Otger pauses to look at the bard, then looks around at the rest of the room. He then says, "You've seen the strange happenings going on, yes? I am simply trying to figure out why these events are happening or the source of them. I saw a sparrow fly through this kitchen and into that door over there," He points to the stairs leading down, "And I've a feeling it may know something, so I intend to chase it down!" Otger, looking crazed and probably sounding the same, isn't aware in the current moment of how odd his story sounds.
The bard scratches his head, looking between Otger and Zelra, then sighs. "Bird-watching? Look, I'm as mischievous as anyone, but this isn't a good day. The tips were bad enough with all of the interruptions in that crowd, the last thing I need is another distraction before I go on again, and I don't think Mildred would be thrilled with me if I let you...chase this sparrow through her tavern," he says, with a subtle sweetness and smile.
Zelra gives Otger an "Are you serious?" look before sighing. "You were following a sparrow? I thought you were following like an invisible man that I couldn't see or something." Turning to the bard, she plays with a gold coin in her hand. "Look, just let us through. We'll be out of your hair in a second. If Mildred has a problem with us, tell them we wouldn't listen to you or whatever, I don't know. Otger here is obviously very... uh... "passionate" about this bird." She stops playing with the coin and simply holds it in between her index and her thumb.

"No. Out," the bard says, thumbing his temples. "You want to see the cellar, ask Mildred. I'm not getting in trouble with her again."
A young halfling with shaggy blonde hair opens the door to the kitchen, delicately cradling a few empty plates in his hands. "What's this, Quint?" he asks.
Zelra shrugs and puts the gold coin back into her pocket. "I'm not too invested in this sparrow chase anyways. Otger. Have anything you wanna say to try and convince him?"
"Look, you didn't see what I saw. I suppose it sounds far-fetched but can you deny the odd events happening in the dinning hall? I myself couldn't speak right for a while! And that sparrow, it seemed to know something and I intended to find answers. Please, tell me where Mildred is or explain the strange environment we have found ourselves in." Otger's eyes keep darting to the staircase the entire time he is talking to the bard.
OOC: How far are the stairs from where we currently stand and how close is the bard to Otger? If he gets the chance, Otger will dart fast as his old legs will carry him down the stairs. For example, if we agree to follow the abrd out and he turns around first, I want to run to the stairs as his back is turned.
"Don't worry about it, Russ, I've got it," the bard says to the halfling, who shrugs and continues his work. With a prolonged sigh, the bard turns his back. "Follow me, I'll take you to Mildred. You can take it up with--whoa, hey!" he turns to see Otger sprinting down the cellar stairs. "Today is not my day," he mutters, giving chase.
He soon comes to a stop behind Otger at the base of the stairs. "What--" In the cellar, poorly hidden behind a wine rack, a somewhat rotund man draped in pink robes, who doesn't seem to realize given his haircut that he is going slightly bald, quickly tries to hide a collection of vials behind his back. "Oh, uh...good day," he says, the sound of vials clinking emerging from behind him with each movement.
Zelra laughs as Otger makes a run for it. "Oh, you sneaky bastard." She lightly jogs after the two and as she sees the man, she raises her brow. "Well, seems like your hunch was right after all."
Zelra shakes her head as she looks amused at the man in pink robes. She moves to block off the entrance, trying to prevent the man from making a run for it. "Nope. Never seen him before. But I'm willing to bet he's the reason why everyone's voices were ****ed up."
"I...a sparrow? I'm sorry, who are you all?" the man asks. Even from a distance, the smell of alcohol is introduced to the air when he speaks. As he sways, the tinkling sound of glass vials tipping into each other can still be heard.
"Uhh, what do you have behind you there? Are you also being affected by the strange happenings in this inn? No one seems to have an answer for it." Otger keeps his distance, the strong alcohol smell is not something he is keen to be too close to.
Zelra face palms before walking straight up to the man, picking up one of the vials he's trying to hide and giving it a quick sniff. "What's this you're trying to hide, hm?"
"Trying to hide? Why I'm not trying to hide anything!" the man says, pulling the vials that he had hidden from behind his back. "It is Sune's Day, and I am regaining her favor by distributing my love potions freely...in the Inn's booze stores."

Zelra raises her brow and crosses her arms. "Oh really? Love potions? Well I think you've ****ed up the recipe because instead of falling in love, people seem to be fighting each other and had their voices changed."
The stench of alcohol is rolling off of this man in waves. He's so drunk that you're having a hard time reading him.
"I may have messed up the measurements of the latest batch," the man intones, "It has had some undesirable effects. But don't worry, this new batch is as good as old, and Sune's love will be shared with all in the tavern tonight!"
"That's just not right. Love is not something that a potion should determine, love is something two people should be free to work on achieving themselves. And you don't think being intoxicated yourself would change your ability to mix a proper potion? Get a grip old man!" Turning to Quint the bard, Otger says, "Well, we've solved the source of the strange occurences you and the staff here have neglected for the entire night, do something about it! No one likes the effects of this man's love potions. Be rid of him, he has no place in sune's celebrations." Turning back to the man in pink robes he says, "You ruined a perfectly good meal, fool!"

Otger's exclamation is almost drowned out by the clamor of the kitchen, but a voice interrupts from nearby.
"Beg your pardon...are you supposed to be back here? I'm no regular here but I don't believe we've met."
The half-elf bard that was on the stage earlier in the night sidles around the corner, leaning against the wall.
