Marun finds himself in a tavern after a long hard days work. You arent very popular with locals or the common races considering your appearence and the local rumors of how many lives you have taken, however, in such a vast city as the great Ring City there are always oppurtunities if your willing to do what it takes. Plus with your size its easy to find heavy labor activities that most other beings may not be able to pull off so easily.
The tavern resides on the outer most circle of ring city, although the area is dangerous and poor there are far worse places to lay ones head at night. Then again....
The barkeep is a Lizard folk, hes talking with some brawney dragonken when he notices you have arrived. You two dont know each other very well or anything, he just knows you are a good paying regular that drinks more than the average body can normally hold. He begins poring a large mug of straight Flog Kha waiting for you to have a seat.
Marun stretches as he makes his way toward the bar. The wagons had been rolling in today which meant that merchants were looking for people to unload boxes. It had been a good day but he needed to keep moving. He had been here too long and the fire still burned in his belly.
“Thanks” he said as he sat at the bar and took the drink from the barkeep. “I have enjoyed your company my friend. It’s nice not to be feared when I walk in the door.”
The barkeep "Laazeur" or Laaz as most people call him, says "Yooourr welcommmmee" with a slithery hiss. "You are verrrrry intimidating however there are beings and things that enter that city this would make the deads flesh shiver and their half decomposed hairssss stand up on end. Besides you have to be feared in a shithole tavern on the outer circle like this. We stopped reporting the dead at first light after the first 97 cases. Most of them poisoned or throat ssllllit in the midle of the night.".
"You dont know much about this city do you? Where abouts did you come from? How did you end up here? Most every being in Arkadia knows of the monument of a city in the heart of the Common Lands."
You are coming down from the peak of a mountain, where your tribe has posted up for a short time, you come up on an area of thick woods and before you delv too deep into it you notice that your surroundings have slowly changed. The thick forest is still all around but there is something off about everything, certain flowers almost seem to be hybrid between a less thriving species and the more thriving the forrest naturally harbours. Behind you is the peak from which you came, to your right and left, more woods. *feel free to do any checks or whatever you feel like comes natural*
Your nomadic tribe hasnt been to this section of Arkadia before, nor is there any recordable record or credible information that suggests otherwise. The tribe just relocated to this area do to environmental circumstances, this just so happens to give you the oppurtunity to turn that leaf of being a Goliath and trying to understand yourself and the ways of life. Which would sound completely ubsurd to most common folk, but you are a Goliath and what are they to say what you should be or not be like or what you can or cant do.
Cyst is a fighter with stealth and survival skills, a bit of a rascal,a wild rover, see?
I’d suppose Cyst would come from the ring city itself, having some contact and all, always trying to get a way to get by. He could start from whenever you see fit, even the same inn where Marin entered?!

Its funny you posted i was just about to start your character off somewhere, been doing so much in between i will be able to focus more on it around 1030 my time central. so what ever time it is now about 5 hours. However im gonna be doing my best to add to everyones individual stories while also bringing everyone in on a main plot.
Good Luck to everyone. = ) ;P
~~~~~ Also a hint for EVERYONE in this rp, dont judge the books by their covers~~~~
You sit at a table in a random tavern, your one drink in and have a crappy hand. Maybe your roguish skills or good charisma can turn the big fat grin that the crocadile-like humanoid across the table is wearing into a funny twist of a frown XD. Needless to say he surely has a better hand than you, but maybe a little slight of hand? *Devilish Laughter comes from DM* XD. The other two card players to your left and right have already thrown in there cards, they just sit drinking with enthusiasm of the outcome. The one to your right A roughneck looking strongarm hire, they seem to be half-orc, already went all-in the last round and bought in this round with a pure silver coin. He drinks vigurously more each hand and seems to be contemplating what to buy-in with next.
Rusty remains in the shadows and positions himself to see where the High Elf is going, how many potential targets and any entrances and/or exits. He will observe to gather as much intel as he can and perhaps make a move if the moment presents itself. Unlike others in his field, Rusty did not get nervous or antsy, he is content to observe and calculate the risk v reward potential.
You notice a trio of thugish looking men go into one of the back alley doors, you adjusted your position from earlier where now you sit silently on the floor cadicorner from the door mentioned previously. You almost look as though your a homeless begger, maybe a war burdened soul that lost it all after one of the many wars in and around Arkadia. But thats one of the best parts about not being seen, knowing the truth of who you are rather than what you appear to be. After an hour and some odd minutes pass the trio emerges again, grinning from ear to ear and boasting about how wasted they were going to get, also how much money they will have ( your roll check for evesdropping went very well). They slip away quickly before you decide chasing them and blowing your cover might not be the best choice, after all they werent so jolly and boasting before they came her. Shortly after the door opens again. Its the Elf from before, he holds an enormous amount of money in his hand and seems to still be counting it as he starts toward the end of the alley, back to the streets.
You sit at a table in the corner of a tavern, this is the first time you have stopped at a civilized place since you left your home. You have gotten a couple of sizing up stares from the crowd in the room but it would seem your safe to just sit back and ponder life while you shoot down shot after shot. You see some brawny men arm wrestling some placing bets others just playing for the sport of it. The drunker you get the more you think about joining in on the fun.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Poking around the plant and soil Sumazura will try to decern what's going on with these hybrid plants.
15 Nature
"Hmm is this natural or is something doing this."
After some time quietly contemplating the plants she will pick up her walking stick dust herself off. After a first hesitant step Sumazura will glance back over her shoulder and begin pushing deeper into the forest looking for signs of life.
Hello, I am playing Thokk (Half-Orc, Rogue). I am very new to D&D and have been looking for a way to get into it. Hopefully I am not too late in joining the group if not here is the background info for Thokk:
I was raised by my mother who blamed me for my father being enslaved. I grew up poor without a permanent home, moving a lot. Others saw me as being different or strange, and I had very few companions. Necessity forced me to take up a life of crime, since it was the only way I could ensure that I survive. As a result I was accused and convicted of Extortion. I spent time in debtor's prison performing hard labor. After 3 years I succeeded in escaping the prison and have been on my own and on the move since.
I will reply to everyones post in the morning im calling it an early night but ill be on tomorow on and off to get things taken care of. I wanted to do alot of it tonight but im just beat.
Welcome Thokk, like i said ill do your intro to the rp in about 7 8 hours, and i already got a good spot for you =)
Ooc: just one thing : are you really going to use this same thread for both out of game and in game posting? For 10 characters? Won’t it be a mess? Wouldn’t it be better to create a campaign thread?
Ooc: I agree with dndpro100. I would keep this thread for recruitment and other out of the game posting. I would create a private thread for the campaign where we can talk as our character, using symbols like [ ] to put ooc when necessary.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Rusty looks to see if any other potential threats are around the High Elf. He will start to persue and attempt to intercept the Elf into the back of the ally is the opportunity presents itself.
Stealth roll 11
Perception/Investigation roll 16
[OOC]I agree with a seperate thread from recruitment - multiple if you split the group up.[/OOC]
