Hey you! Yes you, the one browsing through the play-by-post forum. Are you looking for something to scratch that D&D itch? Well, I've got just the solution for you!
I'm looking for a party of four or five people that would like to play The Sunless Citadel module. This will just be the module so it won't open up to a larger world. I'll keep the recruitment open for a few days.
Notes: - Anyone is welcome to apply - Standard array or Point buy - Standard starting equipment - Official D&D material only, please. - Able to post often. I'd like to keep the game going at a steady pace, but I know that life happens and that comes first. - Adventure will start with the party on their way to The Sunless Citadel. This is to avoid the how the party meets up section, but I can start there if players desire. - Be excellent to each other - Feel free to ask any questions

Be excellent to each other, and roll for initiative dudes!
Hi there is a character of mine I loved to play but the previous campaign got to a dead end (now he is level 2 but I am willing to re-adapt him accordingly) and he is been built with standard array.
If you've any room for a smooth talking half elf storm sorcerer who until moments ago was a bit part in another character's back story, je me presente!
Usual deal - all the water in the town froze the day he was born but what did they expect, it was sodding winter! But no, it's an omen, blah blah blah, chosen one and all that - bloody yokels - and now everyone's always hassling him for something. Can you fix this limp? Can you unbight my crop? Can you get your hands off my wife's arse? No! No! And sorry, yes I can but she put it there so have a word, mate. Anyway, long story short when an opportunity arises to leave town under the guise of petitioning the Lord's Alliance for help with a goblin problem he grabs that nettle with both hands and gets out, slipping his escort first chance he gets and talking his way into a small party of Adventurers, bound for shenaniganshire in the land of Hyjinx.
Don't have a sheet just now but I'll favour Dex and Cha, dump Str and need to go look up cantrips and spells and whatnot. Bear in mind, having zero charisma of my own I may occasionally lean on a good roll and "I say something smooth" in the same way that the guy whos pc has 18 strength doesn't have to bench press a small hatchback to justify his attack modifiers. Oh, and party on dudes (in case that was a test!)
I'd like to join up with Delereth Summerfade, wood elf monk. She is on a wandering pilgrimage set off from her monastery far in the mysterious west. Her quest seems to end at this so-called Sunless Citadel.
Hi, I'm interested in playing. New to D&D, only played once.
Character is Shauku, a Tabaxi Monk. Forced to flee my commune, a sect of the Kensei, when it was forcefully dissolved due to conflicting ideologies. I lend my support where needed as I seek to test my training in real world scenarios and search for other remnants of my commune.
Delg Ungart “The Shield” is a Hammer of Moradin- that is, a warrior meant to fight evil, particularly Gruumsh and his orcs. He grew up as an ordinary guardsman until orcs attacked his city. He and his squad held a gate all through the raid thanks to his tireless shield arm. As the battle raged, Delg prayed for salvation and strength. Moradin looked down and saw a Dwarf to extend his will in the world, granting his blessing of power. Delg’s Shield began to ring like an anvil, and with each blow against it, thunder erupted and struck down his enemies. Afterwards, Delg heard the voice of Moradin explaining what it means to be his Hammer: to fight evil, be just, inspire the strong to action, and cooperation for the greater good. Moradin then directed him to travel, to spread his will. Delg hopes this journey will grant him allies that serve to inspire as Moradin intended.
Ezekial the Thrice-Cursed was born under an ill sign. Wings that don't support his body, horns that never grew past nubs and a pale grey skin that made him stand out from his dark-skinned fellows - Zeke started life with three strikes against him. Early on, it was clear that not only was he marked by these strange physical traits - he was also destined to be larger and stronger than most Tieflings. His size made him the obvious choice when the temple came seeking acolytes to walk the path of the Guardian - a ritual position called upon to defend their people in this world and beyond. Not long after he started down this path, doom befell his people, the temple and all those he knew. A doom so dire, Ezekial hasn't spoken of it since. Now he finds himself cut adrift in the world, looking for a purpose, a people and maybe a chance at redemption...
The village idiot compared to his elegant and devious half-sister, Aaidi is used to life on the road accompanying his mother, a charlatan and snake-oil salesman posing as an honest merchant. Both Aiadi and his sister had an aptitude for sorcery, but his mother was unwilling to allow either to extend their skills in that area. Instead, his sister was employed as a shill to his mother's works, but Aaidi was unwilling to learn the tools of his mother's trade, and, more importantly, strongly opposed to living his life on the wrong side of the law. While his mother and sister peddled their fraudulent goods, Aaidi spent his time amongst the company of the village residents, accumulating a variety of skills from craftsman eager to show off for the polite and affable foreigner who seemed genuinely interested in their work. He learned folk songs from the other travellers on the road the rest of his family were reluctant to speak to, and how to play various instruments to accompany a singer. He learned how to channel magic in subtler ways through his music, without alerting his mother or sister to his newfound capabilities.
Upon his mother's death of a heart attack, his sister announced her desire to pursue an education in magic in the capital using the funds she had earned throughout the years. Aaidi declined to join her, instead opting to continuing to travel around the lands, using his various talents, both magical and otherwise, to earn an honest living.
Jessica grew up as an urchin and survived as a pickpocket until she managed to grab a spellbook from an inattentive wizard. She began to teach herself the magic in the book and now feels confident enough to test her powers and make a name for herself as an adventurer.
Backstory: Lorminar was always one for enforcing laws. Ever since he was a young boy he would always tell his parents of any unruly behavior his siblings displayed. A tattle-tale that never took a break. As he got older he studied the laws of the land and begun to seek out those who had broken it. As his career started to grow, he become known as the town's bounty hunter. Any lawless man knew his free days were numbered if Lorminar was on their tail. But recently Lorminar was wounded terribly and so he is taking a short break from his bounty hunter ways and in an attempt to get back into the fray, he goes on an adventure with a group of others as driven as he is.
My Character is Solomon the Stouthearted. He is a Half-Elf Paladin who believes in Ilmater. I am planning to take the Oath of Redemption.
I have a couple of questions though. Firstly, should I follow the Tenets of the Oath of Redemption for roleplay reasons? Second of all, is the campaign roleplay heavy? Thirdly, is this 5th edition?
Paladins do have to follow the tenets of the oath they take, though I'll be lenient on them. There are some roleplay opportunities in the module as well as roleplaying with the other players. This will be 5th edition.

Thank you all for your interest in joining this campaign. The campaign will be starting soon.
Edit: It was a hard choice to make, but those chosen have been privately messaged. If you were not chosen don't worry, I'll keep you in mind in case replacements are needed. Thank you all again, and may the dice roll ever in your favor.

Sounds neat, sign me up. My character is a Tiefling Warlock, she's very upbeat and happy, she has a pact with Gaxinuz, an aberration.

Hello there,
I'm very interested in trying out a PBP game. Fairly new to D&D, have played a handful of sessions. This would be my first PBP game.
My character I'd like to use is Arashi Icehorn - A Half-Elf Rogue (I can edit anything needed to fit into the campaign setting)

Aaidi Locke - Half Elf Bard

Just the module? Great! In my experience longer games aren't suited for pbp.
Here's my character: Jessica the self-made wizard
Jessica grew up as an urchin and survived as a pickpocket until she managed to grab a spellbook from an inattentive wizard. She began to teach herself the magic in the book and now feels confident enough to test her powers and make a name for herself as an adventurer.
