Phineas winces briefly at the tone of Ash’s comments, his smile fading for a fraction of a second. He’s heard it before from the haughty elves of his childhood...the sense of superiority, the tone of dismissal of the inferior. He brushed the comments aside, focusing on the brute’s wounds. “In time, we all prove our worth,” he mutters quietly to himself, then whispering louder to Huey. “Perhaps when we get you cleaned up, you could give me a hand with these manacles?”

Duke might have been stolen, but somehow Svana greeting it like a person was something that had shocked it. Or it would, if it was capable of feeling such an emotion. Duke had not been programmed with social skills and it never interacted with humanoids outside of an annual visit to see if it was still functional. The closest it had to a 'nice to meet you' was to lower its auditory settings and respond with "This unit will serve you to the best of it's ability." It does some quick mental calculation and determines that while she's likely lacking in physical strength, the other beings in this situation were already entering into collaborative situations. "Collaboration will increase our chances of success by 12.36%, this unit will enter into a partnership with you."
Enkindle mutters a curse, and then turns on Shuushar with a scowl. "What's yer ****'n deal anyhow, fishboy? You got friends wait'n on the outside fer ya? Wait'n to bust ya out a moment's notice? Or ya just been these knife ear bastards ***** fer too long?" She asks Shuushar in terse whispers. Occasionally she'll throw a glance in the others direction, or catch snippet or two. But seemed for the more more concerned with answers over any overheard platitudes.
Huey is in the corner of the cave, mumbling to himself excitedly, and playing with his new pet spider when Phineas approached him and tended to his wounds. After finishing, Huey stood up and wrapped his arms around Phineas in a huge bear hug, and proceeded to jump up and down laughing a hysterical laugh of glee. Louder than he should be, Huey yells out "HEY GUYS! Me Huey! Me have new friend!"
After bouncing around the cave with Phineas in his arms, he finally sets him down, huge toothy grin plastered on his face. Pointing to Jezzika, "That Jizzica...she friend too!"
Upon Phineas' recommendation of helping each other get out of their manacles, Huey nods overly excitedly in agreement, and lends Help to Phineas, and also lends his enormous strength (additional 24 to Phineas' STR roll) to assisting in breaking his bonds.
Ash, noticing Huey's sudden interest in breaking the bonds, moves to say something. "I don't think that's the b.... oh... there he goes..."
Ash seems to survey their surroundings closely, taking note of the guards, what they are carrying, and their inner feelings. It doesn't take long before her attention goes back to the others, taking in their body shapes quietly, her back almost defensively against the wall. The small voices in her head are a constant but as she listens closer, she realizes they are not the same as before. "New voices. That's only slightly alarming. What do you want now?"

I thought this was over. Sin az sid dtx dakx piy datz. Why do you sound different now? Is he gone?
Ash:"Yes. I speak Common."Jezzika says. "Nice to meet you. Unfortunate it had to be in a cell." She stares at you for a few moments, not in a rude way, but looking you over, as if young women with red hair was not common where she came from. Which was true. "Interesting choice of hair color."she said, giving you a wry smile. From your cell, you can see a large guard tower in the near distance, with about 5 drow guards lazily patrolling and monitoring you all. They are heavily arms, and very bored. The light in the cavern is dim, lit with the occasional torch lighting the darkness.
Ree'lyn:Jezzika snorted in a laugh at your comment, and spoke out loud, saying, "Dos gumash telanth nindel. Lil' ligrr pholor chath, lil' robot, lueth lil' j'nesst xuil lil' phish lauske. Zhal'la udos inbal bought natha ticket, xor xun udos inbau natha duul'sso jous?"She laughed. Then, she spoke to Ree'lyn again in his mind. "My patron allows me to communicate silently to anyone who can understand a language, any of them. I have truly been blessed. The myconid spore who is captive with us has a special ability as well, so it told me. If you ingest one of it's spores, you will have the ability to understand anyone without knowing their language, and vice versa. I don't need it. But it is good to know." Unfortunately, there is nothing more to the slave pen but a cold damp cave. The bars are built very solid and go deep into the ground.
Amara:"Hh."Jezzika smiles, expecting the untrustful nature from someone not of her own race. "I wouldn't say I have a plan. But I can tell you two things. One, I am not a spy. I ran away from my home, to be honest. And two, I am Jezzika. The only advantage I have here is that I know what my kin will do to us. To both of us. All of us..if we don't find a way to escape."
Enkindle:"Peace, my firey friend." Shuushar says with a smile, "Violence will get us nowhere. My friends are indeed waiting for me back in Sloobludop, but they are not going to..bust me out, as you say. The gods have enlightened me, and I will wait patiently for any sign they give me."
