Navi would look at her clean axe, look over to the dead snake, then over to Corum cleaning off his bloody blades. Aight. I'll give it to him. "Ye' did good." She'd mutter.
Navi would take a knee down by the snake to take a closer inspection. She was curious whether there was a way they could harvest its venom and meat. She also wondered if its skull would be worth hauling back.

Georges would help Ulrich up and look at the snake as well. "Well isn't that something?" He'd try to bend down and see what kind of snake it was, pen and paper in hand to jot down a sketch of what it looked like.

"My thanks Georges, that snake coming out of nowhere almost had me for dinner." Ulrich will then cast Prestidigitation to clean himself up and then step a few feet away from the snake and keep a watch out for anything else that might jump out of the forest.
Getting a good look at the snake now, you see that it is over 20 ft in length, all black except for a red ring around its neck. It doesn't resemble any viper you have seen before, but the markings are similar to snake (non-viper) found in more northerly areas such as Waterdeep called a Ringneck, that grows to a little of 2 ft in length. Though its prey is usually small mice.
The venom snacks, just inside the upper jaw are easily harvested.
Like all snakes, the meat is eatable (never personally having had snake, I can't vow for its taste).
((It tastes pretty good actually, there is a local rattlesnake festival here every year with fried snake, stew snake, bbq snake. Not to be cliche but it has a taste similar to chicken with a slightly different texture))
Corum goes back to harvesting the shiny eyes as he passes everyone he mumbles, why is everything to so big, why can't these creatures be normal...
Navi would work on harvesting the meat, leather and venom sacks. She'd also behead the creature to attempt to bring it's head with them. If it's too big, she'd settle for the jaws and/or teeth.
"Wasn't complainin' lad. You take yer time. I wouldn't have been able teh do much for yeh." Navi would continue harvesting the snake, "I did ask fer a healer's kit, but I suppose they had none to spare." She'd shrug

The sun continues to shine through the canopy in dappled pools, shifting slightly as the breeze far above moves the upper branches. On the forest floor, the heat and humidity continue to rise.
To the east, is the road you have traveled. To the west, the road continues. To the north and south, a path (more of a wide boulevard for walking) can be found among the forest floor.

"Once we get done with this, everyone, I suggest we get going down this path. Because of all of the structures we've seen, we may have stumbled upon a city's ruins." Georges said, standing by the path.
He investigates the product to see if it has been used by anyone recently. 8
Navi would finish storing everything she harvested, carefully and separate. She'd tie her trophy to her back. "Aight. West along this path we go then." She'd nod to the others and start walking.
As you continue down the wide road to the west, it slowly bends until you are headed south. Not unexpectedly, you see the what looks like another huge snake before you facing west. Cautiously approaching, you find the statue of an hooded viper made of the same black rock, green gems sparkle from its eyes 8 ft above you.
The road continues on now to the south. Another major road meets at this spot, continuing west with a wide walking avenue heading east.

"Ulrich pipes up, "Anyone remember which way the snakes were facing? By chance were they facing towards the middle of this road? We might want to see what they were facing."

Ulrich steels himself as he stands back up, "I am ready, lead the way." As he walks by the dead snake he does give it a swift kick though.
