of the temple youths. You do see what appear to be guards, 8 in total march through and walk out the main doors outside. Their prepared with spears and water skins, the standard gear of a patrol/scout team. You do see two other guards appear quickly as they run down the hall upstairs. The two guards appear to be a half orc and a ((You can see them running down what’s essentially a balcony overlooking the library that leads to the hallways upstairs)

Risha moves her books to a table near one of the circles and listens to see if she can overhear anything.
