Zeke chuckles at the halfling - strange sound from the normally taciturn tiefling.
‘I most certainly am not the dwarf you are looking for, but as my comrade here says we are his agents. You have successfully found those you seek my dear sir.’
Having several of his new friends exit the inn and hearing a commotion outside, Ethan scrambles to finish his breakfast and heads outside to join the fun.
"I'm here."
Ethan speaks through a mouthful of bread.
Ethan pulls up short as he sees the wagon load of supplies, stepping out of the door way and around next to Zeke.
‘These appear to be the supplies our friend was waiting on - seems we are ready to start off on our journey as soon as the rest of our comrades make it outside’
Elra rolls back and forth on the balls of her feet, having called back Vincent. "So are we going now? I'm excited to get going." She approaches the Halfling and holds out her hand, "A lust to meet ye mr. Tallfellowe," she says in Halfling (I'm going with middle English cause why not). "Elra Skylash at you're service. Vincent is ready to help to." She never mentioned anything about Arvel's disguises, mainly because she had so many questions about it that she felt it could wait until things were a bit quieter or they had a moment alone.
"If they needed us that badly I doubt they would have left without us," Elra says. "Plus it's easier to move with just the two of them without all of these supplies. If they brought the rest of us along with the supplies we'd move much slower than just them alone."
Elra nods in agreement, "Ya, that's probably for the best. I don't think getting to far behind them is for the best." She readjusts her pack and checks the straps of her armor again. "Man this stuff feels really weird. How do you wear it everyday?"
Elra stares at his gauntlet with fascination, "Wow, you discovered a way to store objects inside a gauntlet! How did you manage that? No, don't tell me. I want to try and guess... no, wait. Please tell me. This is too fascinating to try and guess the answer to." She pulls out her notebook and starts writing notes inside it. "Artificers have always been an interesting subject for me. I was hoping I would meet one one day. Guess Oghma answered my prayers," she smiles and look up at him.
Amidst all of the sudden chatter Finnan chirps up "wait, wait, very nice to meet you all and everything, but what's the big rush? These ladies 'aint got more than about two speeds, ya know; slow and stop." He points a thumb back at the oxen. "Plus, it 'aint all here yet."
When Tarja emerges from the tavern Finnan points a finger at her and his face brightens up a bit. He starts to say "aha, Mr..." at the sight of a dwarf before settling for "oh, nope, never mind" and studying her for an extra second to be sure before shaking his head with a bit more certainty.
"Look, the rest will be along shortly and we can go then, if ya like. Look for another driver; real ugly one, REAL ugly. I have some other business to tend to. Won't take long." He turns around and then realizes he has to get past Zeke still. "Ah, excuse me mister absolutely horrifying guard man sir, if you please." If allowed he'll make his way inside. Before closing the door however he'll say to himself but aloud "yeesh, at least nobody will be giving this band any trouble out on the road, but I'll be having nightmares for a month all the same."
"Oh, we still have time," Elra closes her book after Ethan's explination. "Do you think I have time to run to the House of Knowledge before we leave. I've only just realized I never told them I was planning on leaving so suddenly..."
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Zeke bobs his head at the halfling and let’s him pass into the interior.
At Elra’s query, he speaks up ‘You should have time if your quick. Sounds like we’re waiting on another wagon before we can set off anyway.’
Zeke checks the wagon over carefully, examining the cargo for anything unusual, making sure the load is tied down correctly and examines the Oxen with a practiced eye
Investigation 17 - with advantage because of his proficiency with land vehicles as a solider
The oxen looks healthy and strong and the wagon sturdy. There are a spare wheel and axel amidst the rest of the shipment. The load is brimming with various mining supplies and food, including a dozen large sacks of flour, several casks of salted port, two kegs of a strong ale, shovels, picks, a great deal of rope, crowbars, lanterns, barrels of oil, blankets, tents, bedrolls and more. All appear to be mundane goods.
Anyone else have any tasks in mind during this waiting period?
Roughly twenty minutes later a very similar load is spotted coming from the same direction as the first. There is a driver atop the wagon this time and he looks a bit familiar even from a distance. Eventually the second load arrives along side the first, this wagon having only about half the load of the first, leaving space aboard for a few riders if people so choose.
"Greetings, Farnin Tallfellow at yer service!" He looks the party over after taking a bow. "I sure hope yer the band of merry folk I'm supposed to meet, or we've got quite the awkward situation on our hands if the golden-eyed one here is about to abscond with my brother's sorry excuse for a team!" "No offense girls" he says to the original pair of oxen. "Where is that handsome devil, anyhow?" Farnin looks up at the tavern sign, complete with ale flagon and concludes "oh, never mind." He then pulls an envelope out of his pocket and reads from the outside. "I need a Mr. Rockseeker and a Mr. 'E-Tan'?"

"What's all this?"

"Oh, so they left without the supplies, seems strange to me."
"I wouldn't think leaving early would make a great difference, but it's certainly not my area of expertise."
"In truth I've only done one or two adventuring type job really, so maybe they know that they just didn't have the time to wait?"
"Hmm, now that I think it through, they must think the problems are serious then, to have left without the supplies..."
Ethan frowns,
"Maybe we should rush things a little ourselves then, in case they need us?"

"My point was that if they were that desperate to get there quickly, maybe we should try to get there as soon as we can too?"
"Not that we are going to get anywhere fast with all this to escort, but maybe we don't wait too long before we go?"

"Agreed. Mr. Tallfellow? Are you averse to leaving as soon as possible?"

"You get used to the armour with time, as for everything else, well I have this."
Ethan taps his gauntlet with it's strange internal storage.
"So a lot easier to carry all my tools, gadgets and materials. Before I got it working, it was all becoming quite heavy and uncomfortable."

Ethan lets out the breath as Elra hurries off.
Ethan move over to stand near Arvel, as Zeke starts examining the cart.
"I would have last minute things to do, if I hand enough money. So many plans, not enough materials and time."
"At least I have what I need for a few things I'm working on, so I'm not completely stalled."

At Farnin's approach, Ethan stops to take in just how much stuff is going to Phandalin.
At Farnin's mention of E'tan, Ethan stop,
"Did you say E'tan? My name's Ethan, but I have been called E'tan before."
Ethan gives Arvel a smile, and turns back to Farnin.
"What did you need?"