Jezzika:"Huey.."she moaned, loudly. "It's JEZZika. Not Jizzika."She gave him a look as if he's made this mistake many times before, and didn't think it was funny anymore.
Huey/Phineas:Huey breaks your shackles easily, and none of the Drow seemed to noticed. They will, however, once they realize Phineas is not restrained any longer. You're not sure what they're going to do to him once they realize this.
DAY ONE LABOR TASKS
Jorlan with a contingent of heavily armed Elite warriors unlocks the gate to the slave pen. "Alright, scum."he drawls. "Time to do your chores. Lets see. Who gets to do what today? Ugh, they're all so pathetic, I don't know who to choose. Hmm."he taps his finger on the side of his cheek that's heavily damaged, thinking. "Ok. Here's the lucky winners. Nice and easy now. Or not, so we can take turns beating you again. HA!"
1. Phineas, Eldreth and DUKE have laundry duty today. You are escorted by four quaggoth and pushed into the river of AREA 14. Today is an exceptionally dirty laundry day, and you're positive the drow clothing has been soiled extra bad on purpose.
Water pouring down from the waterfall at area 9 forms a 20-foot-deep pool before flowing out into an underground river that travels several miles before spilling into the Darklake, a massive body of water well beyond this place. The drow take the water they need from the top of the waterfall, they use the pool to dump waste and garbage, which is what you stand before. Although this fouls the surface of the pool, the constant flow keeps the water beneath the surface clear, perfect for making slaves suffer and clean laundry. Each of you roll a straight up d20.
2. Ront, Jezzika, and Svana have inventory duty at AREA 2, the Barracks. You are supervised by 5 Elite drow warriors. While the barracks look very well organized, you are all shoved into the cave and told to move things around for no apparent reason, just to keep you all busy. They give the heaviest things to lift to Svana, while the Drow by the entrance snicker and make comments.
Stone steps lead from the watch post to a 1-foot-thick platform of zurkhwood extending between two of the hanging towers and into three adjoining caverns. The two southernmost caves serve as barracks for the rank-and-file drow warriors of the outpost. Spider silk rope webbing on the cavern walls is set with hooks for hanging lanterns and other items, but the barracks are rarely lit. Everyone will have to make STR checks while lifting, these crates are full of ore, or something, and heavy.
3. Huey, Ree'lin, and Enkindle have Quaggoth den cleaning at AREA 12. Praise Helm, it's messy in here. The smell is overwhelming and you have nothing to use but a small rag, a dirty bucket, and your hands. Lets go, make that pen look as good as new money. You are supervised by 4 drow warriors, two of them laughing almost constantly at Ree'lin and Huey. You guys will have to make a straight up d20 rolls.
4. Buppido, Amara, and Talike have waterfall water collection at AREA 9. Time to get those buckets filled. All 50 of them. Lets make some d20 rolls to see how well you do. You can add your DEX mod if you'd like. Two Elites on each side of the waterfall watch in amusement.
As he sees guards returning, Phineas tries to keep low and small, moving the restraints to appear as if they are still in place until a time he can find a better solution. He keeps close behind the lumbering, metal man in hopes that the larger one will hide his current condition. As they leave the slave pen (if he is unseen), Phineas tries to call upon his innate abilities to cast an illusion on his chains to make them appear affixed.
Duke feels absolutely nothing as it cleans the clothes, having spent its entire existence working with far dirtier things than pissed in pants. In fact, that quality might help it work better than its flesh and blood counterparts.
Humiliation is almost always the way to teach others about their positions in life. What a surprise it is for those that take their provocations for granted and end up offering the very coin with which they are paid back.
"Easy and steady! If you know how to deal with animals, try it one by one. Let's move separately in areas around the Quaggoth so we get most of it done at once."
Pointing the way to his other two companions, Ree'lyn moves to the far side gathering the dung into a pile to be removed afterwards by someone else.
I know what your kin will do to us too, Amara answers Jezzika cooly with her mind before the drow come and start assigning tasks.
When her task is assigned, Amara narrows her eyes and starts filling buckets, glancing at Talike, who hears a voice in her head. One. I'm an elf, dear. It's the drow that got us stuck down here. Two. Do you have any abilities that might be useful in getting us out of here?
While working the laundry, Phineas does his best to move closer to the dwarf, maneuvering to put the large metal man between he and his guards. Whispering quietly, he says, "Perhaps we can strike an alliance, my friend, and figure a way out of here."
