And also would everyone be choosing the symbol for there character on here? That way to DM i could go
*Begins casting a spell and chants "Elvitus MAlzei", at the same time ^^Uses shadow-step and gets a initiative roll as a bonus, he then uses backstab and rolls a 16+3(19)
Im just trying to completely understand what your talking about
Sorry for dropping in like this without so much as introduction. Did not mean to do it this way - new to the site (if not for the smart design I could add my character 10 times).
If you still have a spot (right now Nawien is number 10? :) ) and do not mind someone new to this community and a bit rusty in play-by-post too - I would love to join. (If you do mind any of it - feel free to kick me out)
Nawien is halfelven sorceress typical young mystery hunter, when curiosity overpowers common sense and can lead to risky situations. Friendly, enthusiastic but not a well of wisdom. If class and traits acceptable (and you do not mind me joining) I'd work on her history.
Hello, I play as Thokk. Try to send a message to the DM Zephyrethe they are trying to get everyone into the story and has asked anyone who hasn't been put in to message them directly. Also, there is another thread for the actual gameplay.

He means:
[ooc]Using the brackets to denote "Out Of Character" talk - with or without the end brackets. The other PbP use color text for dialogue and black for everything else.[/ooc]
I can for some combat situation I suppose but on the campaign forum we are just going with
This
However if there are multiple People in the situation i might identify it by symbols or as a general post with everyones action happening when its supposed to in the post
Ok so then everyone would have there own color for that characters actions or conversations? I just want to make sure everyone is on same page i see there are alot of people that are new to the site in the campaign to so it will help everyone to know how things usually roll out in a game
Hey, I will likely not be responding too much the next 2 days as I am currently working the weekend shift at my job 16 hours each day. If I am able to log on while at work as there is occasional down time I will be sure to respond as quickly as possible. In regards to a color and/or symbol to signify who I am I'm not picky just let me know what color and/or symbol I will be and I am game.
Here's a campaign formatting guide published by CharlieChopshop and modified by me based on the dndbeyond guide. Feel free to reply to this post and we'll modify it together:
Campaign Formatting Guide
1. Narrate your character's actions with plain black text.
2. Have your character speak, "like this". The speech text should be emboldened and in a color of your choosing.
3. "I can state my inner monologue like this", Charlie thinks to himself (or "I think to myself", depending on if you prefer to narrate your story at the first or third person). Character thoughts are formated similar to your speech text, but italicized instead of emboldened.
4. [OOC] Tag out of character text like this. Try to keep OOC chat in Discord, or designated OOC chat for the most part.
5. You can link spells, actions, and skills with a tooltip by putting the name in-between "tags". Example: [ magicitem]sunblade[/ magicitem] (Without spaces within the [ ] brackets.):
6. Thinking ahead and posting rolls you think you might need to make ahead of time is never a bad thing. Sometimes we may not use them. ie. Charlie moves in to examine the statue's butt area more closely. Investigation 16
7. Below this is an example of a standard combat turn. You need to include a detailed description of your actions along with your rolls. If I impose advantage or disadvantage after the fact, or you want to expend a bardic inspiration die etc... Just edit the post from your turn, and add the new roll at the bottom of the post. All of this is done using the dice roller, which is the small dice icon in the toolbar.
Charlie runs across the courtyard, towards the goblin (goblin 2) closest to the well, making a heavy two handed swing with his battle-axe! Attack Attack: 14 Damage : 7
8. You can also use a spoiler to add extra rolls you think you might need, or other messages. Do this by highlighting the text you want to be in the spoiler, then clicking the exclamation point icon in the toolbar.
That's an example of a roll that will never be used: Perception 11
9. Separating by paragraphs at conversation breaks or at logical action breaks is a good idea. Strive to not post “one-liners.” That is, don’t simply post ‘Joe the Paladin whacks the goblin.’ That’s boring. Try to weave in some narrative. ‘Joe the Paladin ducks under the goblin’s hammer, easily sidestepping the crude swipe. His ornate mace slams against the goblin’s head, delivering a powerful smite in the name of Thor.’ This is by no means quality material, but it is a step in the right direction.
10. Put your character's name in your signature line, with your character's text color denoted there. You have to go to the "Account menu", then click the "Profile" tab to change your signature.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
So, the post should look something like this:
The street was empty, but when Nawien turned into the alley, leading to the merchant house, she practically stumbled into the guy with flyers - a young human guard, obviously determined not to fail his probably first task on the job. He was nailing these pieces of paper to the walls of the houses around like a portrait of his beloved grandmother in the dining room. Nawien stopped, "Might be though to distract but you never know".
In eyes of humans she looked pretty, she knew that well enough, and hoped the look and smile to be enough
- Excuse me, kind sir, - Nawien smiled charmingly at young guard, - could you tell me what is this all about?
[OOC] I am not sure if Zephyretheplans to add the guard, this is just an example and test of the chosen colour (if someone else feels like Magenta belongs to him/her - just say so).
